I got some blank 1.5 dc cartomizers here to use with the KGO and am trying to find a good way to fill them (first timer here). I removed the o ring (on the mouth end) and dropped down the sides but I noticed a lot of juice ended up in the plastic cap on the battery end. I basically was dropping it down the sides, shaking it, and then dropping more and shaking it. Then I just let it sit for awhile with the mouth end up and the battery side down, with both end caps removed, and a fair bit of juice drained out the bottom through the battery end. Should I have left the battery side cap on while I was letting it sit?

You just got some juice down in the middle hole and it ran all the way out. On the dual coils, I actually use the "condom" method, and I drip down the top as well. They are longer than regular cartos and it's important to get juice all the way to the middle as well as both ends. The condom method is as follows: Put about 10/15 drops of juice into one of the silicone cap that comes on the carto, then slowly push the battery end of the cartomizer down into the juice. The juice will all be sucked up into the carto through the hole in the bottom. Then drip into the filler from the top of the carto as well. I actually blow through the mouth end of the carto after I've filled it to clear the center hole....that needs to be clear for air flow. If, after I've blown on it, I can get a few more drops in the top, I put more in. Those DCs will hold about 40+ drops of juice....and you want it all saturated. Hope this helps.

I do not use the SC's. SOme people say the first time they need to use a syringe (I imagine down between the inner wall and the stuffing). I hope you learned how to use cartos before trying those. And BTW - I know some people are always pushing those 1.5's but do not use them on slim batteries!! You can damage your batteries. Stay 2.5ohms or higher on slim batteries. Some people won't even go that low on enclosed fat batteries like Ego and Riva 510 and will only go that low with mods.

The following is for normal cartos, not DC's.
---
How I fill Vapor4Life KR8 cartos and Boge 510 cartos

Pop out the soft cap with an unbent paperclip in the mouth hole, very careful not to catch stuffing or the wire loop.
Shake and open the eliquid
Hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto, and add 18 drops per ml of capacity into the stuffing (Boges and most KR8 cartos are about 1ml).
Wait 15 seconds or so then see how many more drops the carto stuffing will soak in easily.
Clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue, puff into threaded end to clear air channel (Boges and the KR8 cartos I use have a defined center air channel and I want to see light through that)
Sop up any loose juice above the stuffing
Cap and let it settle - I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so I won't singe the carto. if you use thicker juice than me (I use 20% Vg or less) then you may need to wait much longer.

While vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting hotter than normal, I take the carto off the battery and add eliquid. I sometimes use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on Boge and KR8 cartos (not to drip into since the juice would head for the central air channel)

Thanks for the advice.

@dormouse: Are the KGO 1100 batteries considered slim batteries? Is it unsafe to use the 1.5 dc cartos with this battery?

EDIT: You know I just noticed something, I actually ordered the 1.25 dc cartos, I thought there was a mistake and they were the 1.5s because the logo says "hoosier ecig supply 1.5 dual coil", but it does not look like the 1.5's shown in the pics it looks like the 1.25's. Kinda slim and black.

The KGO 1100 mah batteries would not be considered slim batteries. The slim batteries are usually in the range of 180 to 280 mah.

But still, 1.25 ohm is probably pushing the envelope for the KGO. If you have a multimeter, check the resistance of the cartomizer.

Seriously, I wouldn't use anything less than 1.7 ohms. For me 2.0 is about perfect. You don't want the juice to get too hot and start getting that burned taste.

Quick easy idiot proof way to fill a carto:

    P1000439.jpg

Just slowly push the carto into the juice until it starts to bubble out the connector end.

I am using the Boge 2.0(1.2m) and the eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartos(4.5ml) with my Rivas with no problems...I use a syringe to fill them, basically no muss no fuss and you get liquid plum to the bottom(and all around) to start...I do drip a little around the edges as I sit at the house BUT, if I go out and use 'em up, I use the syringe to refill...it's just so easy............

Here is a video most new Vaporers latch onto....58,000 people duped into the worst way to fill cartomizers...sad really.

A Great Way To Fill Cartomizers - YouTube

Here's what doesn't get shown on video, what they edit out and what you need to see.

Remember...Friends don't let friends use the condom method! Join me and thousands of other experienced Vapors as we eradicate the most over-hyped and wasteful method of refilling Cartomizers. If you lose 3-4 drops per refill blowing out the air wick tube hole, wiping down the Cartomizer, cleaning out the threads, and the residual juice left in the condom. You are shorting yourself 4 full Cartos per 30ml bottle of juice.

The Condom methods is the largest contributor to killing Auto Batteries and Chargers. This method also leads to burning up Cartos since most vapors after watching videos like the Doctor's only fill their Cartomizers a 1/4 full.

Some folks will say, "But I use a manual"...So? You may not short out your battery, but everything else applies and in most cases you will end up clogging up your airflow intake holes if you use an KR808. Or need to clean your batteries weekly....don't believe me....what's all that black stuff on the threads of your battery?

Whenever somebody boasts about the Condom Method for refilling....just shake your finger at them and tell them, "NO!"

You can find videos on the Drip Refill and Syringe Method which I highly recommend by clicking on the link below. There a bunch of helpful videos designed to save you money and to help you get the best out of your vaping experience. Vape On America!!!!

I would def use a syringe to fill the DCs or any other XL carto. Dripping into them takes quite awhile bc you have to let the juice settle. A syringe is very quick and easy and it takes away the guesswork. It also ensures they are filled correctly since your filling from the bottom up.
I recommend getting some cartos from Crystal Clear Vaping. They have free shipping and you get a free syringe with all carto purchases. That syringe is perfect for filling and is what I use to fill all of mine. The condom method is messy and it doesnt work as well for Xl cartos.

Also, I would NOT use 1.25ohm cartos on your kGo. They will drain your batteries alot faster and using them also voids the warranty on your kGo. I recommend trying the Ressurector cartos from Crystal Clear Vaping. Dual coils arnt that great on 3.7V Pvs or eGos. The Ressurectors are single coil, but produce vapor similar to a DC. They are designed for 3.7V and will work great on your kGo. I use them daily on an E-Power. They are 1.7ohms and hold alittle over 2ml of juice so they last a long time. I would order some of those from CCV and then use the free syringe that will come with them to fill them.
I think youll like the Ressurectors a lot better than the 1.25ohm cartos

...I don't have enough words, nor time to tell you how much I agree with the two above posts...100% doesn't adequately express may agreement...1000x is as close as I can get...Friends don't let friends use the condom method...may be the single greatest line of advice about carto filling I have seen since I joined ECF and started vaping.............

Sandybeach said she spoke to them and they recommend she get the 1.25 ohm carto when she purchased the kit.

...ya know, 3.7-4.2v with a 1.25 load is a 3+amp draw...DAYUM, that is a lot for a proprietary batt...maybe the Kgos is made for it...But, consider the Provari and many other hi-end mods have 2.5amp limiters and most of the others top at 3amp...hmmmmmmmmmmm.............................
    madjack:2cool:

p.s. for comparison, that same voltage with a Resurrector(1.7ohm) is between 2-2.5amps.........mj
