In the videos and various reviews people are saying that the DCC's max out at 3.8 volts, even though the tube reads 6. From what I can see most of these numbers are based on LR DCC's like 1.5, 1.8 and such. Has anyone managed to get a real reading on a 2.5 DCC or higher? Anytime I have seen numbers for higher ohm cartos it seems as though they are using SCC's.

Thanks in advance!

I just got some 2.5 and 1.5 DC's for my tank.

I had a couple of 1.5 that worked out great before, and now I'm trying out a 2.5 ohm in my tank. My experience so far with this 2.5 that I'm just now trying is mediocre so far.

It looks like I'm leaning more toward the 1.5 DC's.

So far the 2.5's seem like they are getting too much power, and muted flavor.

My best vape so far has been a 1.5 DC at 5.6 volts. Good TH and flavor.

Having only tried carto's for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad that the first ones I got were 1.5 and not 2.5, otherwise I probably would have thought that all carto's in general were junk.

The 2.5's BTW has work on all the ranges of my LT.

But it looks like I'll be putting these 2.5 ones to the side and order more 1.5's. The 2.5's I will be saving for emergencies.

Sorry to double post. But I didn't like the 2.5's at this moment so much that I switch to a new 1.5DC.

I don't think the 2.5DC was getting enough juice inside, even though I had widened the hole, the top of the inside looked dry. Plus the heat was transferring from the cart to my metal drip tip, and making it hot on my lips. And I know what you guys would say 'lower the voltage.' But I had it turned up for TH.

Anyways, the 1.5 is way better, for now. And I'll mess around more with these 2.5's when I get bored.

I have 2.5 dual coil carto's. Does anyone know if madvapes inline meter will work with lavatube? I know it does not work with ego batteries. I have looked around the web and all the inlines look like same kind of meter

Right now, it depends on whether the LT has a linear regulator or a pulse width modulated regulator. If it's PWM, then no. It will just flash 888s. Madvapes says they are working on fixing that if you read the description on the page under the digital voltmeter.

Right ...dont know if mv's inline meter will work or not....

But already know with the 2.5 amp limit the only way to get full range of volts is a 2.5 twin coil. Real world comparision no where's the power with the vv compared to my vz mod that does not have a 2.5 amp limit.

6v blew my head off with that mod. I tried a bunch of HV single coil cartos and scorched everything I had. It definitely has the power that's for sure

I bought mv's inline meter to check different carto's under load. These vv mod's are nice for ego battery users but if you want true hv look into something like vapingzone's vz mod.....true 6 volts no matter what you use

I need an inline volt meter, and seems all places are sold out. You said you got yours from mad vapes? Where? I'm looking all over thier website and can't find it!!! Can you post a link to it? Thanks.

ok nevermind, I finally found it at mv with some digging. Below is the link for anyone else.

Don't want to play devils advocate here but it's not possible for the lavatube to run at 5.6 volts with a 1.5dcc. It is most likely running at around 3.9 volts.

All I can say is: Do you own a Lavatube?

I've tried my LT with all the voltage possibilities on a 1.5 carto.

I figured if your statement is correct, then I should at least get the same TH on at at least 4.0

But it's not. My LT is workning at all levels of the 1.5DC and 5.6 is working just fine for me.

I've read all the the hype about carto's not working at certain voltage's on the LT. And that the LT drops the voltage at a certain point due to some overload protection, and that an overload protection circuit is built in.

But I must say that I've tried my 1.5DC at levels, thinking that I should get the same TH at 3.9, or 4.0, but I'm not.

My 1.5DC with a tank is perfect at 5.6

Maybe my LT is working at less than 5.6 and it's really at 4.2. I wouldn't know. But regardless. Even if I'm overworking the carto, it's still worth it.

What he is saying is that if you hook up a inline volt metter to your LT, you are not going to get more than 3.7/3.8volts if you are using a 1.5 DC, reguardless what you set the LT to. This has been proven in many youtube vids. You are saying you are getting different TH if you change the volts on the LT and using a 1.5. Unless your LT is faulty, thats really not possible.

I just ordered a volt meter from madvapes. I'm going to do some testing with different ohm DC's, to actually see whats achieved.

How many think it is SAFE to try to vape at 5.6 volts with a 1.5 ohm carto (single or dual coil).

That would be about 21 watts. The current drawn from an 18650 size battery would be close to 6 amps.

EDIT: Considering a probable conversion efficiency of less than 90% for a boost mod, and voltage sag at this level of current drawn from a single 18650 cell, vaping at 5.6 volts with a 1.5 ohm load would be about 7 amps at the battery. That sounds like vaping in the RED ZONE to me :)
