If you're looking to get into rebuildables, the IGO-L is the perfect rda to purchase. I'm having a blast with mine.

2.5mm silica wick
28 gauge kanthal
3/4 wrap
.8 ohm's
100% VG liquid
Drilled a 1/16 airhole

Freaking amazing. What's interesting is the fact that I really like the draw on the IGO-L vs. the Octopus rda and that has the same sized air hole.

Hey! Great video. I love my Igo-L as well. I drilled my air hole to 1/16 and I'm rock a .6 ohm coil...just awesome. I like it better than my $190.00 Kayfun.

Thanks! I'm right there with you. I'm having more fun with my IGO-L than I'm having with any of the genesis style atomizers that I have. Now I'm off to play with my Nimbus. Trying to get a dual coil setup to work.

I got the IGO-L in today and have to admit I'm not that thrilled with it yet. I've got a .8ohm coil on it right now and maybe I'm used to tank systems but I'm getting tired of constantly dripping. 10 drops and then maybe 5-8 draws and it needs feeding again. I guess I need to enlarge the air hole because the throat hit is too much. The flavor is great but the vapor is kinda thin.

Right now, I have to say that I like the $4 phoenix clone better.

One thing that will help: when you mount the coil in the IGO, leave even-length legs to the posts to get the coil right on the airhole instead of closer to the posts, which leaves it near the center and too far from the airhole — causing that throat hit. It's like moving the airhole off-center to the wick on a genesis — the throat hit gets unbearable. The legs won't glow as long as they're close to the same length.

A phoenix is smaller in diameter and doesn't suffer as much from the "off-center coil" throat hit as much as the IGO.

You can get far more than 10 drops in it with more wick. I had a setup running for a good week that easily held 35 drops. A carto holds 30+, so it's not like you need to fill the cap with wick; just use enough to wrap around and fill the well.

Thanks for the tips. I'm not near done playing with it!

I took a 1/16" bit and drilled out the airhole, then kept going and drilled out the opposite side of the top cap. It is airy for sure, but I have it set up with dual coils of folded 3mm silica and 3/2 wraps of 28 AWG Kanthal. I read on another post that with the IGO-L on sub 1ohm coils, if you don't have adequate airflow your juice will atomize but not vaporize, hence the harsh TH. And like StaircaseWit mentioned, I tuck the wick ends under their respective coils to fill the well. I can drip about 25-30 drops easy. I have to admit I'm a dripping fool right now, my gennys & carto tanks are being seriously neglected at the moment.

Great thread guys and gals! Thanks for all the info and pics! Been looking into a RDA and I think I might just try one of these to start with! :)

I highly recommend it for as cheap as they are. It's the perfect RDA if you're a beginner.

I drilled out my air hole with a 1/16 bit.. much better. I'm running a 1.3 ohm coil at 3.5v, I tried .8 but it was just too hot for me.. even at 2.9v on the provari. Very nice vape :D

Damn, you're pushing that Provari to the limit. Cool! Must have been at least .83 if you got it to fire at all. Look at you, wrapping coils right down to the 100ths. :)

Anyway, I drilled out mine to 1/16 too and it is much better.

LOL... I'm not a coil wrapping guru, that's for sure. The coil metered at .8 on the Provari and it fired at 2.9v. I know that's just over the amp limit so I figure there was some loss in the IGO-L when it fired. .8 isn't optimal on the Provari because even if it fires at 2.9v, I'm only getting 10.5 watts, so if I bump up the resistance to 1.3, I can run it at 4.4 and get 14.8 watts and still stay just under the amp limit.
I used it for a little while but it was hot and not very pleasant. I put it on the EA and it was worse. I took off the coil and added a couple more wraps to get it higher. While I like the vape... it's restricted to my desk cause I quit carrying around a bottle years ago and I'm not about to start doing that again! I add about 25-30 drops at each fill and this thing goes through juice faster than my genesis' do.

I've never been able to get into dripping, but for this price and all the love that this little beast receives from ECF members, I will be ordering one immediately. Worst case scenario I am out $18, seems pretty dumb to not try this thing out.

I dripped exclusively for 6 months or so back before cartomizers became popular. It was a hassle but it was/is what it was/is. I was never particularly fond/good at it but it was my only option as a juice delivery system back then. I happily gave it up when cartos came out.. wow.. I could go more than a couple minutes without having to drip. Then came carto tanks and once I got over the learning curve (flooding) I happily used them for a year or more. Then RBAs became more mainstream and I became curious. Now I've come back full circle.. unregulated voltage (using a mech) and dripping LOL.. just like the old days with an ego and an atty.

rebuildable dripping attys with silica are quite a bit different than dripping on the attys I once used... not really interested in trying to put mesh on one right now but later, who knows (I'll save that for a rainy day)

I've been doing side by side taste comparisons between ss, silica and cotton. Except for the Terminator C, which for some reason produces an extremely tasty vape with silica, nothing in the drippers with silica or cotton come even remotely close to the flavor of ss in a genny... at least as far as I'm concerned. So I'm only using ss U wicks in my drippers now. With this setup, I use the drippers for juice tasting. When I'm ready for the perfect, no fiddly vape, the good juices go straight into the aga t or the Terminator C.

The point is that for me, these RDAs perform good enough to serve a purpose, and they do it rather well.

I personally find no taste difference between my IGO-L silica vs my ss genesis atomizers.

The flavor might be a bit more intense on the genesis due to the higher wattage and constant wicking within a tank. But I get all the nuances in my IGO that I do with my genesis.

It's an incredibly good device for the price. It even performs well at high wattage ... you just have to drip more often. I was surprised at how well the $13 IGO performs. Makes a great pocket friendly atomizer for a mechanical.
