Aww... any one of us would do it for ya, we're FAMILY here! hahaha... NICE selection! Oh, I sniffed the LVC before I sent it out this AM... Totally ready for prime time! Looked relatively clear still, but the room filled with the aroma when I took the cap off.. omg.
Yipeeee! I'm doing the hands outstretched, bow down worship the Jedi thing...

Hi Penny, I have a disabled boy, a very energetic 7 year old and a demanding business. I have used being busy as an excuse to avoid testing for years. After watching it claim 3 people in my family, one recently, it's time to stop wimping out. How bad can a test be right??
Lol, you SO lost me on the TANG.
Throw a girl a bone. What is the
AND, now I'm going to bore you to tears. I've been collecting, storing, and drinking fine wines for over 30 years. The parallels between wine, and juice, are many. (phenolics, flavonoids, etc.) A lot of things are simultaneously going on in those bottles. In the case of wine AND nicotine and the flavorings in ejuice, oxygen destroys it. You absolutely want to prevent exposure to it as much as possible, to get the BEST results. Same goes for heat, and for sunlight (UV).

You WILL simulate aging with the heat bath, and exposing it to air frequently, but, MOSTLY the NEGATIVE aspects of aging. In a bottle of wine, it is simultaneously improving, and dying, with time. The cooler it is, and the less light and oxygen it is exposed to, the SLOWER the DECAYING part of the process occurs, while the harmonizing and melding of the phenolics, are still occuring.

So, if my experience is worth a dime, you will get SOME of the same results out of the LVC with what you are doing, but it isn't going to be what you will REALLY get from letting it mature gracefully, slowly.

My advice, especially since you seem to have a VERY discerning palate, is to order more, now. I'd crack one open, close it, and put it in a cupboard that doesn't get TOO warm. Should be great when your current inventory is gone. I'd put a few somewhere COOL, like a basement, and I'd put a few somewhere cold, like the back of your fridge, near the top where it isn't the coldest. When you take the one from the cupboard, move one from the basement to the cupboard, and one from the fridge to the basement, and replace the one from the fridge. Keep doing that, and in 6 months, you will be in eternal heaven ever after. :) hahaha...

Edit: Oh yeah, and a friend who is a MASTER Diy'er, observed the same thing. BAKERY flavors (which LVC is one of) don't suffer as badly as delicate fruit flavors ( like dragonfruit, or passion fruit) without bakery. But he attempted to speed steep a delicate fruit batch, and it absolutely destroyed the flavor. So, second data point.. The cake flavor will hide much of the damage to the more delicate fruit flavors, but with your palate, you might find it.. less than optimal.
PS- NOT boring!!!!! Not by a long shot.

Wow! Thanks! Glad I only heated one bottle!
Thank you!! I will take your advice! And yes, I'm going to make a mammoth order after getting paid for my next jewelry gig.
Thank you for the Vapor Jedi
Wisdom!

;) What sucks about getting old, is you learn a couple tricks, and then ya die with em. SO nice to pass some torches to someone who will benefit from the light, beyond your stay.

Note the LVC I sent you. It has been 5 months in a 55F, pitch black cellar that doesn't change by a single degree. It won't be anywhere near as dark as the well aged stuff you have had, BUT, I think you will find that the FLAVOR will be VERY similar. It won't be QUITE as advanced as a 5 month old bottle at room temp, but think about what it might taste like, in a YEAR when it DOES achieve the same color, but has 6 more months of the POSITIVE aspects of development. I think you are going to be stunned. :)

It's the HUGE bottle of prep fluid I fear! I tried once before, many years ago, and had an allergic reaction. But they say they have pills now too. I can do pills. So yes. Next week I go in for my consult. Weeeee! It will be a relief. And my family will stop hounding me. Win, win. Thanks!

Oh heck. It was 6 years ago now, and I had completely forgotten about the day before! The fleets.. ugh. Alright, at the IMMENSE threat of being disgusting, get paper with Aloe Vera, and use the baby cream stuff right from the start. By the time you realize you NEED those things, it's already too late. hahahaha.... oh shick, I coulda lived without THAT memory.

Lol, Tang! I can help you with that. Someone (sorry, can't remember who) advised Penny that people on Chemo have found Tang to be especially compelling during that time. Something to do with the metallic taste the chemo causes in your mouth I believe.

Holy Vaping expert! The Vaping force is strong with this one! Ok, I feel like I'm better equipped to handle my juice with care. And yeah, I'm totally stoked to get that package. Yours will be mailed shortly. I wanted to polish the watch too;)

Hahaha.... I'm watching the clock, only because, ya know, no wristwatch...
NOT a vaping expert, by ANY stretch. Just applied a very similar knowledge to something newer, with very compelling results. ;)

The AHlusion drawer is what some simpler minds call the cheese drawer. Throw out the cheese and replace with Ahlusion (unless of course it is real Mozzarella)

Very interesting and much needed information to share with us LLB. I will be bookmarking this and the next time someone asks about heat on or cap off I will know what to say ;)

Note to JGD:
May I suggest you look for a medication called Balneol? If you Google I believe there is a coupon. It's fairly expensive ($16), but when applied to a sore area, can make the difference between despair and regaining the will to live. Have this ready for your prep and you'll be able to do it!

Do you have any idea how long Ahlusion steeps their XPress? It sounds like they will have even higher standards for the Elite line! Can't wait to try it! But yes, in case of a zombie or vape-apocalypse, I will start my own "wine cellar" of juice. I have a huge chilly basement, which is actually our lapidary and gem carving studio. The average temp is between 50-60 degrees. Do I keep some even colder ( cheese drawer or freezer?) for long term storage?? How crucial is the "keeping it dry" aspect? It gets humid in Wisconsin. Should I store juice in big bags of rice??

I may be wrong in this, but I don't think they age their Xpress. I think it merely gets UV treated, and POSSIBLY warmed. But I will ask! As long as it isn't a proprietary secret, I'll post it here. Otherwise, nobody cracks Wlad on secrets. Well, maybe Alley. :)

I WOULD keep some colder, being that YOU really love them WELL steeped. If you can get to the point of 6 months in the fridge before 6 months in the basement, then a month or so at room temp, I think you will find a whole nother animal in there, one you will especially like. It's only a hypothesis at this point, but I am presently doing the very same experiment, for different reasons.

And no, moisture won't get past those caps. No concern there. If the tiniest moisture could get through, then air itself would flow through like a sieve. And the O2 would be WAY worse than a lil moisture.

Keep us posted! I'd love to hear your thoughts a year from now. Not only would they be interesting and educational, but I'd just love to hear your thoughts.. ;)
