This may be a dumb question, but lately my kFL+ will still sizzle for a couple of seconds after I let off the button on my Provari. Im running a 1.8ohm coil, 29g, wrapped on a 5/64 bit wicked with cotton....not too much, not too little. I don't know if it's normal for an afterburn like that. Anybody else have that problem? Thanks guys

maybe im the only one with a different take on this. this sizzle affect has happened to me but only on occasions, for me this happens when there is an issue and happens minutes after a build. slight dry hits accompany this sizzle and after re doing the wick it stops. now there has been times where i just let the build go to the next morning and everythings ok but for the most part i believe this sizzle is not enough wicking material. it hasn't happened enough for me to pin point it exactly but thats my guess. i have a bunch of mods, from mechs to vv devices, i have been doing rebuildables for over 2 years and i can count on one hand how many times this after sizzle has happened to me. so imo, on my specific mods and my specific attys, this sizzle is not normal, like i said i believe it to be a dry wick which most of the time is caused by a wicking issue or to thin of a wick

I noticed it after a new build then it seems to go away so whatever this means maybe it is from a dry wick

yes i agree. i do all my builds kind of late at night, sometimes immediately after a build i can tell if something is just not right, maybe a little dry, this sizzle goes along with my tastes of not being right. 99 percent of the time i just re do the wick and all is well with no sizzle but like i said before there has been one time where i just left it over night and the next day, no sizzle. so i guess sometimes the build is slightly off but maybe after the wicks fluff, its all good and the sound goes away, but i have also had that sizzle for 10 minutes without it going away and the whole time the vape is off.

thicker wire and more wraps means longer cooling time, but as stated by vapdivrr, everytime this has happened to me on a Kayfun it was a wicking issue. Most of the time I have 3 diferent ones set up, and it can be 2-3 days before I use one, and with thicker liquids this can lead to an empty chamber, so a dry pull helps to avoid this.

If it's a fresh build, chances are its a wicking problem, probably too much or blocking the feed channels, in which case its best to just re-wick it. If it's an excisting build, take a dry pull or too without hitting the fire button, and you should be good to go. YMMV

I'm no expert, so I can only speculate...

I think it's a combination of "all of the above". 29 awg at 1.8 ohm is quite a lot of coiling material. As Vapdivrr points out, it may be an indication of wick getting dry. If the wick replenished very quickly, it would cool the coil faster, too. It's sort of the Kayfun design. It won't replenish the wick a lot unless you're sucking on it. Put it away; residual coil heat boils remaining liquid while lack of suction keeps it from re-wetting.
