I've been reading a lot int this forum about the "missing" thing in e-cigs. Some of then (DVap mainly, if I remember his name correctly) are advocates of extracting most alkaloids from tobacco. Some others (including myself, but I know nothing about chemistry) want to add the missing alkaloid(s). I've seen a couple of guys here that said they added harmine or passion flower extract (that I believe, contains harmine) to their e-juice, and that it worked great. It just seems to me that if harmine IS the missing thing (might be, right?) then why would we add so many other toxic stuff. The only problem is I have NO IDEA how much harmine is in tobacco. I know that harmine can be dangerous, but if we just don't add more than there is on tobacco then it cannot be any more dangerous than normal cigarettes (right?). Isn't it that the whole point of vaping?. So can any one give a very rough approximation of how much harmine I'm getting in my lungs when smoking an analog? I just don't want to overdose myself. And, yea, e-cigs are just not giving me the whole thing. It's like: "I want a smoke, but I should vape instead". I don't seem to be getting addicted to the e-cig. And according to what I've been reading, MAOI's (like harmine) play a big role on generating addiction.

Are you referring to adding toxic stuff to e-juice or cigs? If e-juice, it is still less toxic to vape versus smoking.

The only problem is I have NO IDEA how much harmine is in tobacco. I know that harmine can be dangerous, but if we just don't add more than there is on tobacco then it cannot be any more dangerous than normal cigarettes (right?).
Who does know how much harmine is in tobacco, or for that matter how much of any other toxic chemicals are in cigs?

Your reasoning is like comparing apples to horse apples. The stuff we get from cigs is through COMBUSTION. Whereas the stuff we get from vaping is VAPOR. There is no burning. That alone alters any chemical's structure.

Isn't it that the whole point of vaping?.
I would think so.

So can any one give a very rough approximation of how much harmine I'm getting in my lungs when smoking an analog?
I don't think anyone can. It would require a lab, a chemist, etc; plus tons of money.

I just don't want to overdose myself. And, yea, e-cigs are just not giving me the whole thing. It's like: "I want a smoke, but I should vape instead". Unfortunately, there are others in the same boat. I would suggest that you go to the subforums, especially, "What's under your lip," and I believe the other one is "Are we getting it?".

Not understanding why you want to get addicted, unless it's to subplant the smoking with something less harmful.
