Hey all... looking for some help from the more knowledgeable people here about AP... I like the "nuttier" tobaccos, and after doing some reading, I picked a bottle of AP from TPA.... just a couple of questions about this one in particular...

Do I need to dillute this version? I've found some that state that they are 5% in PG (this is one of them).... what's the ideal down mix for this ingredient to make it usable in a juice, or is this ready to add as is?

Is the recommended percentage 1% or so? I've seen some more conflicting opinions on this as well.

I'm mainly trying to prefect a 555 "base" that I can then modify later. Right now, what I am working with is:
3ml tester batch
50/50 mix
5 drops of vaping Zone's SC 555 (from the VZ bottle)
1 drop of TPA SMOOTH
3 drops of EM

Its so far great as is (made it on 5-1-13), hot bath, three day steep. It just seems to be missing that "Nuttiness" that most vendor 555's have, and I am assuming that the AP will help to develop this.

Thanks for the help guys!!:matrix:

You add the AP as is. When they say it's 5%, it means that's the actual amount of the AP. Just like Ethyl Maltol is not straight EM. It's diluted in PG since the natural/original state is crystallized. As far as what to actually do with the AP, I don't really know. Bought it as a tobacco additive for the same reason you did. (supposed to add a nutty taste) Hope I helped at least a little

Usually, AP is added to DK Tobacco in mixing 555. If you are using a 555 concentrate you don't need the AP.

Huh. Well, that's good to know at any rate... I'd thought of adding it to a few of my other juices (have a peach cobbler that could use the nuttiness, and I'd wager it would be good in some double RY4 as well). Thanks for the info guys!

I use the TFA AP. To me it's sort of nutty, sort of like corn chips. I use it between .5% and 1%. As an add on its only slightly nutty. Where it really shines is helping to bring out nuttiness. For example: my nutty ry4s get FA nut mix at 2%. The AP added on really brings that nuttiness to the front....
I even have a mix I call "sweetos": 5% TFA caramel, 1% AP, 2% EM (10%) solution.. Ta da ... Sweet fritos

If you like a slightly sweeter 555 vapingzone's sc parliament is a better 555 base than the '555' named flavoring.

Yeah, got some of the Parliament in, and you're right... its pretty damned good! Was surprised that it was "what I was looking for", considering the 555 was the one I liked the most from most vendors... odd that the 555 SC wasn't as "555-y" as I'd have hoped. Parliament wins in my book...

Back to the topic of the AP, I REALLY like it added to RY4s and some of the dessert vapes... really gives them that something "extra". Gonna have to try those "sweetos", sounds like something I'd like....

I add it to my hangden T5 (There verson of 555) at not more then 1%. It's true that 555 has it in it but that doe not nessessarly mean you should not add it. Some 555's don't have enough nutty flavor. So try the 555 that you have alone. If it's not nutty enough add AP but as mentioned it is potent so no more then 1%.
