Yes, genetics might be responsible. For example, there is a gene that some people have and some don't, and if you have this gene, avocados will taste horrible to you. You will hate avocados with a passion even though you've tried them throughout your whole life trying to like them like everyone else seems to. There are other food flavors too besides avocados that are affected by this gene. I'm convinced that's part of what's going on when we taste things so differently.
Yep, ain't got that gene! I am allergic (OAS) to avocados, but I love them. We owned some property in Cali that had an avocado tree -- actually the tree was split on the fence, so we owned half of it, LOL -- so growing up we used to always have avocados in the house. It just makes my lips and mouth itch and burn, but that's it. It's the same thing with most raw fruits, so I can deal. But avocados tasting nasty? Not in my genes.
Anyone here yet tried Pure Apple that can compare it to Autumn Mist?
I have some of this I've been meaning to try. They tested clean too but I forget where I saw the results!

I don't think that's the issue here, because I did get some Alton that was awful - just not a hot-dog taste. My second bottle tasted the way it was supposed to. I truly think AHL screwed a batch up.
And Lynne, I certainly don't blame you for swearing it off!
I haven't tried it. I'm not sure I want to try any new-to-me vendors. I keep being tempted, but before I found Ahlusion, I tried an awful lot of juices that ended up getting tossed or PIFed. Once in a while, I venture out and find that the hit-to-miss ratio just isn't as good anywhere else! I think I've finally decided that if it isn't a flavor profile that Ahlusion offers, then I just don't need it. Doesn't keep me from wishing that they had a good butterscotch, or buttery lemon poundcake/lemon meringue pie, or sweet gingerbread, though!

LOL, I just now put in a hardware order with Desert Vapes, and they had a clearance of Gingerbread Cookie for $0.49 for a 110ml bottle. I'm pretty sure it will be awful and go in the trash (or be PIFed), but how could I not throw that into my order?

Lynn, did you buy this already opened? If so, hopefully from someone you "know"? I dunno, maybe I'm paranoid, but I don't think I'd be inhaling something someone besides the Mfr. had access to. Shame I know, but in this day and age...
Which reminds me. I was at an outdoor bar on Fremont St. in Vegas last week. BIG party, a guy standing at the bar turned to leave, and offered me a big shot of tequila he didn't want. My instant reaction was "oh HELL no" but I put it much nicer. Someone else took it. No free trips to Electric Lady Land for me!
How long a steep does Banana Cream Pie need, chanelvaps? It seems that my steeping likes mirror yours ...
LB I am a normally a looong steeper. 8 weeks is a minimum for me with all things made to order like Ahlusion. I do think the longer you can wait the better and as you see a year is not too long to me. The key is to pre-plan and buy ahead but if you cannot do that at least 6-8 weeks. I have some of the new ones (Hawaiian Sun, Sat Morning, Billow Berry etc.) that I tried in the first week and then put away and they are in about the 6-7 week now. I will probably get them out next week sometime
I'm a 4+ month steeper, usually. With Ahl, sometimes, 8-12 weeks works, but Banana Cream Pie isn't hitting at 8 weeks. I'll put it away in the deep steep dresser drawer for a couple of months
