word y0. I'm not sure if all these skillets just buy all the hype or what but I don't see why everyone loves the ego so much...

Just from what I went through trying to kick analogs with an njoy, and then a greensmoke my general attitude has always been a little bigger is a lot better. But I've been around here long enough to know that doesn't cover all bases. I just got tired of freaking out when my batteries starter to bog down while I was out and about. That, and 20$ atty's that a warranty did me no good on because I had nearly kicked the habit. The only thing I could do was tough it out, or buy another starter kit just to get an atty. I chose the latter because I was doing so good and didn;t want to go back to several packs a day.

This is the part that kills me... it's not that good compared to, oh.. almost everything else besides the cig-a-likes...

Again, personal opinion.

I've used Kr8's, 901's, 801's, 306's, and several mods. I'm a big fan of the 510 atomizer, which the ego uses. Personally I find the ego with a LR cartomizer to be a great combo, and find myself using it more than I use my V3.

When someone says they want something cig-like but they smoked 1 1/2-2 packs per day, I tell them that although they would be better off starting with something like an ego, it's not cig-like and some people have to go through that phase. I then reluctantly recommend the 510, while telling them battery life sucks and they aren't going to like it. I am guilty of pointing out all the shortfalls for the reg 510 like e-cigs that are corrected with bigger batts, just so they know that if it comes down to it, there are other options available.

I personally have no problem recommending the 510, Kr8, or anything else really. We were all doing just fine before the Ego. The ego simply gives us better battery life than we had even in mods a short while ago, in a smaller, sleeker package at a reduced price tag. No wonder it has an almost cult-like following. It's a major advancement in the PV world. As I say, with the advent of bigger batts and LR atomizers, I don't NEED 6 volts anymore. I'm happy about that. It's something I can recommend.

Give the people the suggestions they want, but feel free to point out the downfalls and let them know other options are available when they decide to upgrade. That gives them the choice to go with what they want know, and the information to make the choice to simply start off with a bigger batt if they think they can.

If everyone who is posting to me at this time, would remember one of my earlier posts that said you are in the 10 percentile. Nothing wrong with that. But I would be screwing a noob over if I recommended something only 10 percent prefer.

Look guys, I'm not trying to attack anyone or what they prefer personally. I hope that is understood. Some times in a debate there can be a fine line, even in a mini vs battery mod debate (never thought I would be saying that).

I'm a little late responding in this thread (had to clean and suchnots), but the reason for the "anger" is obvious. As one who growled at me in a post stating I liked the Blu, you are disrespecting my opinion as if I have no right to an opinion or am stupid.

Yeah, that's begging for people to jump you. Your opinion with the Blu, or for that matter is only your own opinion. You have no statistics that 510 lovers are in the "tenth percentile" or whatever unless you can hunt down every Blu user and make a spreadsheet. Incidentally I don't see the credibility of 9 out of 10 loving an ego either.

I really really like my Blu, as well as my mall Kiosk (and reasonably priced) e-cig. Will you downtalk me because my opinion is different? I am very sorry your experience was different, but your bad experience does not negate others pleasure in using the devices.

With the truly forceful abhorrence you hold for the Blu, one would seriously think it abused you as a child.

I just hate recommending the mods that I really liked because several of them only come with the body. Newbs got enough to worry about without trying to figure out batteries and where to get them. They basically would have needed to go through 3 different places to get all they needed. I know some sites sell it all. But I just remember how floored I was at all the info pouring in at me lol.

900 mah at 3.2V (eGo) is not the same as 900 mah at 3.7V... (Mod)...
And MANY eGos are 650 mah at 3.2v

Perhaps those defending the eGos should ALSO state what ELSE they have vaped... it should shed some light, if people are honest about the answer.

I just took a drag off my 3.2V ego and another off my 3.7V 17670 (freshly charged). Not much difference in the vape for me. Sure, there's some. But not enough for me to justify putting the ego down.

It's not that I'm putting it down... I'm not holding it in high regard... big difference, in my eyes.

The Blu spat in my face while it raped my dog. It also stole money out of my wallet on it's way out the door. Calling the cops did nothing. It's got all the cops running scared.

I understand that. I'm just saying that when you factor in price/looks/performance, it's really not a bad PV. I've never minded vaping in public. I tell people that my V3 is my crack pipe when they ask, but I use my ego when I don't want to field questions about it. My mom gets questions about her ego all the time though. Maybe I just look un-approachable but people can't resist when they see my big ole stainless V3. I'm simply saying that an Ego is a great choice for many people. It fits better in my pocket. I can put it in my shirt pocket without the weight trying to pull on my shirt. It last a good while even with LR carto's, it's not that expensive, and I think it's pretty slick looking. It's simply a long lasting 510. I'm a huge 510 fan. It came though for me when others failed, and many others share the same story. While it probably shouldn't be built up to the level it is, it also shouldn't be discounted.

I HATE when that happens...

Me too. I never even comment on the Blu because I've never used it, but then that happened. I was going to shoot it but the darn thing is just so small it's a hard target. It's pretty quick too, and I couldn't use my shotgun because I would have hit my dog. Now my ego on the other hand, it soothes my dog when she has nightmares about the Blu.

+1!!!!

All these new vapers don't know what it used to be like. I remember having my battery charging station with 5+ batts in rotation and my PCC always charging and ready to go. Every time I left the house I would have 4 batts and my PCC. The Ego is very nicely priced now days and I wish they would have had them out when I started. Unfortunately, then the only choice was standard batts or a mod.

Except that in your response there's a lot of things said that aren't entirely on the money..

Value wise, the eGo is FAR more expensive to own than a 14500 mod... Compare the price of a replacement battery to that of a 14500 protected...

The eGo is not the best choice for LR atty/cartos because the mosfet switch can't handle the current required. MANY eGo batteries and similar fail due to the use of LR. There's a whole thread about that in the MadVapes forum area.

And yes, the eGo is a big 510, and sure it's smaller and lighter than a V3... but compare the eGo to say, an Icon... or a Protoge if you're lucky enough to find one used...

And seriously, a Box Mod for 20 bucks... talk about value.

But your last statement... "While it probably shouldn't be built up to the level it is, it also shouldn't be discounted." is pretty much true... it should be held in proper regard... not hyped... it's NOT the end all for ALL people, and in reality, it's not the end-all for MOST people.

Now, on topic...

Should people that are actively seeking a cig-a-like be pounced on by the eGo-maniacs who strongly suggest they will be making an earth shattering mistake if they buy ANYTHING but an eGo?

Absolutely not! They are not ASKING for anything that even resembles an eGo, and even if they were, the eGo wouldn't be the ONLY PV to consider when looking for a bigger battery... far from it!
