Aga T+ HELP!!!!!

Hi everyone. So I may have overstepped my abilities as a new vaper... I went ahead and purchased my first rebuildable and I am BEYOND frustrated. The Aga T+ has recieved decent reviews as far as I can tell, however, I can't seem to make it work. I have followed every video I can find on YouTube, and my coil always looks just like theirs, but all I seem to get is a sizzle, and a pop and nothing! I got it to sort-of work once, so I know it can be done, but so far I've burned through about 6 feet of kanthal wire and I'm about ready to launch this thing out the window!!! I'm using 32g wire and I'm oxidizing the hell out of my wicks, including burning a little juice off of the wick before I begin trying to work with the coil. What am I doing wrong?!?!?! Any help would certainly be appreciated!

Read eHuman's blog about building a wick and coil. I watched all kinds of videos and thought either I must be ......ed or the vast majority of people who love RBA's just don't mind a mouth full of burnt metal taste. After following eHuman's guide to the letter I am converted. My AGA is by far the best, most flavorful, most full vape I've experienced. And been going strong on that same wick and coil all week.

I was right there too, before I had my very own "AH-HA" moment. You'll get there just don't give up, the journey can be extremely frustrating but believe me.. the destination is sooooooooooooooooooo worth it.

Check out my thread too if you want, you may glean something from it that helps you understand how to get it just right and enjoy the fruits of your coil wrapping, wick rolling labor.

Hope that the advice you have been given works for you - if not - the AGA-T is a very popular RBA and there are many of us here with experience with them. Once you get it setup right and vape it - you will know it is correct.
Quick help:
1. Don't wrap the wick too tight - it should be able to slide in the coil (the coil just kinda "hugs" the wick).
2. Positive wire - no slack. Feel free to push the wick towards the center post (not touching) to make the top wire as short as possible. It's the most common spot for hit spots (oh that wonderful taste of burning metal).
3. Don't give up! I was in the same situation not all that long ago - 3 months or so - now - it's simple to set them up correctly the first time. You'll get there too - just be patient.

Good luck, and enjoy the vape

These links are SUPER helpful.

If you get frustrated, take a break, come back to it. Just dont quit. Once you've figured it out, like others have said, it's so rewarding.

every time i try and use my vamo to work out hot spots i pop the coil due to the pulse width modulation. it fires at 6 volts turns off then on again at 6 volts, the length of time its off/on is how it achieves the desired setting. try working hot spots out on a different device mechanical mods work great for this
because the vamo fires at 6 volts then turns off is why it pops the coils

i use my vamo for cartos and the like use my rebuildables on my mechanical mods

I did it... I did it!!!! I used the Q-tip method outlined in one of the links you guys provided and rolled a tight wick, only oxidizing the half in contact with the coil and I'm vaping like a champ! This thing kicks ... now!!!! I'm using a Bolt with an 18650, which put out 3.7 Volts. It now hits really smooth, with great flavor, and blows huge clouds of vapor. I think I've moved to, "Intermediate" level in my short vaping career! I'm so excited! Thanks to all of you for your tips!

Hi,

Congrats on your successful coil!! i feel your happiness!!

Maybe this comes a little late in the light of your recent success but i thought i'll add this just in case:

I've been struggling with my AGA-T+ for almost a month, tried almost every coiling/wick oxidizing solution out there.
I realized that if i keep the distance of the wire from each post even, the hot spots don't appear, and even if the coil is loose(which it inevitably is for me), i start massaging them while lit up so that they sit snug on the wick, the excess gets folded on to the last coil towards the post. I start from the middle and do it on each side. I've also found that just a basic oxidization of the wick will usually suffice with this. The wick, rolled with a small center hole and filling up 2/3rds of the wick hole gives me a consistent result with regards to wicking issues.

Hope this helps others as much as it did me.

Cheers!!
