Hey. I don't come in here much, but I wanted to give some advice to newbies who are facing frustration in their attempt to make the switch. I was, too. My advice is stick with it. Don't pressure yourself to drop the analogs all at once. It's discouraging sometimes to hear stories of people who quit analogs the first time they vaped (though congratulations to those people!) It took me literally about six months to get to where I'm seeing a big drop in analog usage (I'm not even totally stopped, but I have cut it by 75 percent or so). I dunno if my body is just finally making the adjustment, or if I'm gradually learning how to use my pv more effectively. But basically, if you have a good pv, the right nic level, and a flavor you like, just keep at it. For point of reference, I have a Kgo and use 24mg juice, and I have stayed very, very consistent with it. If you stick with it, you might find yourself cutting the analogs down quite automatically and naturally. You gotta remember, if your body has been conditioned by years of smoking real cigs, it may take some time to condition yourself to ecigs. Best of luck to everybody and thanks for the good info that I got here when I first started.

I suggest to those trying to quit that they get a PV that is as close to an analog as possible. It helps with the nic cravings and more importantly is more like the "experience" of smoking an analog so it helps with that craving too. Many Long time members say "just get a big battery to begin with" but I know that wouldn't have worked for me.

It may cost a little more to get a slim starter kit and then a bigger battery later, but nothing costs as much as your funeral from still smoking analogs!

I also started with a slim kit, the safecig. I have mixed feelings on it. It did help for awhile but found myself completely unsatisfied within a few months. Then again, that's what pushed me to come on here and find out about bigger batteries. I guess the point is, one size doesn't fit all, and there are many ways to go about this. The main thing is don't give up on it in frustration like I almost did.

Hi there,

I think the biggest thing (at least for me ) was to trust the vape. I had 1 pack of smokes left when I received my PV. The PV was working with the cravings durning the day as I learned to trust it and my next hurdle was the morning cig. well I was getting low on cigs and took plunge with the morning vape....it worked! since then I was done with cigs.

Trust the Vape!

I've been vaping for a year or so and I would go back and forth between the 2. It took me changing my frame of mind before I finally stopped smoking for good. I needed to quit but didn't want to quit. Once I decided that I wanted to quit and only wanted to vape it changed everything for me. I have been smoke free for a little over 5 weeks now and proud of it. Haven't wanted an analog for a long while now. So definitely do not give up and don't be discouraged I too was/am jealous of those that quit the second they touched their first pv.

I agree completely, one of the most important factors is the person wanting to quit analogs and their dedication to quitting. It's still difficult with vaping (easier than pretty much everything else on the market though). You'll still have cravings for analogs, but vaping will make them non-existent in no time (2 weeks for me)!

I think for people having difficulty quitting to get a pv that duplicates the smoking experience as closely as possible which might mean a higher voltage mod.

Many people have posted here that was what finally helped them quit cigarettes. If that's not the answer try some WTA or snus in addition to vaping.

People have different levels of addiction. Some people are more addicted to the MAOI's they put in cigarettes. That's why they put them in there. They work on receptors in the brain and really don't have a lot to do with how much you smoked or what type of cigarette you smoked.

Very, very interesting. I wasn't aware of voltages and all this at the time, but when I started with the V2 kit, I immediately figured that the part that was able to curb the craving was the passthrough in their kit. I remember that I would go outside on the balcony to puff on the auto battery and that took away the need to repeat the ritual of the habit, and then I'd still feel that... uhmm.. it's like a chest tightness for me; then I'd vape (not that I knew the word at the time) some more on the passthrough and I'd get the full fix. Later I learned the passthrough was actually a 5V device, so there...

Thanks justinjj1280! It is good to hear that you have cut down!

I haven't received my mod yet. Kinda funny I got all my juice, batteries are charged, got cartos, and all kinds of goodies. Everything but the Mod. I had some trouble with pay pal. Still not sure who's that fault was. I got a Reo Grand I should be getting tomorrow! While I am very excited, I can only realistically hope to cut down. Of course I say this with no vaping experience at all.

I keep smelling the ejuice bottles. "hehe"

Not sure how much I really want to quit. In a way I am hoping that vaping will just simply be more desirable.

I average about a pack in a half of marlboro reds for about 17 years now. So if I can take that 40 cigs to 10 cigs a day I will be very happy! If I switch all together, even better!

I thought about the slim kit, but with all the stories, about refilling, charging batteries, and such, I guess it sounded frustrating, while I can see why an authentic feel, and look could help physiologically, I figure being a red smoker, I need some extra hit capability, and I like the Idea of just my mod being ready for a whole working day without having to try and attend to it.

I might get a cigy version if I have that complex of missing the authentic feel though. I guess just carry a bunch of extra with me. lol

I guess what I am saying If I could be at 10 analogs a day! That is amazing!

I guess I was lucky, I smoked 1.5-2 packs a day full flavor Marlboros. I had no intention of quitting smoking when I did. I even tried someone's Blu one time and thought man electronic cigarettes suck. Then one day as I was buying my usual carton of smokes I saw this 21st Century Smoke disposable on the shelf at WalMart. I decided to try it and I was hooked. The next day I purchased a 21st Century starter kit, and even though now I look back at how much they sucked, it worked. I kept that carton of smokes (9 packs left) for a week, then two, then I gave them away. I threw the 1 pack I had opened in the trash and never looked back. Almost 8 months later I have eGo batteries everywhere, with all kinds of cartos, tanks, atomizers, and juice for them.

I completely disagree with this advice. For some it might work. But most people trying to quit smoking need the "inhaled feel" of the real thing more than the "look" of the real thing. Models like the Blu or SomeEverywhere look like an analog but vape poorly. I've met more people who started with the mini-battery models and just gave up and went back to smoking due to the inconsistent performance and short battery life of the auto mini battery models. And the majority are not persistent enough to come here, do the research and shell out hundreds of dollars on multiple models.

I would rather provide advice that statistically will work for the majority. Plus a model like the Kgo is not that big that it will be off-putting to most.

That is what I kept reading. Why mess with the hassle of small stuff.Changing batteries, refilling, and such. While I can understand the feel of a analog being necessary for some people. I figure if I do, I will just will smoke a analog if i need that feel, and keep vaping, until hopefully vaping wins out! I am not trying to go quit turkey. But if i do. Awesome!

I hope my juices taste better than my cigs. I got bunch of stuff from Kick Bass Vapors! Which I had my mod...I did however get 36 mg, 60/40. VG/PG All with extra flavor shots. Think I will get a throat hit? haha! I sure hope so!

If this hummingbird nectar taste half as good as it smells I think I could get addicted!

I have almost 300 dollars invested so far! Not including the hours of reading before I made any purchases. I hope this stuff doesn't end up in the classifieds.

I just figure that is equivalent to months smoking for me. Why not give it a shot. Worst case scenario I will smoke the same amount of analogs I have been, and just have some good tasting juice to vape with on the side.
