I already made a simple fix for the center post of the spring. I already fixed this guy's center post and upgraded his pins to silver, it vapes really well :) Sadly I can only do my upgrade service in my own country since it would be expensive and impractical to service other mods in other countries. The guy in the video is a friend and a schoolmate.

Has anyone figured out a good fix for this yet? I got mine today and it's a pretty good dripper but it is laughably terrible in genny mode. It could barely heat a 1ohm coil because of the voltage loss in that spring. If anyone has found a good brass replacement or the measurements for the necessary rod please let me know. I would really like to set this thing as a dripper with the tank on to make an unsquonkable bottom feeder.

The insulator where the positive post meets the spring melted on my agi....

it happened once and it melted so much that it couldnt make contact with the spring anymore.

so i sanded down the areas that were disfigured and then the second time i couldnt take it apart because the insulator melted onto the spring...

now when i try to set it up in genesis mode i cant even get power to it anymore. vamo reads 9.9ohms and provari gives OP (ohms pending) error.

waste of $30. didnt even get to really use it.

i was able to switch out the o-rings on my aga-t and get the agi cap on there so at least my aga looks solid now..

I have mine fixed as of today. I left the spring in but found a small copper solid wire (I think 14 gauge) and used the spring as a holder clipped it off just at the springs height, then screwed the top on making sure the wire pushed into the small hole at the top. This has been working for 12 hours with a resistance drop of 0.4 ohms. Went from 1.5/1.6 ohms to 1.1/1.2 ohms (VAMO won't fire sometimes because it registers Lo Ohms). I haven't had the courage to take it back apart since, so I don't know if I damaged the spring, but hey at least I can now use this. It almost went into the junk drawer until I did this.

I fixed the spring by twisting a small copper screw into it...and snipped of the screw head...what a difference..

something to keep in mind is that the top cap is a bit low..
i was building high dual coils, with my wick sticking a bit out above the positive..when i put in my drip
it pushed the wick down, causing shorts as this part wasn't what i oxidized...took me some time to discover
what was going wrong :/
so don't build with your wick higher than the screw of the positive post, depending on the size
of your drip tip..also the airhole is just above the deck..the airflow is nice, but high cools might
not get enough cooling..

don't let it become too hot when dryburning...let it cool down a bit in between or the centerpost isolator will melt.

performing nicely now, but might not be the best rba for beginners

well, finally received and tried to set it up with no success... that spring is ridiculous, i was trying to non-oxidizing method of setting up my coil and it wouldn't even fire... had to take the whole thing apart to see what was wrong and noticed that the spring was getting black already... i guess i'll have to try some of the upgrades suggested above, but fiddling around with it to get it to work is highly annoying.

I have been looking at this since they came out. I have an AGA/T2 that i love, except, i found out if you travel with it on an airplane, presumably because of the pressure drop, it will wick juice onto the top plate and leak out around the top cap. this looked like a great fix for this with the reccessed top plate for drip mode.
kind of dissapointing to hear of the center pin/ spring issues, but i guess with a little modding they are overcomable also.
to bad you can't just put the top plate on an AGA :)

someone asked earlier in this thread why a hybrid dripper and tank?

i dont have one yet (i did order one, shipped today) ut i can see the use for it. what happens if your off somewere and you drop and break the glass? with a switch over, your in dripping mode and can still use your gear. at least, thats what im thinking, and why i ordered one.

How to make this a great genny style attys. . . You will loose the ability to change back to dripper if you do this but since i did this mod i dont want to go back because its a graet genny much better than it was in its stock genny setup

first drill out the cap air hole to preferred size i drilled mine out to .076
Then fix the spring issue i just slid a solid copper rod through the center of the spring
now drill out the genny wick hole it is way way waaay to small, i drilled it out to .128 just a hair larger than 1/8 to give me a variety of options to use wicks. Now i can run 1/8 Nextel or even steel cable if i want as my hole is .003 larger than 1/8. drilling out the hole ruins the ability to go baxk to dripper mode but i like those as a genny
for my setup i use 28g kanthal wraped around a 4-40 machine screw and a single strand of 3mm silica wick slid through k (i like silica wick gennys no messing with hot spots or burnt metal taste easy setup too)

With the bigger air hole dilled out to .076 i get way better vapor production even when i could go dripper mode but i had a lpt of trouble setting this thing up as a geny because the wick hole was far to small i mean it would not even fit a 3mm silica strand withoit choking it lol qnd my mesh had to be rolled verry tight and tiny got tired of that and drilled it out to .128 with a 3mm silica strand it wicks beautiful and now i can use a much bigger in diamiter mesh wick along with 1/8 cable or Nextel wich u can not do with this stock

if you only use this as a genny and want to make it a lot better i would highly recomend driling out the wick hole to .128 or .130 to allow for the use of standard wick materials on the market today

also removing the bottom o ring for the top cap will make removing and replacing the cap a lot easyer with out making the cap too lose i know i had a problem with that second o ring being too tight to place the cap on all the way easily
