Holes drilled and electrical channel cut:

Dan

Dan, that looks good!

Just one word of advice and I'm not sure it will make a significant difference, but if you chamfer the air intake hole at 45° on the sharp edge your fan will run a lot quieter and more efficient due to a decrease in pressure loss. The sharp edge where the air is draw into the hole will cause a significant pressure drop and a reduction in airflow efficiency. It will also make FRRRRRR noise...

Google "bell mouth entry".

Cheers,

might want to change the fan to more of a pump type of of blade something that will cause more of a vacuum effect, something like a windshield washer pump or fish tank pump something that will have more static pressure otherwise regardless of what fan blade you use youll be unlikely to get much pressure.but great idea im subscribing to follow your progress!

Finding or making the right smallish pump/fan that puts out enough air pressure is the quandary.

I have recently made some smoke generators for a theatrical effect by using a Phoenix atomizer that I drilled a larger hole in the side to allow easier air-flow. However, with that kind of atomizer, you can only put a few drops into it.

I recently purchased an iclear. It is a clearomizer with a fairly easy draw compared to others. However, even the small squirrel-cage fan I tested was not enough power to do anything. So, I think an atomizer mod that has almost no air flow resistance is the way to go.

I don't have any experience taking apart clearomizers, since I don't want to trash the ones I have. Does anyone have a suggestion about one that can have its airflow dramatically increased?
