I bought an AGA-T 2 a couple of days ago and rolled the wick myself. I did a 3/4 wrap of 32ga. kanthal which came out to 1.7 ohms. If I try to vape any higher than 7.5 watts the wick can't keep up and I get harsh burnt hits. It's rolled tight and looks to have a very small hole in the center. And I do mean very small. My pv is an svd and I'm running an 18650. I know there are many of you that are running 20 watts or more on a genesis with no burnt taste, so what am I doing wrong?

Read up / watch tutorial on hotspots. That should solve your problem.

bulldog63h I will say just what is working for me at the moment.

I`ve had the AGA-T2 for two weeks now and note I`m running it on a VV/VW Vamo and not a mech mod.

I`ve found the wick hole is small! But the air hole is ok just dont drill it out too much as it becomes a "Pro-tank" type vape :)

I`ve tried SS wick rolled both hollow and tight, tried a hollow wick with a thinner wick of mesh inserted making it solid, and to date (bearing in mind I`m still playing with it!) the best so far is....

SS rope (7/7strands) 2mm diameter, cleaned in iso alcohol but not torched in any way.
Ekowool "diaper" over the top section.
30g Kanthal wrapped 4 times (it is quite fat with the Ekowool over it but wrapped tight) giving 1.6ohm.
Vaping 70/30 pg/vg at 3.6v on a VV mod (Vamo).

I tried exactly the same set-up with the wick out of #400 SS mesh and it did`nt work as good, not a massive difference but subtle enough for me to change back to the SS rope over the mesh.

Just something to try, these genesis attys are fussy creatures :glare:

First, those who are running 20 watts or more are using mech mods and sub ohms....The harsh taste is from hot spots that need to be worked out. I would suggest vaping a 1.7 ohm genny at no higher than 4 volts. But work up to that, dont start that hot.
