I'm loving my Vmod. But I need to know the best way to clean the bottles that are used with them. I didn't have any problem with the one in the kit (in fact, I sort of didn't bother to clean it before using it). But my 2 spare bottles arrived the other day...and I used one of them last night. I was vaping along happy as a clam..then switched to the new bottle that I'd prefilled a bit earlier in the evening. BAM! Two puffs into it (using the same Silo and same juice) and it tasted AWFUL! I thought maybe my Silo fried. Or something else was wrong. I tried three more cartomizers and an atomizer...and they all tasted major funky! Really depressed me. For one, I thought the Silo had crapped out after only one day. .

This morning I poured out the juice from that bottle and put fresh juice in my old bottle and everything was fine. Even the funky tasting Silo is back like new again.

So the obvious conclusion must be there was some sort of coating or factory "treatment" on those new bottles that HAS TO GO! So how you do you clean your bottles? What is the best way...and how do you dry them, and how long does it take? TIA!

Not too sure on what to tell you as far as cleaning them. I just basically rinsed mine out with hot water prior to first use and let them air dry overnight. What you may have experienced with the taste could have been some of the burnt excess liquid that returned back to the bottle. I get that more often than I would like. My fresh liquid is an golden in color and I notice that by the time I get down to about 3ml left in the bottle it has turned brownish colored from the excess returning to the bottle and it does taste a little different. This is a byproduct of being a bottom feeder. Not usually bad enough to not vape through it though. I have found that as I vape through the bottle, every so often I shake my mod to keep what liquid in the bottle mixed up. I have found because I mix down my liquid with straight VG to a 50/50 ratio, sometimes it gets mixed to say a 40/60 or 70/30 and have found that my bottle turns darker with the higher VG percentage. I think it is the VG not being vaped off as quick as the PG, if that makes any sense to you.

Thanks, muzichead...that makes sense. In this case I think it may have just been some residue from the bottle manufacturing or something. It was a brand new bottle with brand new juice. Upon reflection..I realized that at that time I used the spare bottle from the kit. I'd had that kit for days, and it'd been banged around and stuff shifted in it and goodness knows what dust and dog hair got in it. Could have been that, too. I put all the bottles in some warm soapy water and swished them around, then rinsed them with warm/hot water and let them dry overnight on a paper towel Hopefully that will do the trick!

I know about that "used juice" syndrome. Blech. Got it all the time using clearomizers. Another reason I don't like them! I am trying to teach myself to like atomizers on the Vmod, but without a lot of luck. The Silos perform so well...and super shorty cartos do too. I ordered a couple more of the hybrid atomizers from Vapage during the sale, but don't know if I'm really going to warm up to them or not. I'll watch for that phenomenon with atties when I do try them again. Gotta shake that juice! hahaha!!!

I find just a hot water rinse (fill the bottle half-way, shake, dump, repeat) does the trick for most juices. I avoid using soap since it’s hard to get the soap taste out.

However, really intense juices, such as ones with clove, can be tough to eradicate taste-wise from the bottle. For those I fill the bottle with vodka, let it sit for a while, dump it out (while fighting the urge to drink it) then rinse a few times.

Also, don’t forget to give the Vmod a bath now and again, and direct a warm water spray into the drip cup from the top and the bottom. I usually do that every 2-3 bottles worth of use. There can be some lingering taste issues due to a built-up in the drip cup.

I rinsed out my spare bottles with a drop of Dawn in some warm/hot water...swished and squonked the water in and out a bit, then repeated the process twice in two rinses of plain warm/hot water. Let them dry on a paper towel overnight, and the odd flavor is gone. Everything is golden now.

I was just wondering if anyone had a "quick" method for cleaning them. And a quick dry. But I guess that's why it's good to have a few bottles on hand, right? If a couple need cleaning...at least you should have another one that works while you wait for the air to do it's thing. Luckily, I only vape one flavor juice (makes life SO much less complicated, although arguably more predictable) so cleaning now (for sanitary reasons) should go smoothly since I have spare bottles ready now. Much like my carto tanks. Just rotate as needed!

I opted for a Reo rather than a Vmod, but cleaning the bottles aren't much different. Normally I just run the sink on hot and fill up the bottle a few times and empty it out, then I'll fill it with hot water and let it sit for about 20 minutes or so. After that I'll dump it out and take a q-tip and dry out the inside of the bottle without pressing down too hard. This works well enough to get the flavor of Pluid out of my bottles even.

Gets all the flavor out, and I haven't had any issues with leftover sediment/cotton threads.
