After just 12 days, I CAN NOT smoke an analog!

I know there are LOADS of these types of posts on the forum but I for one never get tired of reading them, as they gave me hope.

Pack and a half smoker for 7 years (I'm a youngin'!) and after just 12 days I decided to try a cigg again.

I was out drinking and playing pool with a bunch of friends (all smokers) and I was puffing away on my black 510 all night. Got ALOT of weird looks, lots of people coming over to ask about it etc.

After ALOT of demonstrations I somehow ran both my PCC and two batts dead.

SO I as SOL as I didn't have a charger with me. No problem as I had enough nicotine going through my system to last all night, but I was drinking...

I decided to bum a cigg from a friend. The same ciggs I smoked for 7 years. Camel Menthol Light.

Literally two puffs and I almost vomited. How could I have enjoyed those things??? The taste reminded me of taking a drag off an old Virginia Slim my mom smoked when I was 12 or 13 that was a "short" laying out for a month. DISGUSTING.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!

Thank you SOOO much ECF. You have literally, and I mean LITERALLY not only saved my life, but also my relationship with my soon to be wife. I was hiding the smoking from her and of course she still knew, she smelled it, found the "paraphernalia" etc.

We had a LONG talk about e-ciggs and she agreed she has 0 problems with it as long as I work on reducing my nicotine intake.

She's happy, I'm happy, EVERYONES HAPPY!

Thanks again ECF.

To all the "newbs" reading through these posts wondering if this is for you.... It works.

Yes it does require a tad bit more effort... cleaning the atomizers every now and then, charging batteries etc.

It's worth it!!! I'm telling you it is worth it. I can't say for certain it will work for you but I was VERY skeptical. Reading through everyone's posts, some of these guys and gals who are a bit older, smoking over 2 packs a day to NO ciggs is incredible.

Just try it. It works!!!!

I never get tired of reading stories like this. :)

I am a new convert to vaping, and I've already quit smoking. I still find it absolutely amazing that I am not seriously craving a cigarette. It blows my mind after trying so many other ways to quit.

This forum and the people on it were a godsend for me.

I was a pack a day smoker for 13 years. I never went 1 day without smoking. I have been using my e-cigg for 11 days now, I have'nt even had an urge to have an analog at all! I didn't even know what they were until two days before I got one. There was a kiosk at the mall. The company Smart Smoke was selling them. They also have a website. They let me try it and after a couple of days of research online, I decided to get one. I am so happy I did! I am using bubble gum flavoring and its so good. I can't wait to try some of the other flavors that they have.

This has changed my life and my entire lifestyle around effortlessly.... Almost four weeks now and I am alreday prepared to lower nicotine.... painless.... and it never would have happened without this website and the information and helpfulness of the people here.
Thank You all for your support. I bet there are people out there who would spend a fortune to find a program that would help them in stopping to smoke....

And all so painless....and fun....but if all i knewabout were the ecigs at the mall i would have given up.... got me a janty 510 or two and some ejucie and a ptb....and some extras.... and a whole new life and lifestyle.....

Well, here's another. I smoked analogs for 41 years - about a pack and a half a day. My lungs crackled when I laid down to sleep every night. I actually discovered e-cigs in the attempt to find cheaper RYO tobacco on the net. Googled it to find out what the heck these things are, and ended up here. So, I decided to see what the fuss was all about. I ordered a DSE-801 starter kit, some juice, and backup attys and bats. I had no intention of quitting cigs, I was just curious.

Somehow, I accidently gave up analogs with no conscious decision whatsoever. The e-cigs tasted better, so I "forgot" to light up, and just kept vaping. Remember - a pack and a half .... 41 years!!

But I started feeling really dizzy after a few days, and it was getting worse by the day. After two weeks without a single analog, I quit vaping to see if it was making me sick. I tried to smoke analogs but they tasted AWFUL!! So I'd just take a puff or two and put it out until I couldn't stand it any longer and had to have another couple of puffs for the nicotine. It made no difference whatsoever going off the vaping for 24 hours, so I went back to it.

By the end of week three, I was seriously ill. My bosses and a co-worker decided that I had to be taken to the hospital. I was so out of it that I wasn't even a part of the decision. At the hospital, it was quickly discovered that my blood pressure had tanked. I was taking three different blood pressure medicines to control my hypertension - the dosages of a heavy smoker, but I wasn't a smoker any more! I was taking medicine for a condition that no longer existed!

