Here: DMM 503 Extra and Additional Services

Do note it says:

So what information they are going to record - and then store... could be "interesting." I'm not thrilled with the idea of someone saving a copy of my signature for two years for unspecified reasons.

And from what I read the cost for this service is $5.70 - not 75 cents.

Whoa, did not know they keep it on file for two years! What's up with that

This will be great if they can get away with it. I think that the FDA regs are going to require that the seller verify age at the time of sale and not at the time of delivery. But, it will be very nice if they are able to get away with only having an adult signature at time of delivery.

During the interview with the FDA they did state that online sales will have to follow the same rules as face to face sales. We shall soon find out.

I saw this earlier this morning on Lightning Vapes site.

I live in Chicago and b/c of problems involving theft of packages here I use my folks US Postal addy in the suburbs for all deliveries.

This is going to drive my family nutz. I'm in my 50's by the way.

CYA measure. If the recipient claims that they never signed for it (scam), Post Office can pull the record and prove they did. Or, can prove that the delivery person never did check and let a minor sign for it. Either way, 2 year retention isn't that huge of a deal.

how many of us are actually home at the time of delivery to sign?? I would have to take a day off of work to get my package...

I used to have to put up with signature required packages ocassionally from UPS and Fed Ex. It's a hassle. You'd think that we could do a one time visit to the local post office, present an ID, and have our address updated in the computer to reflect verified signature on file.

Being retired, I'm home most of the time in the afternoons. I get my errand running done in the mornings.

Don't you have to be over 18 to get a credit card? I guess the FDA wants to know that an adult signed for it to prevent kids from using Mom or Dad's credit card. That's really an issue that would be evident when the bill came it. I don't see it as a REAL problem, anyway. It would be hard for an underage teenager to hide vaping from their parents.

If you're not home, you'll get a notice stating signature required and directing you to visit your post office to claim your package. UPS and Fedex will do the same if they can't catch you at home after x number of tries, and direct you to one of their distribution spots to claim your package, which might be a farther trip than your local post office station.

I know with UPS that if they miss you and signature is required that the notice they leave you has a spot to sign on the back. Then you leave it for them when they deliver the next day. I don't know how USPS does it if they miss you.

I don't like the idea; I'm often not at home. The Post Office is supposed to notify me when they have attempted delivery, but on at least one occasion, they didn't, and then, three weeks later when I finally got the notice, thery had returned it to the sender--who never got it. Going to the Post Office to pick up mail is a colossal nuisance.

To be honest, I wish that all of my packages would require a signature, not just vaping supplies.

Far too often, packages that I order are just left downstairs in a lobby, for anybody to snatch.

It would give me more peace of mind, if everything required a signature, as long as the shipping costs remained the same and didn't cost more.

Several years ago I came home to a package containing almost $1,000 in ammunition, plastered with "ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED" stickers. I'm happy that one didn't grow legs and walk away while I was out.

And driving Postal workers crazy with this crap. Just what we need - another reason for a Postal employee to go... Postal.

Hell, where I am even when signature is required they don't bother. Wonder what the recipient is actually getting on their end for those "signature required" deliveries?
My mailbox is on the street. Several times I've been sitting in the living room, seen the mailman drive down the street, and gone out to find one of those "Delivery attempted" notes in my mailbox. Apparently MY definition of "attempted" is somewhat different from the postal carrier's. :-x

"Adult signature required" means they have to see your government issued identification before you sign and THEN you get the package. Different from simple, signature required.

I guess if you live in a NYC apartment, required signature on all packages would be beneficial. But ... I live in a house in the suburbs. I wouldn't want to have to drive to the post office or UPS pickup facility every time a package was delivered that wouldn't fit in my mailbox. It actually pisses me off when some companies require a signature if the shipment is over a certain dollar amount. I have surveillance cameras. Only an idiot would steal a package that was left sitting on my front porch.

On another note, I've lived in apartment complexes in the past that would sign and store packages for you. Just had to drive a half mile to the leasing office to pick them up.

I just moved from an apt to my new house. That is the way it was there. All packages were brought to the office and they signed for them. That was their policy I guess there were so many of them that they didn't want to have to deal with it so all delivery trucks counting usps had to deliver to the office. A pain if you weren't home by 5.

I had to take off work and drive 60 miles to the nearest UPS facility to show my ID and sign for Snus. Never again!

It was my own fault. I thought they would leave a note on my door and I could just sign the note and they would leave my package. Oh, hell no! Not for a tobacco product. LOL

Only problem I have with this is the age requirement. I think it should be 18, and for the states that do 21 for tobacco make it 21. Why? Because I'm 19 and legally allowed to purchase vaping gear, and cigarretes. I guess I can't order from this supplier. I hope to God that not all the suppliers won't be doing this.

21 and older is a load of bs for sure!

Got this e-mail from Lighting Vapes. It has begun.
"Adult Signature to be required on e-liquid & coil head orders soon.
Within the next few weeks, we will be requiring adult signatures on any orders containing e-liquid, coil heads, the 521 Tab, and any other products we sell with nicotine, or which could be used out of the box to deliver nicotine. This does not include wire, batteries, basic tools, or wicking material. What an adult signature means is that a person 21 years or older with government issued photo ID present will be required to sign for the package upon delivery."
Is this on all orders or only Florida orders?
