Hello!

I'm currently just using a standard ecig I bought from a vape shop (INNO battery if that's known). I don't get any real hit of vapor, it all feels a little tame and i'm looking to get an upgrade.

My knowledge is to the extent I know there is a battery, tank and liquid. I pray I wasn't wrong there too.

My budget isn't particularly high, being a student and all, however i've fallen in love with the look of the Innokin Itaste MVP3.0 (30w), the ability to charge my phone seems awesome too and all the settings it can change.

Now, I see all these glass tanks people put on them in the videos? I was told to change the one on my bad ecig every 2 weeks, tell me the tanks have a longer shelf life!? They seem so expensive... Also how do I know which cheap tank would even work with say the MVP3.0 so i'm not just ordering things to send back or break!

Any advice would be appreciated or any setups/things you wish you knew etc

Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the board. That battery-- the MVP 3.0 Pro-- is an excellent choice; it's top quality gear from a good manufacturer. You don't say what your vapeing style is, and this would be helpful to assist you in selecting a tank. However, and in general, it would be hard to go wrong with either an Aspire Nautilus tank for +ohm and lower volume hits, or a Kanger Subtank which offers a bit better air flow and the option of + Ohm, subohm or rebuildable coils. Tell us a bit more about how you like to vape and we can narrow that down some.

Innokin is a good line with a very good reputation. Rarely see negative posts. They are know for good power management in that you set it for 19 watts, it puts out 19 watts. They are a bit "boxie" but they are tough. I have always had an MVP series from the start. Just well-built, but look a little brickish.

Innokin just came out with the Cool Fire IV. Seems positive and is a touch more stylish.

For simplicity, I would put Aspire Nautilus clearomizers on top. Simple, good flavor.

I know suprtrkr pretty much just said the same thing, but, to start...MVP3.0 Pro and a couple of Nautilus'. The MVP3.0 Pro will even let you step into rebuilding.

To start out, Hi and Welcome to the forums!!!! There are plenty of tanks out there that would fit on the MVP 3.0. It would depend on what you are looking to achieve with your setup. The glass tanks that you see are great on all occasions. When you want to change flavor, just pop off the coil, then rinse and dry the rest of it. They will last a long time as long as you are careful with them. The only maintenance would be to change out the coil every 1-4 weeks depending on usage. The sweeter the juice the quicker it will junk up and not work as well. I have a tank, Kanger Areo, that I use with unflavored and get a good month use out of the coil. That tank has been with me for a year at the end of this month. Anything else you would like to know, just ask.

As others have said you can't go wrong with Innokin.

For a mod consider the Innokin MVP 30, Innokin Coolfire 4 or eLeaf iStick 30 watt
For a tank the Aspire Nautilus/Mini Nautilus or even the Kanger Subtank Mini (includes stock coils and RBA base so you can rebuild your own coils)

If you like the idea of the Kanger Subtank Mini you can get it a kit that includes the mod: the Kanger Subox Mini. The kit is often called the Kanger Subox Mini Kit. The plus to this mod is that the battery is not internal. It uses a replaceable 18650 cell. So when the 18650 cell dies you just replace it, not the whole mod like you would have to do with the others. The 18650 cell would not come with the kit, it would be extra. A good cell for this kit is the Samsung 25r.

Most mods with internal batteries will last you 1+ years, maybe more depending on how much you vape.

Check prices at MyePack. You could also look at Fastech (located in China). Prices are cheaper but it takes longer to get. They may not carry the "Authentic" versions of all the above.

Thank you for all the advice! Very much appreciated.

As far as vaping style goes, I'm not all that sure, I pretty much use it now every half an hour to an hour, sometimes more sometimes less until the evening until I've been gym or played my sports as I do feel clearer when vaping before but after it doesn't pack the same punch to help me resist! Especially out with friends who are smoking!

It's not even necessarily I want to quit smoking but if I found a good alternative to overcome the evening hurdle/cravings I'm open to it and it would help with my fitness

Are there cheaper alternative tanks as I don't want to be spending 25 if I can help it! I see the coils need replacing frequently, how often would a tank need it?

Again thank you for your input!

Coil longevity depends on so many things, one may last a week or 3 months. Usually it's the wick that gives out (gunks up) before the coil.

Best suggestion is buy a tank with a rebuildable section, take it to a local vape shop and have them build it and show you how to wick it. Then you can rewick as necessary and it will last much longer between rebuilds.

A lot of new vapers are put off re building because it seems hard or even dangerous.
If you get the tools you need and have a care,
You will be fine. And dripping for many is pure heaven.
Or get an rta like the billow v2.
Holds about 4 or 5 ml of liquid and had wonderful airflow.
Like others have said, a good b&m store will show you how.
The shop by my apt had people who come in every weekend for an in store rebuild as they have arthritis and cannot build their own.
I'm also new to the site but the folks on here seem to be a great resource too.
And I would recommend asking a lot of questions.
(The only stupid question is the one you never ask)

I highly recommend anything by Innokin. My recommendation would be the Coolfire IV. I also use the MVP 20W and find it solid and reliable, but the Coolfire IV is just more comfortable to hold with one side being round. I haven't found much satisfaction with tanks and so stick to dripping, so I'm no help with tanks.

You are entering at a time when there are a wide range of devices that you could buy which are reasonably priced and the market is growing exponentially all the time.

The Kanger Subox Mini is good value for money (in England it is approx £45) and for this you get both the battery device and the Subtank Mini. You will then just need a couple of 18650 batteries.

The Subtank Mini will come with a couple of pre-made coils so you can get into using the device immediately, but also a deck upon which you can have a go and building your own coil should you wish to later.

Some caution needs to be applied with the setup - as with anything that is new for you - as it is often billed as a sub-ohm device which may be too intense for some, especially at the beginning of their Vaping adventures, but if the wattage is kept lower and gradually cranked-up as you become more accustomed to it, then you may find it to be what you are seeking.

Hi Turtle... :)

I know of the brand INNO, of course.

I also know of Berkshire Vapours, of course.

You should get online and start comparing the meerkats. Seriously... there is a whole world out there, with prices ranging from "bargain" to "complete and unmitigated" rip-off.

Google is NOT your friend, sorry to say. The expensive companies pay to be at the top of the search results so they can charge you more money.

Take the MVP v.2. I bought one for £34.99 and a quick search on t'internet would have sent you to a well-known high street shop that was charging... was charging.... prepare...

£79.99.

Agreed on the above. The difference in what can be paid is staggering. In England, shops on the high street are often branded as the worst culprits for blatant over-pricing, and with more overheads than Internet only vendors, this may hold true as a general rule. However, as with any other product sometimes there is no replacing the ability to be able to go and talk about, touch and feel a device before making any decision to buy. Also there are good deals to be had when a relationship has been established with some vendors, that comes from direct face to face contact.

You will soon find that replacement heads for a cheap tank will far out weigh the cost of savings vs an up front cost better quality / deck / airflow / tasting / vapor production re buildable , wire and cotton is penny's on the dollar compared to replacement heads and you can build whatever ohm coil suits you best.
