Well I had it working good, then took it with me to the tire store yesterday. It decided not to fire at all on the way home. Fiddled and fiddled with it and finally broke the top wire off the coil.
I tried the burrito wick method this time, worked great, tasted great, but still wouldn't settle down, ohms 1.4 one time, then 2.8 the next. Fiddled and fiddled some more until it just tasted burnt. Pulled the wick, unrolled it, the silica was burnt on the top and the SS was plugged. I burnt the SS, put in new silica and wrapped the coil using one of the fill screws, as I've seen done here before, rather than the ground post as I have been.
It instantly tasted burnt! Messed and messed with it, no love, constant hot spots and terrible flavor no mater what I do. I just set it off for tonight, I'm not in the mood!

Im no expert but that sounds like a short somewhere.

Grommet--->washer--->spring-----> 2x washers------>Nut......
So the center post can't move around especially when your screwing it on your mod.

can you see it under the smallest nut?

I can.... These don't need tightened very much, are you sure this isnt over-tightened? Just a thought...
The worst part on there is that bottom grommet in the 510 connection, because it's so soft when you screw the AGA on a mod sometimes it will push up the center pin causing that top coil to get tighter(or looser) also tightening that little nut to much will pull the center pin too far inside the 510 connection to make contact. But that post needs to be stable with what ever it takes to make it that way

I test it by pushing on it gently with my finger to judge how it is

My Aga-T+ came in yesterday, so I decided to give the Petar K method a try......
I did exactly as described in this video.
Then rolled a 500 mesh wick and lightly oxidized it.
Even though I have quite a large space on the top coil, it doesn't cause any problem.
That said, I did loop the coil on the center post since someone here mentioned it helped.
The only hot spot I got was the bottom coil and a quick tweak to the wire stopped it.

The method here is quick and easy.
I didn't spend much time with it at all.....
Here's the vid:

The DrillBit Method - YouTube

Here's a pic of my coil (4/5 wrap of 30AWG Kanthal around a 3/32 drill bit) @ 1.3 ohms.

looks pretty.... The only problem I have with the drill bit method is the wick being the perfect size...

I have been having better luck lately using Zen's method of having the wick and atty mounted to device and spinning the atty to wrap the wire around the wick. Seems old school but hey.... what works works.

Yeah, that's what I have done my last couple of coils.
My only issue was the fact that I was using more power than normal.
8 watts on a Vivi Nova vs. 11 watts on my Aga.

That said, the uniformity of the coil using this method is making my coil more efficient. I am not losing as much heat to the wick as I was before.
Rolling the wick was easier than I thought as well. I started out with too much mesh, so I unrolled it a bit and cut off a cm and it was good to go.

I think i may need to pull the wick out and cut off some more though, I think it isn't wicking as well being rather solid.
By design... That won't be a problem either.

I do it sort of the same way. I have tried the drill bit method and can never get it to work. My wick is never the correct or the same size. I roll my wick and wrap it in my hand like you would coil a silica wick. That works consistently for me.

I have a t2 coming from hoosier this week. I couldnt wait on the coop. Im gonna try the drill bit method again. its bugging me that I cant do it that way.

since Aga-T has 2 holes (1 is for wick & 1 is for mesh) im wondering if it is possible to make a dual coil build on it.

what do you think?

the aga-t 2 is the same as the original aga-t. anything you can do with one, you can do with the other. They only added orings for the top cap instead of threads, glass tank, and moved the wick hole closer to the center pin. The one I have also had a smaller wick hole than my original aga-t.
