Snap a pic of your current wick. Maybe some of us can help you on that. Hard to say much when we don't know what you're doing wrong.
Taste wise maybe, but not on usability or vapor production. At least not my wicks.
Made new coil and put a few more wraps 30g 2.0ohms and tighten the bottom coil
still no real vape production with the top cap on

Try 0.8 ~ 1.0 ohms at 4v ( though i have no clue how evic works) A mech mod always does it better. That'll hit better. Technically, the bigger the air hole, the better the vapor production is. And since you're on VG, the vapor should be massive.
If it still isn't, then it's all on the wick. Too many variables.

2.0 ohms for 30g 5 wraps? Mine measures somewhere around 1.4 for 5/6 wraps.
2.0 ohms for mech mod is too high. Aim for 1.4 or so. Or even lower as madhero suggested If you're using VV mod, 2.0 should be ok. Adjust your voltage accordingly for that resistance.

right now its on 1.2ohms and I put another wick down the middle of the one touching the coils. put it on ego battery and it works ok. still seam airy. and its only 2 wraps of coil 30g

its new and the airy sensation went away after a few puffs. I think it just need to get some moisture in the top cap. but It will not fire on my eVic

so much steps? i just roll 4x4 cm mesh and oxidase then trim down and coil can alr.
I dunno y but i just like to do it that way.. Have tried burning it to oxidize it but i dont like the metal taste that u'll have for a period of time during break in..with an unoxidized wick with cotton insulator i dont get that metal taste at all.. This just my preference.
TBH i havent had metallic taste before... Only occasionally when got hotspots then got that chaota ejuice taste.
