I hate menthol anything. I could never smoke menthol cigs and really dislike vaping it. I emailed Ahl a few months back and asked them to describe their menthol options, because I was looking for a touch of mint... Never got a response. Ahl's old site used to describe their menthols, but I didn't see anything on their new site...I pulled the trigger and added "Breeze" to a few fruit flavors in small batches in my last order. I was pleasantly surprised! Hawaiian Sun and Autumn mist really come alive with breeze added. I get "mint"; nothing stronger... For me it tastes like Wrigley double mint. I didn't find it overpowering in the least and find it compliments what it's being added to. Don't know if I'd order it all the time, but for now it's working for me.

Finally got around to trying my sample of Orient Whisper that's been steeping for maybe a month now. I've had better lychee vapes. It is supposed to be a mix, though. I think I taste mango (maybe?) in there. Not a re-order for me - so far anyway.

I agree. It's been a while since I've had OW, but I too got very little lychee. I remember tasting more white grape. I didn't taste mango, but there was some other fruit I couldn't put my finger on

I like Ice Kiss. Thought it might be nice with a "breeze", so tried a sample (when samples were still available). It was good but not something I would order. Well, several weeks ago I came down with a cold. Couldn't taste anything for a few days. That Breeze Ice Kiss was perfect! The breeze gave me a sensation and sometimes I got some flavor. Got me through that cold just fine.

I'm home! I don't quite understand it, but I have almost zero pain...just very minor soreness under my arm. This went so well. I read many descriptions of women staying in bed for weeks. I came home, made Eric a sandwich, and sent him out to get my pain meds.
I even get to remove most of the bandages and shower tomorrow!
I had a room mostly to myself while I was there (they sent up an emergency admission for a few hours, and her adorable granddaughter was there for a while, which was fun). I even did a little zero-nic stealth vaping lol. I got some tips from the "Lung-ology" Dept and a tube to enhance my inhaler use. Breathing is much better now and I think the bronchitis, or whatever it was, is just about gone.
I think we'll watch "Keanu" tonight...I wanted to save it for when I was done with surgery. Sounds like the perfect silly comedy.
Thanks for all the good thoughts! I think they worked!
That's awesome! So glad to hear you're doing so well...will continue to keep you in my prayers and sending healing vibes so your recovery stays nice and easy.

Update to let everyone know how I'm doing. Healing is going well. Saw my surgeon yesterday, and as expected, I have to keep the drain in for another week.
Since the shortness of breath never really went away, he referred me to a pulmonologist! I'm going next Tuesday. I remembered that my PET scan, back in April, said that I had centrilobular emphysema, and pulled out a copy of the report to bring with me. It wasn't a surprise, since my mother has it, but since I was focused in on the cancer, I kind-of just snickered when I saw that. Funny, though, how quickly I went from symptomless to "definitely a problem!" on it.
I'm doing my very best to limit my vaping...I inhale a tiny bit and then click it off, so I get much less. I also found that it's worst when I lie down, so I'm sleeping with my upper half elevated, which is also good for my surgery site.
So, is the pulmonologist going to tell me to absolutely quit vaping?

Possibly. That doesn't mean you have to, though. As you may recall, @tyleris12 here on ECF has spoken about her having emphysema, and has found ways to minimize any impact from vaping (one: low vg, please!). Glad to hear you are doing so well otherwise! :)

In other news, I am (Bragging? Complaining? :D) that Ahlusion's Gold Member prices and free shipping have utterly ruined me for other juice vendors. After ordering 4 X 60mls of Saturday Morning, I went over to Vermillion River's site to look into getting another 30ml of their Cherry Heat (a delicious cherry with a mild shot of cinnamon). I have vaped this in the past and enjoyed it immensely, and thought I would just indulge myself in another bottle (I may yet, as a "birthday" present to myself!). OMG, it's almost $18 for a mere 30mls, and the shipping -- !!! I couldn't log off of that site fast enough! :D:facepalm:

Yup! And Hi, Eleanor! Try being a Michigander! I order 2 60's, but since it's a really nice motorcycle ride to get there, I save Wlad the shipping and ask for in store pickup. THEN when I get there, I pick over the 50% and 80% off rack. On the last trip, between my order and the rack, I walked out with 240ml for $40. How am I ever supposed to look at someones $20 30ml with a straight face again?

