Your subjective post is great! If you don't mind here is my take.
Grant is not a kid and honestly one of the nicest guys in the industry not to mention hilarious. Great attitude, loves people and we have emailed quite a bit about nonsense. He always posts when he won't return emails and he won't. His small production has turned into mass quantities in a year. Supplying the UK alone is a daunting task not to mention EU as a whole.
Many have said the same as you asking and commenting about the hype, the hype was over 9 months ago and he is bringing new suppliers on board that can't keep it in stock either. He is a one man technicolor dream show that does his best. I have seen him make special small batches for vapers that are Pg intolerant on his break period. There are many juice companies that try to reproduce with fantastic results but it's not Grants. I have very knowledgeable friends in the community that see it as another juice and others like myself love it. I rotate in 1 bottle into 5 bottles of 100ml on a regular basis.
When one empties another goes in. But, I also have given much out.
He steeps them no less than 2 weeks before ship.
Like Ahlusion flavors, many have certain flavors they enjoy in specific atomizers. To me GVC hits the sweet spot at 1.4 ohms on a micro coil and coton or ekowool wick when the sugars start to crystallize on the coil and wick. Love it.
I enjoy supporting Wlad, Alley and Grant because they are great people and, great people to have in our vaping world. My devices, gear, juice will always be from people who care. I wasted plenty of money supporting big tobacco who didn't give a .... about any of us.
On another note 180 ml of Ahlusion to my door in 4 days and one was Sunday. WOOT. Fastest ever!
Thanks so much for a fascinating back story on GFC. My use of the term "kids" was not meant to denigrate him. Apologies. When you are old enough to collect Social Security I think everyone is a "kid" but it doesn't translate very well on a Forum. /LOL
Frankly and respectfully, I would prefer Grant to tell his complete story on his web site in a similar vein as you have described. It's neat, compelling, transparent, and a lot of first time buyers like me would have a better insight into his creations and how he runs the ship. I would also suggest an auto responder to all email when he is doing other things. You might be surprised ? at how effective this automated tool is.
I ordered two 50ML bottles at 50/50 and 6MG so shoot me a PM ladies if this works. As you point out, their is certainly no shortage of vendors selling what they think is a "clone" and in the DIY world it's very very well documented. For me, I will wait and taste the real deal as I tend to prefer to reach my own conclusions in fairness to all parties.
Finally, yesterday I mixed a more "traditional" twist on GVC using Sweet Cream from TFA @ 2% plus Vanilla Custard from Capellas @ 15%. Six hours in the UC and OMG is it smooth and yummy. Not gag me sweet but just right sweet after the UC. Need to "sit" for a day or so. Again, I'm not into cloning other vendors juices and I would never infer I have cloned the real deal. I just like to create a "twist" that I enjoy.
/ Returning to a regularly scheduled program /LOL

on the topic of high-end vs. inexpensive or knock-off: for me, and this is just me I am speaking for, in the past when I wanted to try new toys, I really appreciated knowing a) I have the help of the manufacturer if needed (i.e., not made in some far-off factory) and most importantly b) knowing that if I didn't care for it, not only would the price barely depreciate, but people would be willing to pay the exact same as what I paid for it (or pay more, though I wouldn't accept that). Buying higher-end devices, while being almost laughably costly, can really be a risk-free buy. Even after having my Provari for 2 years and having used it everyday that I vape (which has been 98% of all days since I started vaping), I recently turned down an offer for $120 for it (my PV is quite clean though it's been put through the ringer). Considering what I paid for it and how much I've used it, I think I've gotten way more than the little difference I would've "lost" on the offer.
