I just got this from Perfumer's Apprentice:

Perfumers Apprentice - Nutty Notes

I tested it out by putting a drop along with a couple drops of PG & flavoring in an atty. This stuff is good. It creates that nutty aftertone that is the base of so many vendor's juices. And it's listed in the ingredients of Tasty Vapor, Dekang, Vapor Station (all I can think of that actually list their ingredients). I'm not sure exactly how much to use. In the description it says to use 10.0000 ppm (refers to the undiluted material) for flavoring. Can math people help me out? What does that mean percentage wise and if that would be applicable since this is diluted? I see it's diluted 10% in alcohol, but just wondering if anyone has an idea of how much I should use or just wing it.

I would encourage any DIYers that want to add an extra dimension to get this stuff. It may be very useful in creating a good 555 recipe as well.

I also got guaiacol, but haven't used it yet. It smells smokey, kinda mesquitey.

Parts per million is just like percent except instead of 1/100 it's 1/1,000,000. If it's already at 10%, that's 1/10, so to get to 10/1,000,000 (10 ppm) you'd need to dilute the 10% solution at 1/10,000 which would be 1 drop in about 300ml (assuming 33 drops/ml). I'd say their recommendation for concentration is not for vaping, and probably for food. Probably better to try it at 1% at first, or maybe 0.1% by diluting some in PG before mixing with it.

How'd I know it'd be you? :p Thanks! I'll try approx. 1% and then go to a dilution solution if it's too strong.

Yeah, I'm really excited about this ingredient and hoping that it will be a regular part of my arsenal.

Goodgirl redgirl!..this is very good news! - Don't know what to suggest, just here for moral support really :)
This is hardcore DIY, but the good thing is, PA has all the ingredients to make all sorts of tobacco flavors.

The dilutions and PPM's confuse me too, looks like it's going be a lot of trial and error - The Dekang recipe calls for 1.5% acetyl pyrazine, but 1.5% of what dilution percentage?

redgirl would you do me a big favor?...you're probably busy right now with all your flavors and whatnot, but if you get a chance could you give the new tobacco flavor a quick puff, and give us a mini review :)

I had miso soup. Mmm Mmm.

Well, I mixed the tobacco up and if you've ever tried Flavourart's amber, it's very similar. I really don't get much tobacco at all. It's light, slightly sweet & fruity, kind of reminiscent of a sweet amber beer. I'm sure adding some other ingredients would make it very good, though.

i got some AP after you mentioned it on the other forum (i think it was you)... haven't messed with it yet, but it smells very nice. i have too many flavors to mess with here.

i end up working my DIY juice like sourdough starter. i refill when i'm down to about 1/2 ml (or less) in a 7ml bottle and diy up a flavor again that's pleasing. half the time i screw up the vapor consistency so i have to add more of this and that drops of flavor after vg/pg/vodka/watering it up again. i think the vapor is a dud because of the potency of PA flavors and not willing to let it sit and steep awhile before vaping. I forget who, but someone mentioned adding vodka to clear that problem of little vapor with concentrated flavors. great tip btw!

nothing is measured, but i use my tried and true PA flavors until 'aw screw it - close enough is good enough' ...

when i vape the bottle down again, it gets yummiest at the 1/2 ml left in the bottle so i start all over again ;)

Do you just vape one flavor at a time and only DIY? I have to have, like 15 flavors with me at all times in case I get bored!

pretty much. i have a coke chaser diy juice when i get bored with ry4'ish juice lol.

turned my neighbor on to vaping last night with a PT and carto. she smelled my strong cola diy and i then pg'd it down a bit and added 50mg xtremevaping juice. asked her which one she wanted... the watered down flavored one ;)

that cola from PA makes juice pretty damn strong. i think i can handle the TH, and then i have to park the bottle until i have time to cut it some more.

i have some root beer flavor. i think i'll play with that one next.

yes, i still buy commercial juice, but i have several different ones from last dec, like good 555, etc, that i'm able to do more diy and still have known good juice.

my trouble is some of the newer juices i've tried don't do it for me. i have a bottle of rath waffle that i won and even my neighbor said, 'i'm not smelling waffle'. more like cream soda.

so i figure, it's looking more like DIY is a better value. nothing worse than buying juice and not being able to vape it because it's nasty.