I just wish Ahlusion had more than the same ole 139 different flavors, plus all the combinations with or without mint, menthol...

I have ventured away from Ahl a little. Got into a few different tanks, Aromamizer, etc, things that beg for high VG.
I am in So Cal, had to take an emergency flight, not much time to plan, etc. I noticed that most of what was important for me to get in my "vape bag" was Taifuns and Ahl. I have my favs with me, Lemon Cream, Kiwi Sea and Boba Tea coffee. so many great WestCoast coffee places, Boba Coffee fits in perfectly.

Not too good LLB. My mom, age 84, fell twice in a week. Hospitalized of course, and then moved to a recovery/convalenscence hospital for physical therapy. It has been determined that she cannot live alone anymore. She is fighting tooth and nail, she is a big drinker/smoker and this was not how she wants things. Big ordeal. Technically she is in her right mind so she can make her own decisions. I am only here for a week, her home is not how it was a few years ago when I was here. She obviously cannot be on her own but we have the problem of a very strong willed independent person that will do as she pleases.

Hoo boy -- brings back memories of our struggles with my poor old stubborn mom. :( So sorry to hear it, Chanel!

I count my blessings that my Dad decided on his own to move after my Mom died. And they had already downsized to a (large) apartment a few years earlier.

If you can, find a good "continuity of care" place. My Dad lived there in "Independent Living" for about 7 years. He had a one bedroom apartment with a kitchen. He got one meal a day (if you didn't show for at least one meal and didn't tell them in advance, they'd check on you.) He could participate in any activities he wanted and ignore those he didn't. He drove to play bridge every day.

When he wasn't able to take care of himself any longer but didn't need a nursing home, he moved to "Assisted Living" in another part of the building. He ate all his meals in the main dining room so he still got to spend all his time with his friends but the unit has an LPN on duty 24/7 plus aides. They can call the nurse practitioner and the doctor makes rounds once a week. They also made his doctor appointments for him and arranged transportation.

There's a Nursing Home in the same building. He went there for rehab after falling but, if necessary, he could have moved there permanently.

The smoking could be a problem. At Kendal it was allowed in people's Independent Living apartments but not elsewhere on the campus. Other than that, however, it was as painless as these things can be. Having that structure in place allowed him to live in his own apartment for much longer than he could have had he lived on his own.

Good luck. I know how trying these times can be.

P.S. If she doesn't have one, get her an account at Amazon (or Jet which I recently used and can be cheaper.) I live nearby but there was a limit to how much I wanted to schlep on the train. He'd tell me what he needed, I'd log onto his Amazon account, buy it and have it shipped to him.

Very sorry to hear that, Coco. Just got my 84 year old Dad out of physical rehab last month. He was too weak from an infection to go home. He is the SAME way, but fortunately, he got married a few years back to a GREAT lady, and I am grateful that he has someone with him to look out for him.

I hope that your Mom recovers enough to remain independent, or can find peace with the need to sacrifice some independence. Your mom is in my prayers!

As my grandparents lived in other countries, I never really experienced the challenges of advanced age until my folks got old. QUITE the eye-opener, and I am wringing EVERY last bit I can out of my "youth" (boy is that relative!) before all of this catches up to me. It's coming, but for now, I'm buying superbikes. :)

These situations are so difficult. My dad recently passed, and my mother had been caring him for him nonstop for years. Poor thing is so worn down, and was so busy with Dad that she hardly knows how to proceed now. Her own health was so neglected that it may be very hard for her to recover her strength.

She would never go to one of those places. Refuses. She has an attorney and an accountant that see to her needs. I send her good books from time to time
