Hey I've flipped things on eBay before, bought a helmet at a garage sale for $5, sold it on eBay for $50, same with a pair of high end jeans. When I sell I start everything at 99 cents and no reserve. We all had the same chances to get them, Rob didn't sell these out the back door although it's well within his rights if he wanted to, divemedic got those woods fair and square. The buyer determines what he's going to pay for them not him!! Why is this still an issue?
Remember when you got your 1st REO and how bad you wanted a wood but there wasn't any to be had? I do, I searched the classy' s and eBay, any place I thought might have 1!! I see the woods that others got that were in my short list and I'm bummed I didn't get 1 of them but I'm also thrilled that they will be loved. The person or persons who buy them will love them and treasure them as much as we do ours. Don't hate, be thrilled for them. And if he makes cheddar on them maybe it's because he wants to take his sweet wife and beautiful baby someplace special. We don't know and frankly it's none of our business!! As much as I love my woods, I love my family more and if something happened that I had to sell them for my family I would sincerely hope that my Reonaut family would understand and support me in it. Now can we just see more wood? lol

Very well said marvin and sennie , thank yiu for your support. The bidders will determine whst they sell for. As you said, im sure most everyone here here has sold something they picked up for a profit. In case the others missed it Rob himself said here thst he did nit have a problem with me selling them on ebay so I really dont why the feathers are ruffled . Considering im including a cyclone and then the PayPal fees and ebay final value fees, I doubt5ill make much if any profit.

I'm fairly certain that you can't do that here, divemedic. Buying and selling, according to ECF rules, can only be done in the Classies.

As opposed to other threads throughout the forum. Who is ECF to dictate the rest of a persons life, exactly? Lmao

Well, there is one difference that I can see in the two scenarios offered. When someone buys something like a Reo just to flip it, they take away a chance for someone else to buy that Reo who really wanted it. Reo's don't go on sale very often and competition for them is fierce. I guess this goes without saying, but that's why flipping upsets people so much.

Well obviously the person who pays more than retail REALLY wanted it too ....... Soooo

Technically they giving a chance for someone who really wants one to buy one ??

Not saying it right or wrong .... I am saying its silly for anyone to get their panties in a bunch over it......... Its not a must have item.

Its not like they are flipping shingles or plywood in a tornado zone .... Its a vaporizer ... Much bigger problems in this world than if someone gets the toy they want.

Short memory MoN, doohickey and Reo covers ring a bell? You need a good girl to remind you of these things :) You do know that women have very good memories don't you?

I'd be happy to read no more about the ebay thing, it really needs its own thread, this is the Woodvil thread!

ETA - no offense intended to any who made comments on the ebay deal (I did too).

Yea but technically that was ON ecf... eBay is completely removed from ecf.
Those were a WHOLE 'nother can of worms that gets my blood boiling, don't get me started :(
Now if he had been advertising his EBay postings on ecf... That would be a different story.

Yes ebay has nothing to do with ECF, but no, you missed the point, Katdarling was referring to this, which was in bold in her post:

I do understand both points of view, I really do! Then I had to ask myself WHY I got so upset in the beginning and realized it was because I personally have hoarder tendencies and wanted to keep all our toys in our sandbox but then someone pointed out that hey this is giving some who's never heard of ECF or REOsmods a chance to get a piece of art. It would be like if I only sold my photos to friends and family. Heck no i will sell to anyone who wants 1 of my prints on their wall, and that includes flippers!! lol

I sent a PM to Lisa in hopes that she will move the ebay posts over to their own thread. We shall see!

I think I asked her nicely too! LOL!

If you guys want to continue this discussion without personal attack, it will remain open here.

What someone does with their device after they buy it is their own business...whether we like it or not. That being said, I'd like to remind everyone that calling people names or insulting their character is in violation of ECF rules. Make sure you aren't doing that in your posts.

Besides, there were more than a few people who got caught up in the sale excitement and bought more than one mod with the intention of deciding which one they liked better then putting the extra(s) up in the classies or wherever. Some people decide they don't like them for various reasons...but seriously, who are we to judge someone's character if they decide they don't want to keep something they just bought...regardless of the circumstances?

Lisa I could not agree more. If they purchased it its there's to do with as they please. When I see some of the inflated prices that some harder to get items resell for it really bothers me. I have not seen this happen with reo's and I hope I never do. But I think it would be some thing better left to Rob to address in what even manner he could. For me one of the reasons I love the reo forum here is because its the one place you can go and always be treated with respect and kindness. I would hate to see that change over this. If people really feel the need to talk about it then lets discuss ways to avoid this happening in reoland. But lets not judge anyone or let our anger over "flippers" take away our good nature and ruin our home here.

Just my :2c:
