Only to those that have or haven't?

I ask as MANY people after their 1st week decide to, or not to, hit 1 anolog to know the "true taste" of one.

I am coming up on my 1st full week of full on vaping & everytime I read someone hitting one & saying it was a good idea I get scared as I am deadly afriad I will be hooked again. :(

So this is for those that have or have not. Does the nasty taste stop the ever so slight craving that is still left?

Why try one after a week? The taste buds are messed up for much longer then that.
the lungs still arnt clear. Your still not completely detoxed. Your still not completely quit, Quit.

While I dont see any real harm at tryin one for curiosity, at some point like months from your quit date. But the 1 week is kinda pointless...

And if your worried you will get hooked and smoke the whole pack ect...then just dont. There isnt a Need to do so.

Well it's tricky ...

I relapsed back into the 1 or 2 a day last fall after a summer of vaping. I stopped smoking all together (I think there are actually still packs of cigarettes in my center glove compartment, who knows I don't think to even look or care anymore) about a month ago when I started getting into the new cartomizer tanks (Vision, Sapphire, now Turbine 2 Pump).

For me the trick was finding equipment that works well enough that smoking can't compete with vaping (‪GotVapes' Turbine2Pump (tank) Vape-a-thon‬‏ - YouTube).

I gave a cigarette a shot a week ago (a few weeks or a month after going from 1-2 to absolutely zero) and couldn't get over how much it made my mouth taste like I hadn't brushed my teeth in a week. Plus it gave me no satisfaction; with my cartotanks I get solid nicotine buzzes whenever I want. I voted to go for it - if you enjoy vaping for the sake of vaping you might find like me that cigarettes simply don't stack up outside cartons

I made a couple of polls about this a long time ago.
It will be interesting to compare the results of this poll with the results from those polls.
:)

As for me, having a cigarette now and then reminds me of how much more I like vaping.
And for me, yes, it did put an end to any slight residual cravings I had.

Can you post a link to that poll if it is still up?

Good polls! Ironically the same as this one. So we know it's on peoples minds!

I hit my 1st solid week at 11am today! Huray! Based on the polls, I think I have choosen just to stay away! The last 2 days, the ever so slight cravings have really backed off, so whew, the curiosity is about dead. Plus I like this 1 week marker & dont want to restart.

I luv ECF, It's such a great help! I am overdoing it as I dreamed I was on the forum lol, but hey, no butts!

I am 3 weeks in, but got to the end of one week and the curiosity kicked in so I had one. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted and I felt genuinely unclean after. I actually put it out half way through because it was just so foul. It was a great thing for me as I realised that I really didn't want to smoke again. I just wonder why cigarettes play these tricks on us, making us curious to try again. What is in these things that even with the Nic still in our systems that makes us keep wanting them?

Both arsenic and ammonia are addictive chemicals so I would imagine we are still craving those and who knows what else.

As a new vaper I ordered a proper PV and juice, and they didn't arrive before I was out of the pre-filled carts that my min-mart POS used, so I had an analog one night. It was foul. I threw the pack away and never looked back. I am confident that I will never have another analog, even if I have nothing to vape. If it's an emergency, I think I would use smokeless tobacco or something. I will caveat this tale with a warning that I was not a heavy smoker (mainly a smoke-while-I-drank, evening smoker), so your experience may differ.

I would say go MUCH longer than a week. I answered that I tried one after a week which is inaccurate for a couple of reasons but it was the best answer available. I quit smoking for 5 years and then started vaping. After a few months of vaping I tried a cigarette and was shocked at how awful it tasted AND how non existant the TH was. I figured that it would have more kick than my pv but it seemed to have no TH at all just nasty tasting air... Let me know that I was never going to try one again!!! But I would say get a few months out maybe even a year and it will shock you that you could have ever enjoyed smoking!

I smoke a few each day when I first started vaping. Then I tapered off to nothing. Maybe because I did the tapering thing, I don't really have that curiosity to try one now. But if I did, I would go ahead and have one. I think giving myself permission to do so is one of the reasons I don't feel deprived. Mind games with myself...but it works!

I chime in on the tapering off approach. I took 2 weeks to make the switch and completely drop analogs.

Sometime during the second week I opened my smoke tin (was doing RYO) and gave it a sniff, almost gaged.

About a month later I sniffed again, actually smelt good that time, but as I had decided I did NOT want to go back to analogs I had no difficulty closing the tin on the 4 cigs ready and waiting, setting the lighter back on top and picking up my PV that sits right next to the tin and vaping away quite happily.

I will admit to getting the analog urge every once in a while still, using a high nice desert or fruit vape seems to work best for me. Over time the urges seem to get further and further apart so I'm happy sitting here vaping away looking at my old cig tin with the 4 waiting old friends getting more stale each and every day.

Best of luck to you and any others trying to drop analogs once and for all.

Vape on brothers and sisters :)

I had quit analogs cold turkey several times over the past 15 years. It was always a trip to the bar, or a party at a friends house that got me back on them. Anyway, I bought a cheap disposable at a gas station one day, and decided to give the whole e-cig thing a try. the flavor and quality were trash, so I decided to look on-line for a few reviews, and I found ECF. I had no idea there were so many options. I decided to start with a KR808. I haven't smoked an analog since the disposable I bought that day. I've been .... free for just over a month. I really don't have a desire to smoke another analog again. They smell really bad to me now that I can actually smell again. I'm sure they would taste the same as they smell. I would try one just to see, but I don't want to sabotage my efforts. lol
