I have a weller iron, somewhat similar but with a cord. I was eying it because of the same rca type setup, but its such a good iron, it even has an led.

That's the beauty of it. You just pop the solder tip back on and you got your iron back.

Keep in mind that it is only 4.5 volts if you use non-rechargeable batteries.

Well I just finished making it... My first PV mod is a success!!!

I couldn't find an RCA plug at wally world so I just removed the RCA jack "the thing didn't solder very well anyway" that was built into it and with some tricky wire work and fancy bending of an RJ11 coax center pin I was able to mount my 510 to 808 adapter "without damaging it for it's intended purpose" onto it as a connecetion point for 808 cartomizers. It's working as good as an 808 battery with standard AA batteries. The 510 end of the adapter gets pinched in the end of the housing nice and tight without glue or epoxy!

What would you recommend for rechargeable replacements? Keeping in mind that I will probably be using standard 808 cartomizers and Vortex cartomizers. That is until I order some 510 connectors and start playing around some more.
