ok. I think I'm getting closer.

I basically sit @ my computer at work right now and it seems like I puff away for about 2-5 min (like a normal smoke break) and the cart is dry or just plain nasty. I think I would like to go the non-dripping method, so it looks like the tank. I would probably need to research replacement parts and purchace a new one every month or so.

From what I'm reading they couple to a 510 style battery and Tanking does not require the higher voltage battery (<1000mAh) and last almost an entire day, which is preferable to me not having the luxury of dripping all day...

Atty / Steph - thanx for the juice advice. I understand the taste will be different, just looking for Menthol, not Peppermint flavor. After my transition, I might do the Desert tray...lawl.

Credo - Thanks for the comparison. I was seeing this thing the size of a cops' "D" Cell flashlight. lol.

Take a look at the Vision Extreme cartomizers.
You can get them from tiny 1.5ml sizes, on up to 5ml tanks. I like the 3.5ml size myself...just right to fill once a day and my Darwin arm can fold with it attached. These work well with eGo and Riva type batteries. Fill them once a day, no fancy tools needed...easy as pie. I use them at a cost of well under a dollar a day (they usually last pretty long time before I have to toss them)

One thing about the CE cartos and other wick feeding tanks....
They're going to have a more moderate throat hit.

For a harder throat hit you'll probably want regular cartos or atties.
You can get giant sized ones that hold up to 4ml each in dual or single coil configurations, or get them in smaller sized punched for big 'cartomizer tanks'.

Early on however, I recommend just trying the regular sized ones before investing in a tank to wrap around them. Make sure you like them first :)

Got Yelled @ for having all numbers in my username, so, the part of 1001100 will now be played by LXXVI :)

Well, TBH, I'm not sure what kind of TH I'm really looking for. but anything is better than the n00b sticks I have now. I was seriously looking at Lavatube kit. At $120 with a 30ml bottle of menthol, it's reasonable. That is a single coil cart that I refill.

Can I mix the Lavatube battery with your Vision Extreme?

I started vaping 3 weeks ago with the Ego-T starter kit (the 900 MaH battery one) and that same day I stopped smoking after 15 years of smoking a pack a day of Newports. First couple days was a little rough, especially not having my morning cig but it wasn't really that bad having the ego-t to feed my nicotine addiction.

Here's my advice; don't buy 30 MG of menthol juice or any juice until you've sampled it. Go to different websites and buy small sample packs of flavors you think you may like, I wouldn't suggest trying only menthol. I bought so many sample packs of only menthol and I realized I don't even like menthol lol (after smoking Newports for 15 yrs wtf?) Check out Pink Spot Vapors for fruity flavors, they have a few flavors "on the rocks" which they add some menthol to.

Also pick up a pack of Boge LR 2.0 cartomizers and a syringe filler, so you can see if you like the tanks or the cartomizers better.

Yep, you can put anything with 510 threads on that mod.
With adapters you can put anything else on it too (808,901,801,302, etc).

^^^ Yes. However, the LT has a 2.5 amp limit. So some DC's may be out of the question. Although, for the price it's a good mod IMO. $120 seems high to me tho. That kit you linked to is $69.00, for example. And you're set with a good charger with it too. Hint: get at least 1 (pref 2) spare battery.

...............I was actually turned on to the HealthCabin site, but have noticed delivery times are in months, not days. Any suggestion on a reliable site to order from?

That's not actually the case. If you use the EMS shipping (highly recommended), my experience as well as others on ECF have been 4 - 6 days to get to your door in the US from more popular Chinese sites.

