I purchased a Protege recently adapted for 801 attys and did not realize that it will only use DSE 801 attys. I have a lot of Janty Kissbox 304 and Joye 302 attys that all interchange with my DSE 801 batteries and vice versa. Is there any adapter that I can use with the Protege for these other attys?

From what I have read no you cannot use the 302. I have several 302 attys but I have read that it can fry the atty. If I am wrong please let me know. I use a 901/510 adapter on mine until I buy a 510 adapter. I have 2 801 attys but one is for HV.I love the 302 attys too. I use them on with my Joye V3. I would email them and ask to make sure.

I use 302s on my 801 Protégé all the time!
Thats good to hear. I have never tried using mine. I guess I was wrong. I thought I had heard that somewhere on here that it could fry the atty but I guess not. Thanks for letting me know. Do you use an adapter for it since I guess the 801 adapter for the protege doesnt fit from what the OP said?

Nope, no special adapter... I have the 801 adapter fitting that came with the Protege, and the 302 is just fine with it.

I think it is probably a problem with someone getting a protege 801 adapter fitting that had the post length off on it and it needed to be adjusted. I'm vaping away on a pink 302 on my Protege right now. :D Maybe it was a bad run of 302 threads? Dunno... mine are all fine.

I do recall someone had reported shorted out attys, and perhaps the 302 got blamed (which is ridiculous).

302 is a great atty. I started buying them when the RN4072 got scarce and too expensive. Joye (2 hole) and Boge(4 hole) make them (I have both). PM me if you need some sources.

My 302 and 304 atty's will screw onto the Protege 801 adpater but they don't connect in the middle so they don't heat up. I have read on Heaven Gifts that you can stick a tooth pick in the hole of some attys to adjust/pull them up a little. Haven't tried that yet. Newb and don't want to ruin an atty. I was wondering if there was some kind of metal washer I could put in between the adapter and atty to make contact.
