How pompous of Wlad to write something like that. I will never buy from Ahlusion again...rolls eyes. :D

Anyway, DJ, we seem to have similar palates. I asked before for suggestions for really "juicy" flavors. So far I got Star Dust, Grape Vine, and Autumn Mist as recommendations. Anything you would like to add? I'm curious about Watermelon Jubelance, Apple Berry Splash, and Pearadise Dream.

You may like Watermelon Jubelance. It tastes like natural watermelon, not candy. But it's not straight watermelon, it's a mix. There's a little lime, honey and a tiny, tiny bit of spearmint in it. It's done very well if that appeals to you. I like it better than any other watermelon I've tried to date, including Wipeout Watermelon, which was in my opinion a straight up candy type.

Yay-just got a coupon code

:toast:

After two years with them, I pretty much have nailed down my favorites. This order was unusual for me though, I ordered two medium bottles of untried liquids. Autumn mist (those RAVE reviews) and the new Sapphire. Really looking forward to trying both.

Well thank you, and yes at times we do have similar tastes.

I was going to respond to your earlier post since you have listed two flavors that did not make my cut. Bear in mind though that I am being very tough in my opinions for future orders. I also do not wish to retain more than 10 favorites but this is proving to be a more difficult task than I envisioned.

Between Apple Berry Splash and Pearadise Dream the more flavorful one for me was the Apple Berry Splash. The only reason the ABS did not make my cut is I do not do well with Apple (and or Peach for that matter).

Definitely try the ABS if you like Apple vapes.

.

Unmatched arrogance. I'm forever done with this wretched outfit. Anyhow, I like their fruit blends as well and Raspberry Mint, Raspberry Cream, Peachy Affair, Raspberry Sunset, Peach White Tea, Zing, Lemon Vanilla Cake, remain among my favorites. Can't beat their raspberry, peach, and lemon.

I stopped by the main Swartz Creek location for the first time the other day (i usually visit Flint Township as it is close to my work) and picked up some standard 50/50 express Just Criminal as i was running low. Filled up the tank, took a puff, and immediately dumped the rest of the tank down the sink. It had almost no flavor at all. Going to let it steep and see how it does in a month or so. Had the wife pick up some from Flint on the way home and still not perfect but much better. Going to give that one a week or so. Might be a little too fresh and need some time. The stuff i bought a couple of weeks ago is fine. All bottles have the same month and year code. Thinking the first few i picked up were early september and the new ones were late.

Stopping by there tomorrow anyway for Tiramisu and maybe a new mod.

We have another winner for me! Although Caramel Pear Black Tea did not do anything for me (although I see how many love it), the Caramel Pear White Tea is delicious! Just delivered yesterday, so very fresh, but dripped a little as I always do when I get new flavors, this is GREAT!!!!

Another winner for me is Boba Tea Strawberry. It was my requested sample and again very fresh, but that Boba base is so smooth, the strawberry does not scream STRAWBERRY!!!. It is a nice subtle strawberry (but definitely strawberry).

Also got Cappuccino; very light flavor right now, but I bet this will develop into another nice coffee flavor. I think of cappuccino as a lighter coffee flavor, so this is what I expected and wanted. WINNER!!!

Thats exactly what happened and it isn't anything new. It's been on their website for almost 2 years that they are reformulating every juice to require little to no steeping. Every time a flavor disappears I assume it's being reformulated.

All of us can remember how many people we've had to talk into ordering since they wanted instant flavor. Then there are all the people who vape it as soon as it arrives and start complaining about the flavor and putting down Ahlusion. Wlad has always hated all the talk and questions about steeping times. For every person that has come here to complain imagine how many contacted Ahlusion. And there are no refunds or returning juice. It is stated in bold red on the terms of service at every checkout. No company can take back juice that has been sent out.