You asked (elsewhere) about my SB compared to the BOLT. I've never used the BOLT, but it's gotten some decent reviews. My thoughts:
  • The SB takes an 18650 battery, where the BOLT takes an 18500. There is an extender for the BOLT so that it takes the longer battery. If you go with the BOLT, I'd recommend that. The 18650 is a much more common size, can get much better longevity, and also allows you to experiment with stacking batteries for high voltage (more on that below).
  • The SB is powder coated, where the BOLT has textured paint. The former probably looks better out of the box, but to be fair, it'll chip pretty easily.
  • That tank is for CE2s, rather than cartomizers. If you like clearomizers, that tank is ok. I you're unfamiliar with the difference, I see this post. If you're happy with cartomizers, I'd get a tank that takes those. The 5.5mL Phat Liquinator and 5.5mL J_Tank are specifically built with the SB diameter (a purely aesthetic concern).
  • In all truth, there won't be a lot of difference between the performance of any two non-VV 18650 mods. They're essentially just a switch to connect a battery to the atomizer.
  • Good batteries are worth the money. 'AW' branded batteries are among those in the highest regard. I like RTD Vapor (coupon code ECF5 gets 5% off), but there are other vendors linked in these forums.
    • AW Protected 18650 3100 mAh Best available battery life, but pricey.
    • AW Protected 18650 2200mAhAW Protected 18650 2200mAh Cheaper, but with lower life (still miles ahead of the Green Smoke (2200mAh vs. ~330 mAh))
    • AW LiFePO4 RCR 123 Can stack 2 of these in place of the 18650 for "6v" vaping. These, with 3Ω Boge cartomizers in a tank was one of the biggest improvements to my vaping experience. High voltage is the bomb. :)
    • Most chargers will only do one or the other (3.7v or 3.2v) of the above batteries. Ultrafire WF-188 is a good, inexpensive charger that has a selector to charge either.
FWIW, I'm currently using a Provari with a 306 atomizer as my daily. I have a lavatube too, and it's been fine. It's definitely not as well built as the provari, and I get the feeling that it's not as consistent on the power delivery. Still, it's 1/3 the price, so with that in mind, still a great bang for the buck. Honestly, though, if I'd stopped buying stuff at the SB w/tank, I think I'd have been perfectly happy. ;)

EDIT: LT failed tonight, about 2 weeks old... :(

Thanx for the advice. I'm trying to stay < $130 for everything for now. The Good news is, that if I decide to go High Voltage, it's an easy fix, or I just grab a Provari

I think the aforementioned combo will work fine as selected, and anything is better than the cheap Greensmoke combo I have now... Might upgrade to the AW 18500 /w 3000mAh batts...

Hardware alone gets me to $100, I have a choice to upgrade the battery case, batteries and the charger selected will charge both the 18500 + 18650 batteries.

The one you want (The Bolt?) is an unregulated 18500 mod with an optional 18650 extension cap available for it right? (I think they have a typo on the website...it says 18350 but I think they mean 18650)

You can just pick up that cap and a Kick button to drop in it later on, that makes it Variable Wattage (Like a Darwin).

You can run the kick from an IMR 18300 battery in that mod with a kick and no extension cap (might need some spacers, but it can be done).

Well, my main concern is that the Tank will not work with the battery, but after looking closer, the Tank itself is a 2.1-2.3 Ohm (Low Voltage) that will net me more battery life, and the BOLT is advertized it will work excellent with 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer or a 2.0 ohm or 2.5 ohm single coil cartomizer with the 18500 battery.

Looking like a pretty nice beginner rig to get me going for now.

Looks like a decent mod to me.
You have options with that for sure.

If the tank doesn't want to screw on, you can pop in a little 510>510 extension. It should screw on there without it though?

It'll safely drive the 1.5 Ohm dualies too :)

The BOLT: $45
extension: $9
J-Tank: $24
WF-188: $16
4x RCR123 $24
RTD ECF5 coupon: -$2
2x TrustFire Protected 18650 Battery, 2400 mah $14
-------------------
Total: $130

The trustfire flames are decent batteries, and this would get you a nice little setup for either voltage & a spare set of batteries of each. You could save some additional money and switch the J-Tank for a Chibi tank for around 6 bucks. It won't be the same diameter, but that's the case with most tanks.

FYI, you'll need a way to punch or slot the cartomizers... either a Dremel with a cutting wheel, or if you don't have that, here's an inexpensive solution:

Most cartomizer tanks are just a sleeve that slides over a cartomizer. Any 510 cartomizer will work with a mod like this. for 3.7v, a 2Ω single or 1.5Ω dual will be great.