Right then and there, the doctor took me off of one of the prescriptions. Two days ago, he took me off another one of them. Two medicines that I no longer need because my body is healing from the effects of smoking.

OH! And at the hospital, the doc said that my lungs were perfectly clear. No rattling at all. And I know he's right because when I lay down at night there is no longer any lung crackling. These things are saving my life, I'm convinced. The FDA will never be able to convince me otherwise!

At this point, I cant claim the same success, but almost, after 41 years of pumping crap into myself, I found ecig, and it is a miracle device, as far as I can tell, after 8 days, I still cheat, but to no avail, "they" definately taste bad, are dirty, and stink.......working on it........and, the good news, is , it is working! now, I dont care or worry anymore about quiting...........what a dynamic change in my psychy........a total relief.........for those of you that are not as "far gone" as I am, I salute you for trying this technology to help you "divert" your addiction, it is, in fact..........noble, I am hoping that this new( tech has been around since before my birth, thx alot phillip morris)

Heres another one:

After 25 years, 2 packs a day - I loved my tobacco. Daily brands like Marlb, exotic from Russia and India you name it. I really loved my tobacco.

Although, there was trouble in my smoke filled paradise. My daughter has begged me to quit. To the point of tears and anger. Her birthday wish (12th) was for me to quit smoking. Thats all she wanted. "...use the gum, a patch, even chew it but stop smoking Pleeeease...its nasty and it stinks...pleeeease stop..." This really tore at me, but I have never lied to her and had to tell her that I enjoyed it too much and I was way too addicted. I couldn't make her a promise I could not, or had no intention of keeping.

After seeing en e-cig at a kiosk and a smoke shop - I looked this stuff up and ended here. I thought "Wow - if this works I can get my nic at work and not have to clock out." After lurking here for a while I decided on a 510. Remember, my thoughts were to use it as a SUPPLEMENT to my smoking. I had read the stories of quitting. I started using my 510 right away. I loved it. The flavor was great and it didn't smell. I hadn't showed my family. That night I reached for an analog, lit it and gagged.

I asked my daughter what she would think if I used an electronic cigarette. She immediately spent about 3 hours Googling info about it and then announced that she thought this would be great - no different than nicorette or patches...

Thanks to everyone here, I have my 510. Her 13th birthday is next week. I told my princess that she got her wish. I haven't had a whole cigarette in days. I was now able to look her in the eye and say that I have the chance to quit. She was so happy she started crying and hugged me like she hasn't hugged me since she was 7 or 8. She went and called all of her friends and was telling then what a great surprise she got for her birthday.

I have told her that I have had a few analogs, but not because I wanted them, but because they happened to be handy, and I lit it without thinking. Within 2 drags I was gagging each time. Today, being home from school she noticed that I hadn't had a cig all day - and she came up to me all bubbly and told me, "Daddy, I really want you to know how happy I am. You REEEALLLLY didn't have a cigarette allllll day. Thank you sooo much!" and I received another bunch of kisses and hugs.

Now my skeptical wife is actually starting to use it more and more and I can see that she too is just unconsciously smoking less.

So I want to thank everyone in this forum for making my daughter so happy!

Coming from someone who didn't WANT to quit, this is nothing short of a miracle.

the first charge is the worst.....After that it is smooth sailing

I have been hearing that. I wonder why that is? I would assume that if you were an analog smoker prior, then there shouldn't be any trouble with this.

Any tips for a newbie when it comes to that first drag?

My first drag was an 11mg marl-boro prefilled and it was great! After 32 years and almost 3 packs a day it's over for analogs. Now it's mainly, marl-boro, vanilla, and cappucino. The rest is just trying stuff. I have 3 products I own that I can't do without. My motorcycle, my guitar, and my ecig.

I went through something of the same thing--just not as drastic: Tightness in the chest and a bit of a headache.
It was a bit scary.
Went to doctor and blood pressure was way down.
He eliminated one. I go back in a few months to see how things are going. In the mean time, I have to keep a close eye on the BP.
Now I feel better than I have in a long time.
Too bad the FDA don't ask doctors for subject cases—I’d volunteer my vapor medical history in a heart beat, and a much healthier heart beat at that.
