The number #1 reason woman do not quit smoking, and i suspect this holds true for many urban males as well, is the well documented weight gain.

Being that one does not gain weight from e-cigarettes, I am surprised I have not seen this being used as an advertisement for e-cigarettes.
I would bet that IF it were, it would bring vaping to the attention of MANY!

That is if I am right and it hasn't yet been used............

It is not confirmed rumor. There were no studies.

Personally I believe it is true, but I would not advertise because I am just believing in by belief.

There is some truth in your post ;)
I had quit smoking (cheated here and there) for 9 months, pre vaping. Gained weight and I tried soooooooo very hard to lose it. Nothing was working. I went back to smoking and the weight just melted off.

Vaping, didn't gain any extra for a Very Long time. Then I got lazy and gained a few. Upside? I was able to exercise without getting winded halfway through the routine. I have since been able to shed those extra, plus a few more, and I am right on track.

Some people are able to not gain, unfortunately, it is not the norm. Some do gain and there have been a few threads discussing this very thing. I don't think there are enough, that have not had the weight gain, to warrant that claim. It is about a 50/50 toss up, from what I have read. I will see if I can dig up the links to those threads and post them.

I worked with a forming carpenter about 30 years ago--hard physical labour--we decided to quit smoking together. I lasted 8 months and then went back to smoking--I didn't gain nor lose a pound,he on the other hand, blew up by 60lbs. He has never lost that weight but he has remained smoke free.

I have been smoke free for 7 weeks and have been vaping for almost 4 months now. I'm retired now and the only exersize I get is chopping a little firewood. Food tastes so much better too. Still I haven't lost nor gained a pound. I have more energy and stamina and I sleep better. I'm also not wasting so much energy coughing!

I have a niece who is 28 years old with 2 kids and like all young women these days she was concerned about her weight. She looked pretty normal to me--certainly not
what I refer to as chunky. She has been vaping for 9 months and told me she has lost 15lbs by cutting out deserts and other sweets, which was easy to do with all the yummy flavors available for vaping.

Just a little ancedotal evidence I'm throwing out there. I really don't care about my weight--I'm too busy trying to fool fish.

Also there was some brand a few years ago that sold 0mg disposables that were marketed as dessert substitutes. They came in bright colors, dessert flavors, and were clearly marketed towards women. Don't remember the company or product name.

The company was called Vaportrim and it looks like they were out of business by 2012.

Isn't nicotine a known appetite suppressant? That was one of the reasons I had heard that's why so many runway models smoke, to help keep their weight down.

I do believe it is. Most of us quickly are able to lower the nic content that we buy. I think that is also a part of why I gained those extra pounds. I went from 24mg to where I am today at 6mg nic. I slowly lowered the nic over a period of two years.

I don't know…I've gained weight since I started vaping. Not as much as I used to when I tried to quit cold turkey, because then you're just eating constantly to compensate for not having a cigarette in your mouth. But I can smell now, and taste, and everything is 10x more delicious than it was when I smoked, so I'm enjoying food more and eating more of it because.

I'm not stressing about it, but I think it's one of those things that is highly dependent on the person.
