Adult non-smokers taking up vaping

How do you feel about adult non-smokers taking up vaping?

  • Not under any circumstances

  • As long as they use zero nicotine

  • Only if they are using nicotine for health reasons

  • Adults can do whatever they want

People have rights,
If people want to vape they can vape.
I don't advise it but I don't ban it, Although it is different for different ages.
Say you are 53 and have smoked your whole life, I would URGE you to vape instead.
Say you are 16 and have smokes for a few years, I would recommend vaping as a safer alternative if you can't quit.

Totally agree with the previously expressed opinions in this thread/poll , and I voted "Adults can do whatever they want , regardless of consequences", although I don't like too much the "regardless of consequences", as if people were unaware of these consequences, do you see what I mean? I would say "being aware of the consequences", and put the stress on each person's ability to know what s/he is doing even if it's not harmless for her/his health.

Adults certainly can make their own choices, but I personally feel it's one of the stupidest things in the world for a non-smoker to start vaping liquid containing nicotine. For an occasional cigar smoker who just wants something to puff on, it would make more sense to me. I want to vote "no-nic", but I agree with adults being able to do as they please. Soo...maybe I just won't choose an option.

As for future regulations...I don't know. More people equals more voices, but also more potential tax revenue for a government that is already eyeballing our small culture of vaping. And if non-smokers start becoming addicted to nicotine through the use of PV's.....there is definitely going to be a big outcry.

I am a non-smoker, so yes I see nothing wrong with it. Though if you are not addicted to nicotine I see no reason to risk getting hooked.

I think that it could be a good thing if different types of people got involved. It might be less likely to be regulated to death if it is seen as more than just to quit smoking or as a substitute.

Nice to see a non-smoker's point of view. We thank you. I watched PBusardo's youtube vid of Vapefest. A guy near the end of the video has a compelling argument for non-smokers vaping nicotine. It's not going to be a common reason for a non-smoker to vape nicotine, but he's an adult that made his own choice and it is helping him.

I had a problem with the 'regardless of consequences' part of choice 4. Nothing should ever be done 'regardless of consequences'. Considering the consequences is what separates adults from teenagers and children.

I do not pretend to speak for any one else. But perhaps the intend was not to have others decide we can not do something because of the consequences. Like we are now being told we can not use certain drugs.

While I will not encourage an adult non-smoker to take up vaping. My feelings on the matter are quite simple. They are an adult. They are going to do as they please. And it isn't my business to tell them what they can an cannot do--provided they are not causing harm to me.

As such while I'd advise against it if asked, I have no problem with a non-smoking adult taking up vaping regardless the nicotine content of their juice.

I voted "Adults can do whatever they want, regardless of consequences" but that's not entirely true, of course killing someone, abusing someone, etc is unacceptable. ;)

Anyway, to me vaping is kind of like drinking coffee. Of course you can be 25 years old and never tried it, but if you wake up one day and get the sudden urge to try a cup to see what all the fuss is about it's nothing wrong with that, it doesn't make you stupid and no one should look down on you for that.

Consenting adults are fair game. Nonsmoking adults have the right to buy a pack of cigarettes, they should have the right to pick up a PV, or a bottle of beer, or whatever else they want to.

This

I picked the adults can do whatever they want choice but it's more "nicotine is legal for adults to use"

I voted "adults can do whatever they want", but honestly I think it's a stupid thing to do especially if not vaping 0% nic.

I tell the kids I work with all the time that the dumbest thing I've ever done is start smoking. For me vaping is a better alternative since NRT products never did anything to help me quit. I honestly think I'm more addicted to the habit than the nicotine, and once I'm more entrenching in vaping I'll start dropping the nic levels.

Some people jump to the conclusion that a non-smoker who picks up vaping is a young person. This is a stereotype. I've met people in their 60's who never smoked and have started vaping. I believe that adults can make their own decision to vape or not to vape, after all nobody questions them when they buy cigarettes at the store.

I started smoking in college. I only smoked when I was out or having a few, but as I got older, I would do it more often to eleviate stress. I finally got myself back down to only smoking when I was out with friends or not at all, but I missed it. I started vaping because I knew that when I became stressed, I would want one, so I bought one, put it in my car along with a pack of cigarettes. I smoked one puff of the electronic cigarette and threw the analogs away. I only do 6mg of nicotine, just for that little edge. Sometimes I do 0mg and sometimes I do 4mg. Anything over, makes me cough. It's embarassing because the B&M puts 12mg in the tanks for customers to try, which is smart because they can decide their doseage based on the nicotine concentration, but I'm always a coughing mess when I try stuff.

I say this because I would rather someone having never smoked pick up an electronic cigarette over an analog.
