Believe it or not, that's only a hotspot because the wick is acting as a heatsink for the rest of the Kanthal and drawing the heat away from it. So, you see it red there because there is no aluminum to act as a heatsink.

Because it is wicking heat away it means that the vapor that is produced does not taste in any way shape or form burnt, or like any "metal" so the flavor is probably the truest flavor I have EVER tasted in a genesis device. Smooth, not much kick (burn) good throat hit and once I dial in the coil where I want it, will be a veritable fog machine. Since it's pulling the heat away from the Kanthal, you could probably run those sub ohm coils without having to worry about burning that juice.

I currently am working on getting some beta testers for the wick and am sending them out a 2" section to test. Only requirements, having tried and used stainless mesh, rope and ceramic and have a 3mm hole in your genesis.

Oh and being willing to pay $2 shipping.

check, check, and check!

Great video's Ken! If you put a hard right angle on your wires right where they should leave the wick and get a straight shot to you positive post it will get rid of that pesky hot spot at the top. At least it goes away a lot faster. Been having the same problems with mine lately.

So do you put an SS wire in the middle or SS mesh?

thats interesting; does this hold for SS mesh wick K-coil top hot spot (where the top leg is hot) ? that's always been my nemesis grrr.

i don't even know the first thing about electrical function, whether its a short or what, but that's where the coil will pop everytime (if it does pop)... when it doesn't, usually through pulsing it for a while, its a fantastic vape
That hotspot is only because the rest of the Kanthal has it's heat absorbed by the wick.. it's literally actinig as a heatsink. The rest of that would be just as red if it wasn't in contact with the wick and I can assure you it's NOT shorting to the wick.

I can see that Ken. I sure hope you can keep this affordable for the masses. I have some high end mods and you do get what you pay for in most cases. $50 Chinese clones aren't in my house lol but I see how tough times are for most people and would love to see a sub$200 mod that's as good or better than one costing $100+ more.
