I received a nice email reply from Alley. My birthdate is there, they can see it on their end. However my Gold status was gone, but she reinstated it. So, glad I sent in a ticket, but don't fret if you are sure you entered your birthdate but can't see it on your account page.

Same for me, except that Mr. Alley helped me!
On a happy note, I seem to have gotten past my unpleasant side effects for Round 2 of my chemo. That means that for the next week and a half I'll be rockin' out (well, just living a normal life LOL)!
You can forget how good it feels when nothing hurts and you've got enough energy to just get through a day.

On a completely unrelated note, I almost lost my beloved kitty cat Monday evening. And our week went sort of downhill from there!

Around 5:30pm Monday, he began that weird warbling, and projectile vomited every thing he tried to eat; then began staggering, collapsing and finally having small seizures. (Yes, I was utterly freaked out and got him to my over-priced "emergency" vet as soon as I could).

Turns out he had self-cured of his diabetes, and my continuing to give him his insulin shots on schedule led to a major hypoglycemic crisis. (How the hell was I supposed to know?? Answer: I wasn't. Terrific.) His blood sugar was down to 22 (normal=100-300mg/dL; non-diabetic normal=65-135mg/dL).

They gave him IV glucose at the vet's, and I got some Karo syrup to rub on his paw. The vomiting, seizures and collapsing stopped. He seemed to be getting better, although he refused to eat or drink. Monday night was quiet, but of course he was wiped out and I was completely freaked.

Tuesday he continued to refuse all food and water and then: about 1:00am Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, he got the trots. I mean, full-blown, trip to the litter box every 5 minutes, pure ......... ALL NIGHT LONG. The trips slowed down in frequency by 9:00am, but kept happening nonetheless.

And still Maxwell was reusing ALL food and water.

This continued all day Wednesday. Deeply fearful that his food refusal and non-stop pooping would lead to another hypoglycemic crisis, I gave him some Karo via paw. Yes, he hated it, I hated it, we were both exhausted and anxious, and there was nothing to do about it.

Finally, finally, on Thursday the ........ stopped completely. Still refusing food and water, but clearly feeling better. I went out and bought a kind of Fancy Feast he used to love but had not had in weeks (and therefore had ZERO association with the gastric traumas of this week). EUREKA! Max began eating the new chow, and drinking LOTS of water (he had to be SOOO dehydrated). Best of all, he managed to keep everything down, and nothing came out the other end either!

Today is Friday, and FINALLY we have both been able to eat and sleep normally. I was initially so relieved to learn that my cat was "just" having an easily-reversed low sugar crisis, and then we went the whole damn week with stuff coming out one end but nothing going in the other!:facepalm:o_Oo_O

Thank GOD Maxwell is alright today, and thank GOD it's Friday!!!o_O

The "like" was for the recovery, not the crisis.

He's probably going to sleep a lot this weekend. I know for people recovering from food poisoning (the minor stuff, not the "in hospital with salmonella" kind), step one is to rehydrate and step to is to sleep and sleep and sleep.

So glad Maxwell is better. It's so hard when a pet (or baby) is ailing and can't tell you what's wrong!

You know, all of your talk of discounts is making me envious.

I'm sorry. :( I know how hard it is to hear when you first start. Hopefully it won't take long before you have an upgrade in status! If you've been buying for a year and haven't been upgraded you should email and ask about the Gold Status. I don't think anyone knows what it takes to get Gold status but a lot of the time it takes an email to remind them to look at your account.

HMMM...now I seemed to have lost my gold member status.........

I hope you have it back by now. It seems to be a glitch with the new website and requires an email to get them to reset it.

So glad to hear this, Penny!

There will be a webinar on Monday at 2pm EST with Dr Michael Siegel of the Boston University School of Public Health. He will be discussing the Deeming Regs. Here is a link to register if you are interested:

Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: E-Cigs DeMISTified: FDA Deeming Regulations Update. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the event.

Much thanks. After you register, the email you receive has your special link. Follow it and you can install "Zoom" which in my case is a Windows application which is required to hear/view the webinar. Makes it easy and fast to join on 5/9/16. I will try and record the webinar in case you can't make it.

I will continue to fight the FDA with every fiber of my body. I didn't spend the last two years fighting and blogging, only to give up and stop with the release of the Final Rule. Period!

Pineapple Cream and Pineapple Brulee are NOT the same, I repeat NOT the same. Please take extreme caution when ordering Pineapple Cream. Use whatever means are necessary to avoid mistaking Pineapple Brulee for Pineapple Cream. Legal, or otherwise.
End.

HA. They are different for sure. If you were expecting Pineapple Cream and got Brulee that would be a shock.
