Ok, I know there a bunch of threads out there on this topic that always seem to get moved to this sub-forum, so I thought I'd just start this one here. I'm seriously considering a Provari. I've made the progression from njoy king disposables to an eroll (which I use on a daily basis) to an ego twist to an itaste vv/vw 3. To give you some background on how I vape, I have a handful of mini-protanks and evods, a smok dct, and an iclear 30. I'm looking at getting a higher quality carto tank (ibtanked and phiniac are towards the top of my list). I also just got an igo-l for dripping and am still learning how to wrap a decent coil.

I've looked at the vamo, zmax, sid, evic, and just about every other reasonably priced apv out there. My general impression of quality of all of these is that the provari would be comparable to a macbook air while the others are more like mid-range windows laptops. You're paying more for build quality than anything else. Is that a fair comparison or am I giving the other apvs less credit than they deserve? Also, feedback as to juice delivery systems for the provari is welcomed!

Welcome amp! I lived in Lubbock for a few months. Hubby was stationed at Reese for several years, got orders the day we got married, on to the next base 3 months later. I still miss the town though.

No, imho I'd say you've pretty much hit the nail on the head as far as quality goes. :) They've been dropped out of several different stories of windows, run over by cars, and dropped in water yet still keep on working. I'd call them the Timex or American Tourister of the vape world.

As for delivery systems, I do believe quite a few Provari owners use the carto tanks like IBTanked, and I'm sure they'll jump in here soon. I'm still waiting on my first Provari, but currently like the Protank 2 with Smok Aro coils.

You totally on track for a good delivery system for one, and I think you may end up with a ProVari, so why not now?
:)
The others are good mods - but there is an actual difference in the vape with a ProVari. I think it's the chipset - I don't know for sure, but that seems the only difference that SHOULD make it different to vape...
I still use my VAMO and my SVD, but my (new) ProVari is somehow "smoother". It's got a great compact, solid feel to it.

Lubbock is a great town! I left for a few years, but the drive to the football games wasn't good so I'm back now (I actually moved back for work).

I was looking at the Smok Aro coils on madvapes, but they said they aren't compatible with non-smok devices. Have you had any problems with them? Do they work better than the Kanger coils? Are you using the ones with the flat ribbon wire or standard?

I imagine they're the standards, I picked them up here; Smoktech ARO/Tumbler Coil head replacement - 2.4ohm - 5 pack and they fit fine in my PT2. I've only loaded one so far but it's been going for a week now with no problems, and yeah they work great compared to the stock coils. With the stocks I was having to remove the silicone cap to solve wicking issues and the bottom gasket because they weren't wanting to make proper contact with my Lambo. Haven't had to fiddle with the Aros in any way.

Like an Apple product, you get what you pay for. My MacBook Pro is 3 years old and runs just as fast today as the day I bought it. My Provari provides just as good a vape from the time I install a fresh charged battery, to when the light blinks on my button prompting me to replace the battery. It Just Works.

Enjoy!

I purchased my first Provari back in February. Before that I'd tried egos, twists, & another vv box mod device. My Provari's have been my best purchase hands down. I loved the first one so much that I had a second less than a month later. And tonite I finally purchased my 3rd, a gift from my boyfriend for my 1 year vape anniversary next week.

As far as delivery methods I've used quite a few on mines with no problems...
-cartos
-carto tanks
-viva novas
-RDA's liked the Igo L
-genesis style atomizers like the RSST
-and most recently my Russian 91%

I doubt you'll be disappointed. My only regret is that I was too stubborn to buy one from the start but I don't think I would've appreciated the build quality & consistency of my vape if I hadn't gone through a couple of other pv's. You might wonder why so many of us have more than one. The answer is simple for me. Once I took my first few vapes off of my Provari if was clear to me that there was no better backup for a Provari than another Provari! Once I owned one there was no way I was willing to risk needing a repair or wanting an upgrade at some point & being without one even if it is only for a couple of days.

The Provari will take anything you throw at it. On mine I currently run carto tanks, Kayfun, gennies of all types, atomizers and today a BCC Mega because I had some favorite juice left from a tank I sold and it was an easy transfer. Versatility is what this says about the Provari. Same great vape from the first hit of a fully charged battery to the last hit before it tells you the battery is discharged.

Welcome!

Regarding the Smok Aro, I have a Tumbler, which uses the same coil. It is a very nice vape. I don't recommend the Tumbler itself through, it has eGo threading, so you have to use an adaptor on a ProVari; in fact, it needs an adaptor on my eGo threaded mods too, since it sits very low.

Hey, if it makes you guys feel better about MacBook Pro's, my late 2006 MacBook Pro (The first Core 2 Duo model) is still running like a top to this day! All I've had to replace is the battery... A Windows laptop I bought at the same time died 3 years ago...

Some folks have said that we shouldn't praise the ProVari so much to convince you to get one, because the only real way to verify that we're not full of crap is to have one in your hand and vape it for a day or two... So, with all that in mind...

JUST GET A PROVARI!

Having just gotten mine I can tell you it vapes better than anything else I've tried (including some if the systems you mention). I mean noticeable.

I thought I was just getting a higher quality device and would have been happy with that, but honestly the thing just performs way better! My tanks taste entirely different jn a good way. Flavor and throat hit are definitely better than my MVP which i was using for the last month or so.

The Vamo is tried and true BUT quality is sub-par. The Zmax has HORRIBLE air flow. Just stay away from the SID... too many friends keep asking me to fix them. The Evic is nice but the software for it is a pain to get working correctly. Does the Provari do anything the others can't? Nope. But its build quality is the main factor. If you plan on vaping awhile and want a good quality APV the Provari is a good choice. Though the others are not bad choices it just depends if you like messing with your gear. You might also want to look at the Lavatube from Volcano... its build quality is superb and comes with a warranty AND does more than the Provari with variable wattage and a higher amp limit all while not costing as much too.

DON'T DO IT! They're OUTDATED. It's like buying a 8-Track player for music. I mean, come ON! Variable VOLTAGE? Pffft!!!

I kid. I'll say just this much; not counting any rare exceptions (of which I've found exactly ONE, in 2+ years) try to find people who've purchased one and actually regrets it. It's like trying to find Yankee fans in Boston. Sure, they exist, but you can barely find them with a microscope.

If you can afford it, get it. That simple.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. ENJOY it, too (not that it needs to be said)!
