For a first genesis style atomizer the rsst is great. It hits like a champ and is easy to set up and use. The best part is the price, if you find you don't like genny's your not out a hundred dollars. Phil Busardo also reccomends this one. His comment is," I strongly recommend starting off with a cheap one to learn to love it or hate it without breaking the bank. Although the original recommendation was the AGA-T the Smoktech RSST takes it’s place. Why? The spring loaded positive capture, the sealed bottom tank, and the insulated wick hole all make this an easier device to work with than the AGA. Here is his review A PBusardo Review - Smoktech RSST Genesis Atomizer - YouTube If your not in a hurry to get one the best price I've found is here $24.96 Authentic Smoktech RSST Rebuildable Atomizer (2.5-3.0mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Shipping is at 10-14 day but regularly arrives quicker than that, free shipping, a great warranty, and they accept paypal.

As far as rba's go.. I have a budzworx era, an igoW, and a kayfun lite. The era and igo-L are both good to start off. The igo has a nice deep deck and is pretty well built. It's like $15. I like the era better than the igo tho. That's around $60 ish. i would strongly reccomend the era or the hornet as a starter. The only differences between them are the top caps.

I've been pretty happy with my AGA-T2. It's inexpensive, had good weight to it, it's easy to set up and vapes great. It was my first RBA, and I don't regret it one bit. The RSST is also a very good first RBA, it was the other one I was considering, I just like the pyrex tank better than the plastic and I didn't care for the flat top on the RSST.

just finally nailed a coil for my first rba genny style and it was on a rsst. It was very easy to setup and i like how i can make my wick go all the way to the bottom of the tank w/o shorts. I would recommend the rsst as a great entry level genny rba. There is no other satisfaction then nailing your first coil and truly experiencing the ss mesh experience, fantastic.

The Kayfun is no more difficult to coil than the RSST, and I would argue that the RSST may be slightly more difficult, though they are both very easy to do. The most important thing is to be able to check the resistance on the coil. Not sure why everyone thinks wrapping a wire around a wick (metal or otherwise) three or four times is an advanced application. It sounds much harder than it actually is, and a great deal of satisfaction comes from jumping in and doing this. A few key tools and measuring devices is all it takes, and the many YouTube Videos make it easy. And, if you do mess up a coil, it's only a few cents to try again. Of the RBA's, the Ithaka has been the most challenging, because of the marrying of resistance and non-resistanc wiring. You can get around that by buying "Ready Wires" and achieve pretty much whatever resistanced you like, quite easily. RBA's are not particularly difficult, and everyone I know has been able to do it just fine after an attempt or two. Knowing what you're doing, of course, is the hard part, that's where the videos come in.

My two cents. Good luck! Best to you!

The IGOs are drippers (RDAs), so if you want capacity, you'll need a pricey REO or get the RSST. Kelevra is dead on with the selling points on the RSST. It looks great, vapes great, and is easy to learn. I would add that the screws are philips heads, so its more secure than thumb nuts. Also, that spring loaded positive post also adjusts your connection depth, so you can ensure good battery contact, something I cannot do with my cartos.

Rolling a tight mesh wick is the most challenging part, but once you get it wrapped, it should last several weeks to a month, if not more. You'll probably need to drill out the air hole though.

Thanks for all the great input. I'm not sure how I feel about Fastech. I placed an order with them and was shocked at how quickly it arrived. An order from Heather's Heavenly placed a day later arrived on the same day so the big wait I was prepared for wasn't bad at all, BUT one of the things in my order was a ProTank and it's either a bootleg or a really early version. I'll have to take a picture because it's hard to explain but it looks slightly different and doesn't have the same airflow. The prices can't be beat though. I'll just have to be selective about what I trust to be authentic.

Every time I've stepped up to the next level in hardware the reward has been very satisfying, but I had to go through the trial and error as part of the process. So as I progress from the current Vamo/Protank to Mod/RBA/RDA I'm just taking it slow and steady. Someday the Kayfun will be mine, but the current prices tell me that I'd better make sure that I've had some practice before I spend too much money during the learning process.

After watch PBusardo's reviews on various RBA and before his Smoketech as the best beginner's ATTY. Well while I don't know how much that spring loaded positive post matters but that isolated wick hole is a very cool and I think needed advancement if your going to do mesh wicks. I think the problems I had with my Cobra was based on the wick shorting out on the sides which can happen. I have since switched to a ceramic coil and have has no issues. It comes down to how good are you at tinkering with small things. No matter what RBA you get the work involved requires working in small spaces so I suggest getting a jewelers headband if you don't have eagle eyes and a good electronic or dental pick, and maybe even a good set of tweezers. Stick with it, the flavor and quality of the vape is worth every minute. :vapor:

Woah. I stand corrected and retract my comments about FasTech. The Protank that I received from them is not a bootleg or an early model. After getting my ProTank 2 in the mail, I now see that what I got was a ProTank, but it has some of the same assembly as the 2. Everything else about it, round design, non-removable tip are the same except for a nut at the bottom of the middle tube.

Like you I am drooling every time I see a Kayfun. I know sooner or later I will own one but for now ....baby steps. I just picked up a AGI rba and have it going on my Vamo. If you are a tinkerer you should have no problems wrapping a coil. Just take your time and it should smooth. Now my protank, evod, aro are going to collect dust. The flavor and vape is