I can't begin to imagine how terrible it feels for someone who lost an ADV. All I can say is I'm sorry it happened to you and I hope you find something else that works. Doesn't matter if it's here or from someone else. The main goal is to stay vaping.
.../snip

As someone new to vaping and new to Ahlusion, I hope my "newbie" perspective may help in understanding the steeping time complaints. I hope I've said that below in a way that doesn't offend anyone and is still clear to understand, that's my intent. I'm also speaking for myself alone and my personal issue with long steep times.

I'm trying to stick with vaping and not go back to smoking, it's easier for some than others. At first I thought I'd never go back to analogs but over the last couple weeks I'm faltering a bit. Trying to find juices and vendors that work for me hasn't been easy. I came to this thread and therefore Ahlusion looking for juice that I would love and would keep me vaping and not smoking. As a faltering newbie several months of steeping is daunting. If I were years into this process and had my gear sorted out so it works great for me and my top 10 juices sorted out and my ADV's lined up and a rotation process of juices steeping/ready to go, sure the patience of long steep times wouldn't be an issue. But I'm not there, I'm struggling with all the aspects of vaping to find long term satisfaction. Wading through hundreds of options of gear to figure out whats what and what might work for me, then multitudes of juices that could work from their descriptions but arrive and are nothing like what was expected...it's fustrating as all hell. To keep me from going back to smoking I need to find just a couple options and having a bottle of juice that needs to sit for months before I can use it doesn't help me one iota in this struggle. If I had gone through these "newbie" struggles years ago and found my favorite ADV and then the vendor changed it, I'd be hot, hoping mad too. I can see both sides of this issue and I'm sorry for those of you who lost your fav after the frustrating trial and error it may have taken to find it. Just keep in mind long steep times may not be an immediate gratification issue for everyone. For some, it may be a part of the struggle to not go back to analogs.

Very well put ! Your perspective is completely valid and understandable.

Keep in mind that this is a very new industry. I would imagine we are a while away from developing juices that taste exactly the same from the moment you open the bottle until the end of their lifespan. There are vendors who sell only pre-steeped juice though, and Ahlusion also has an xPress line where the need for steeping is minimized. Whether you would even want that or you prefer a juice that tastes slightly different with the passage of time is a personal preference. There is also the issue of different atomizers, and coil and wick set-ups and air flow, not to mention leaking, gurgling and dry hits all of which have an impact on taste and vape quality. Many many variables affect your vaping experience. I was overwhelmed when i first started vaping, and went back to smoking a few times before it stuck.

Stick with it though !! There are ways to expedite your way through the learning curve, and joining ECF is a great start.

Feel free to pm me with what you are looking for in a vape, as far as equipment, juices and such and i would be happy to give you some recommendations based on my own experience.

Good Luck !

Most do not "need to steep for months" Most are good within 1-2 weeks. Some of us, having set something aside for months and then re-visited it, have found that even things that were good at 2 weeks are FABulous at 12 weeks.
We have all been where you are. I was exactly one year ago. I kept getting bad juice and more bad juice and someone said (actually many said) "try AHlusion" so I did and almost cried when my Strawberry Banana Cream came and was so soft and mild. 3 weeks later it was the best thing I'd ever had in the way of juice.
I did almost go back to cigs by the time I found AHL.
Do we like the steep time, not really. (actually I think some do) We just like what it brings

My go to list for people just giving up cigs is: Heather's Heavenly Vapes Dragon Fire, Boba's Bounty, Ahlusion's Smooth Criminal, Halo's Tribeca, or maybe one of NiteLightVapor's tobaccos. Anyhow it sounds as though you've found your favorite ten. The thing with the steeping times and Ahlusion is totally subjective though. Totally. I don't aim to steep anything they sell, it just happens as I buy so much and so often. None of isn't satisfying to me out of the bottle, it's just that some of it gets better with age. The claims about several month steeps are specific to a few people.

I also struggle to keep it there, as I actually have a Top 6 right now.

