I'm sorry, but I do not personally like those people.

I saw in the news where they were trying to tell illegal mexicans to just ignore the border patrol and that they had the right to do whatever they wanted. There's just so many things that the ACLU does that irks me so badly.
They need to get ACLU ;)

We (those of us who know we are nicotione addicts) all have a genetic pre-disposistion to nicotine- it is in our genes. Genetically we are a minority. So as a minority who's rights may be violated- yes please contact the ACLU and get them on my side.

FDA- **** Off

Absolutely right. And there are studies to show it

Drug addiction genes identified | Science | Reuters

Genetically Vulnerable to Addiction

And many more articles if you look.

The problem with nicotine addiction is not so much the addiction but the "quit or die" stance of the anti-gangs. Nicotine is not a completely safe drug, even if it were not addictive. But there are greatly reduced risk was of getting it rather then with cigarettes.

Certainly the tyranny of the majority is at play.

How far afield can conservatives stray before they fall off the flat earth.

Judging from Rush as an example,,, quite far indeed. lol

Remember when Bill Clinton and George Bush 1 got together on the aids issue?? That was pretty effective.

It seems to me that we have an issue here that crosses ideology. It's common sence. If there is a product that promises to reduce harm to nicotine addicts,,, the FDA should at the very least, keep open to the possibility that the industry can come back with a product that it will approve.

By thier actions, the FDA has taken a stand that favors a product that has been proven harmful, which is the exact opposite of it's mandate. There may have in fact been traces of the offending elements in the particular products tested, but they went way beyond the scope of the study, and issued a blanket condemnation of the entire industry.

The ACLU would be interested in such a thing,,, and if it could be found that the FDA was prejudicial in it's announcements, and in issuing it's pronouncements, they were favoring the interest of big tobacco and anti smoking groups and were in colusion to prevent a safer product from being developed,,, hmmmm.

I do hope you are aware that the ACLU defended druggy Limbaugh when the government was trying to get at his medical records

American Civil Liberties Union : ACLU Asks Court to Protect Confidentiality of Rush Limbaugh's Medical Records

So according to your view the constitution is an iffy radical idea, and you place the ACLU on the same level as the KKK. How far afield can some conservatives stray before they fall off the flat earth.

I may misunderstand you, were you calling me a conservative, or calling Rush a conservative? I actually have no political affiliation at all. I'm not republican, democrat, or independent, or any other party out there. My views are a mix of what a person would call all of the political parties. I am prolife, for gay marriage, etc etc. It's a strange combo that I have going on.

I was just saying that the ACLU and KKK both have "extreme" views on things. Yes, the ACLU has extreme views on the constitution. They want to protect criminals and tell illegal aliens to come on over and ignore that pesky border patrol. I can't remember the list of other crazy things that they have done at the moment, but it's all stuff that I was like "What the hell?".

I'm just saying that there are a lot of people in this country who associate anything that has to do with the ACLU as shady since they have been known to often try to help people get around issues that really shouldn't be got around. In our case, yes we should be allowed to use PVs as long as it isn't hurting anyone around us and as long as it isn't as dangerous as smoking. But still, there is a stigma with the ACLU.

And I understand where you are coming from, I was just throwing my opinion out there to let people know what I have seen in my community coming from other people about their thoughts on the ACLU.

I could say a good deal on the misconceptions you have about the ACLU. You clearly have been listening to the neo-cons.

The ACLU was keeping an eye on the actions of the minutemen. This is a citizens group that was patrolling the Mexican border a few years back (I don't know if they still are). They were making sure the minutemen were not abusing the rights of illegals coming into the country. Yes, try and get your head around this thought, a true shocker, even illegal immigrants have rights under the constitution.

Another great shocker, even criminals have rights, and especially people accused of a crime but not yet convicted.

That damn constitution is such a pesky little document that causes so many problems for some people.

I am not partial to them either but we have little choice for Allies
the enemy of my enemy is my friend :sneaky:

Like the press , the unions , the ACLU had a purpose which has become twisted ,perverted and mutated .:grr:

And while i can admire that quality in some people. 8-o

I see little choice in this matter

I'm sorry, but when did defending the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which is all the ACLU does, become the work of an extreme organization that is equated to the KKK?

I do believe someone needs to do their homework. The reason we live in a Republic is so the rights of the minority can not be trampled by the tyranny of the majority. This is why we have a the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and every day those rights are being slowly whittled away by people w/o your interests in mind. I do believe these guys could be helpful to our cause.

Best Regards,

Mr.E
