About to convert to ecigs - scared to death!

I got a vamo v5 about a week ago. Running 26mg nic juice and got a Davide bdc today. So far i haven't touched a cigarette and with the high nic levels i honestly really haven't even wanted to. I used to smoke a pack and a half a day, and regularly chained smoked 4 or 5 cigs in 30 minutes

From what i read the v5 is a bit better than v2 while still cheap. I got a v5 kit that came with 2 batteries a charger and 2 small tanks off Ebay for like 65 USD.

Cheers guambred.

A whole wealth of information I've got to try & sort out & choose

It seems you have done the hardest part already in deciding to do this, I wish I had known about this forum from the get go, but it is what it is. Your in a better place than many of us who started up on our own.

Yeah, guambred, and I am so glad I found this site - all of your replies are really encouraging, although I still can't decide what to get - I'll go through all the "Best ecigarette" threads to see what people think about the ones I've looked at & try to narrow it down.

Yeah I know it sounds a bit nerdy/geeky/...., but I want to get it right & don't want to buy the stuff & suddenly think "NOOOOO!" and go back to buying endless packs of real cigarettes!

If you want to get it right, there's nothing quite like starting where most of us *should* have started.

Simple eGo battery kit with a clearomiser and liquid.

If you move on up/across to mod e-cigs (Vamo or SID or MVP or whatever) the basic set-up will always be a great back up.

2 years ago, the Vape Escape Riva kit was the most popular choice. (Riva is eGo-K in America)

then a year back, the Double evod kit took over. These days, the Innokin iTasteVV gets a lot of attention.

For £20-£30 you can get something really good these days. What you get for that kind of money from the cig-a-like brands is barely good enough to offer a realistic idea about how good vaping can be.

The £20 mini Protank kit compared to, say, a £20 Nicolite kit is world's apart.

Just remember to shop around, whatever you choose.

Good UK shops are

Vape Escape (the original and probably the best overall)
UKecigcabin - nice selection
Myepack - cheap, especially for clearomisers
Vapeland - good "Vision" products

and

LT e-cigs for liquid. £2.40 per 10ml (cheapest) buys some of the best flavours on the market.

I've spent months researching and talking to the old salts on here and a couple of weeks ago I went all in and bought a Provari V2. After trying one cartomizer tank combination I didn't like that setup. Got a Nautilus adjustable airflow tank system with Aspire Nautilus cartomizer. I've smoked Cowboy Killers since 1984. Using 24 mg E liquid I haven't touched a cigarette since. I found that the "tobacco" flavors tasted flat. After many samplings my favorite is Sweet Tart.

Yes the Provari is expensive. But it is worth it. It'll pay for itself in three months.

haha sorry vw is variable watts and vv is variable volts the benefit is you can turn up and down the power to get a desired amount of throat it and vapor. cartomizer is a type of tank that hold your ejuice little more difficult to use the a clearmizer but you get better taste and alot of times more vapor a clearomizer a tank really easy to use just fill and vape ok vapor production and ok taste a good starting point cause the they are easily used hopes this helps a little

If you go with one of those, make sure you can return it if it doesn't work for you and try to do that quickly. I went with V2 and had them shipped back in 6 hours after receiving them. Took them to a vape shop and compared it to a very modest larger mod and barely decent tank and the 2 weren't even comparable. I got the mod and tank and have been very pleased ever since. It also ended up costing me about half what the v2 package would have cost. Always best to find a shop where you can try before you buy.

I went the V2 route, like you were considering, for nearly a year - not saying it was "bad", as we felt we needed the cig-a-like, but looking back, it was probably a mistake in that we should have switched to a good set up much sooner. The V2 and other cartos are extremely expensive, nearly as much as cigs, and you don't get the taste/satisfaction as you do with better equipment/eLiquid. But - - if you feel for a short while you need to do this to switch over, I would suggest getting the "good set-up", and then a few "packs" of NJoys or the like - then, when you're done with the cig-a-likes, make an immediate switch to your good stuff. I am not into the high dollar/mod stuff - I am happy with my eGO/Evod batteries and metal Evod/MT3 clearos - they work for me and that's all that counts. You may find you need the really good stuff later, but to each his own- - even if you buy a high-dollar mod, it's still much cheaper than smokes........

I still use my V2 and the cartos that go with! I have 2 Sigelei Zmax's now (one mini, one V3), but I thought/think the V2 wasn't all that bad actually. I understand the idea of wanting it to look and feel natural because I was the same way. I had to work my way up. I do think that you should maybe try either a disposable one or I even got a reusable one at a tobacco shop near me. I prefer the manual, but my mom still swears by the automatic (although she's still smoking too).

This is the BEST place to be though if you're wanting to make the switch, Lord knows I was asking A LOT of questions!