In no particular order : Lemon Cream, Caramel Wild Wood, Just Criminal, Peppermint Bark, Lemon Vanilla Cake, and Cafe Au Lait. I'm curious to know what you and other posters in this thread consider to be their Top 5-10 Ahlusion flavors.

Ooo that reminds me I have a small bottle of Peppermint Bark I have been holding for cooler weather. I have tasted it and it is very good.

Top 10? That was asked a few weeks ago but I didn't post. Humm...no particular order:

Caramel Wild Wood
Vanilla WW
Lemon Cream
Raspberry Cream
Raspberry White Tea
Banana Cream Pie
Pineapple Upsidedown Cake
Lemon Vanilla Cake
Cafe au Lait
Boba Tea

More, but I love so many! Just got Caramel Pear White Tea - I think that is going to slide in there. And I must try the Peach White Tea... I guess my real fave is what I am vaping today :) whatever that is!

I feel your pain about how hard it is to find that perfect place where you know you'll never need cigarettes again...
Lots of money, so much time invested...and just when you think you've got it figured out, it changes again...

(My post back on 10/12/14) - - -
A couple years ago I tried to quit smoking with some cigalikes and it did not work at all for me - kept feeling like I had water in my lungs so I quit vaping and went back to smoking. I don't know if was because of the water content or just cheap liquid.

8 weeks ago I found a local B&M that claims no water in their juice (60pg/40vg). With their liquid (and moving up to a good clearomizer) I don't get that feeling of water in the lungs anymore - and have been smoke free ever since! After going through a lot of money finding the right tanks, coils, batteries I think I'm happy there...

But now I'm looking for more great flavors, and came across Ahlusion. They look very interesting...and their flavors seem very much to my liking. I was ready to try Banana Cream Pie...then I noticed the main ingredient was water. Anyone have advice about water content?
____________________________________________________________________________

Update today 10/21/14 - - -
Got my first Ahlusions order on Friday - Banana Cream Pie, Tiramasu and Café au Lait - and really loved all three...this is quality stuff! However, it's also my first try at 50vg/50pg...and by Monday (yesterday) I started getting a sore throat with that water in the lungs feeling again. (Has anyone else experienced this?)

Thanks to all the great help and advice on this thread, I have another 5 new flavors on order. But now I'm wondering if I have a sensitivity to the higher VG? Or is it the water content? The Ahlusion liquid was great right out of the mailbox...maybe I should have let them steep before trying them?

I've got plenty of other liquids that have been steeping a while, so I'm not panicking yet - but sure feels like I've got a lot more experimenting to do before finding the perfect setup for long term... Sigh...

The good news is I'm still 9 weeks smoke free - and nowhere close to giving up because I've been at it long enough now that just smelling a cigarette is disgusting. I really need to find the perfect vape...I'm ruined for smoking now. :)

It's strange how tobacco means different things to different people. I never smoked a pipe in my life, and only occasionally a cigar. Tobacco always meant cigarettes to me. Boba's, Dragons Fire , and Tribeca are all juices i tried early in my vaping journey, but they didn't really replicate the smoking feel for me. The sweetness was offputting. I enjoy them and Nite Light Vapors "tobacco's" a lot more now.

It wasn't until i tried Mountain Oaks' Southern Gentleman and HHV Dark Horse, that i found a real cigarette alternative. I know they are technically pipe tobacco's, but the fact that they weren't sweet had a psychological effect on me.

That's just me though, i know people who went directly from Winston Reds to fruity and desserty vapes ! and were successful in quitting. They just needed the nicotine and wanted to get as far away from that cigarette taste as possible.

For the record, if someone is looking for a cigarette like tobacco juice these days, as long as they can deal with the gunk factor, i recommend GoodeJuice Wrangler Light or one of many excellent cigarette tobaccos at Net.com. As far as synthetics go, Ahlusion Sahara Blend is a good option. Sweet, but not as much as SC or CWW etc...
