Going out on a limb and leaving all fruits and deserts aside,..( EXCEPT RR),..and trying more non aromatic tobaccos and coffee vapes Ahl has to offer..I'm soooo enjoying "Caramel Coffee" and even now the "Sahara" has awakened.

What's the main difference between lemon cream and lemon vanilla cake? I only have the LVC, which I'm finding is extremely lemony still, and it's kinda missing the cake for me. I like cake dang it,lol.

The cake shows up in a month or so (I wait two myself).

Tried Alton again today..yep Nathan's...I give up!
I can't for the life of me figure out where they're screwing up the Alton. I got a mini and a 30 and both were great...in fact it's become my nearly all-day. When it's made right, it's a light orangey breeze. Weird.

I found that the difference between them was the lemon cream was MUCH more subtle of a flavor, much less lemon.

I think this question should be worded like this: What do Lemon Vanilla Cake and Lemon Cream have in common? To which I would say, they are both lemon-based, dessert liquids. That's it! Other than that, I don't find them to be interchangeable or even sister-liquids in the least bit.

I find Lemon Cream to be much more zesty and lemon-y than LVC. The cream part takes time, for me, to really come around though. And my preferred steeping timeframe for LVC is however long it takes me to get that dadgum plastic wrapper off. @y cherry y -- two months? You're nuts! ;) I never steep anymore unless it's Shipwreck and Tarte Tatin Apple and those are about a month steep. I am so glad those days for me are mostly over with having to -- not preferring, but *having* to -- steep!

Lynn, I think there must be something wrong with yours. I first got mine a bit over a month ago, and it was nice--not hot doggy at all. I'm trying it again now, and it's still nice and (as PennyLynn said) light orangey. I'm not sure that it would be a re-order, as it doesn't really "wow" me, though. Maybe if I did get it again, I'd get it sweetened and with Breeze.

On the Lemon Cream vs. Lemon Vanilla Cake comparison, I find the biggest difference to be after a long steep. For me, I liked Lemon Cream FOOB, but it developed almost an anise-y finish with steeping. And I really dislike anise. I still have a tiny bit left of my 10ml bottle that's around 2 years old. I really, really, really liked the LVC for a while, but then it got super dark with steeping and clogs up a new coil head in less that 2ml vaped. So I still have some of my super well-aged 30ml bottle of that left, too. I'm still searching for the perfect lemon dessert vape, but I just hate to stray from Ahlusion because I'm invariably disappointed.

I think this is one of those strange things in life (I am sure there is a scientific name for it) where there is, for one reason or another, a property in the liquid that reads a certain way to some and yet others do not detect it. It's almost like that blue dress that went viral. All I saw was blue, no hot dog! LOL

Have you tried White Rabbit from The Vaping Rabbit? I think I may place an order now because I want to see how it stacks up against my beloved LVC/BVC mix.

Oh, and I recently got some of the old fav, CPBT. I haven't had it in awhile, but since I began DIYing I now recognize what is up with that liquid. It's FA Black Tea all the way (though the rest of the ingredients are likely all Ahl!). FA (FlavourArt) Black Tea is almost like the tea version of their tobacco flavoring Perique Black. Super, duper, super-duper strong and spicy! The FA Perique Black can honestly be diluted down to 1-2% in PG and used at 1-2% of that. I am not good enough with numbers to break that down, but it's next to nothing and you'll still get a very strong flavor. The Black Tea isn't as potent, but I can't see anyone but a vendor ever needing to re-up on it.

Edit: I didn't even think about the whole "black" connection. Funny! Perique Black and Black Tea. Cool.

p.s. The funny thing about DIYing is that as much insight as it can give you into what may be in your favorite liquids, it doesn't always take away from the mystique in finally crafted liquid. Just the opposite. It makes you appreciate skills that much more. I mean, just becasue I can tell you what brand and what color paint Rembrandt may've used, that does not mean you are about to paint like he did.

My thing with Alton is reminding me of what I've read about another vendors passion fruit liquid. With this liquid some swear that it tastes just like passion fruit but others say it tastes like breakfast sausage to them. This bottle of Alton came from a classifieds purchase and it's well steeped. I don't get orange from it at all. I think this one is going in the PIF pile.

I haven't tried it. I'm not sure I want to try any new-to-me vendors . I keep being tempted, but before I found Ahlusion, I tried an awful lot of juices that ended up getting tossed or PIFed. Once in a while, I venture out and find that the hit-to-miss ratio just isn't as good anywhere else! I think I've finally decided that if it isn't a flavor profile that Ahlusion offers, then I just don't need it. Doesn't keep me from wishing that they had a good butterscotch, or buttery lemon poundcake/lemon meringue pie, or sweet gingerbread, though!

Tried it last week, hoping that it would be lemon pound cake with a smattering of blueberries. For me, not so much. The blueberry predominates, sending the lemon so far back that it was barely there.

I used to hear people say they 'sucked' at DIY and I thought 'how can that be it is just mixing flavors' I stupidly thought 'maybe they did not know how to measure correctly' or 'maybe they did not take notes' but the truth is there is so much to learn about DIY and your stuff can 'suck' even though you took pains to mix it correctly. It absolutely does give one an appreciation for someone who has learned all the variables and can do it right.

Here's what I think: Lynne, you got some of what appears to have been a bad batch (which is why it was being resold in the first place, I guess). My first sample was not good, but I thought it was more like wet cardboard than a Nathan's Finest..
When I reordered (out of good faith), I got better product.
I'm not saying you should try it again, but I AM unhappy with AHL letting this awful stuff through in the first place.
