Introduction

This is my first official mod and review. I didn’t see too many in depth reviews that encompassed all the features of this device so I figured I would give it a shot and I apologize ahead of time for the length as I wanted to try to include all aspects of the device. Even though I am new to mods, I feel this is a must have for those of you that get tired of the same ole song and dance with having to care and maintain carts and cartomizers and constantly having to keep a bottle with you in order to constantly drip. I haven't tried any other juice or box mod so I won’t be able to honestly compare this to others and will not speak negatively about the others, unlike other posts I have come across :) I try to be as objective as I can and keep in mind what works for me might not work for you in terms of preference.

Equipment and Juice Currently Being Used on Device

I am currently using just a standard Dekang PG juice and one Tasty Vapor (15% VG) with a Joye 510 atty with a Super T “Wide Mouth” drip tip.

What you Receive

You receive the device, the initial 6 ML bottle with feed tube, an extra 6 ML bottle, a 510 to 901 connector and an extra magnet that can be used as a spacer.

Juice Feeding System

I too was skeptical that the juice feeding system wouldn't work right, or would leak all over the outside and inside and wouldn't taste as good as dripping but I was happy to be wrong in this case. You just squeeze a little with your finger until you see some juice coming out near the catch up, then let go and the excess juice goes back in the bottle or is sucked into the atty when vaping. Learning curve is minimal. It uses a 6 ML bottle and has a teflon tube that goes all the way to the bottom of the bottle to ensure no juice is wasted. I haven’t been through an entire bottle yet but about half way so for and still working like a champ. So far, knock on wood, I haven’t gotten any juice in the mouth, even when I got a decent amount in the catch cup as it seems the juice will either go back into the bottle or be sucked right into the atty. Ryan (Kaji) did his homework on this design as it so far it is performing flawlessly.

You also don’t have to put juice in the bottle as you can just drip like normal if you were going to be trying a bunch of different flavors. The juice probably wouldn’t leak down the feed tube but just to be safe you could just have an empty bottle in there.

Changing \ Refilling Juice Bottle

I have already tried this to make sure it wouldn’t be difficult and it wasn’t at all. There is always a learning curve with any new device but all you have to do is pull the bottle towards you, not too rough, slide it down, grab the teflon tube from the top of the bottle and it will all come out. Then just either refill the bottle or use the spare he provides and do the opposite. When putting it back I first stick the tube up into the device, and then insert it into the juice bottle. If I switch flavors I also just run hot water through the tube from the bottle. Until you get the hang of it you might want to have a paper towel handy just to make sure when you pull the tube out you don’t get juice in the box, but it would only be a drop at the most but I am always cautious and figured better safe than sorry. A trick I found that helps is if there is some residual juice in the catch cup or atty connection just use some compressed air but make sure to cover it first with a tissue or paper towel and that will clean it right out. A Q-tip will work as well.

Cleaning

Well as I listed in the above paragraph I used compressed air for any residual juice in the catch cup or atty connection. Ryan advised you can use a window cleaner for the outside but the finish on it will keep it pretty protected.

Voltage Options

This device has the ability for 3.7 Volts using a protected 18650 or 6 Volts using 2 protected 16340’s (RCR 123a's). So far I have only used mine for 3.7 so can't comment on how the 6 volts is but even on 3.7 using an all PG 18 mg juice I get a good amount of vapor as well as TH, I guess I am a lightweight.

Battery Life

The battery life is great, and so far I just use protected 18650 batteries which so far last me almost 2 days, I usually take a puff every 30 minutes or so.

Button

It works great and feels great as well, not too small and not too big. Since it was brand new there was just one or two times where it didn’t fire right away and it had to be broken in a little (just about an hour of use). Ever since then it has fired every time.

Inside Device

The insides are clean and stained throughout and held together by earth magnets. So far the doors haven't come off but are easy to take off if that makes sense. There are no exposed open solder connections , the connections to the button are closed off and not exposed, the wire connecting to the spring goes up the sides and blends in and is out of the way.

Appearance\Quality

The overall look is amazing and you can see the grains both inside and out and there are many different choice wood types (so far approx 6 I think) to choose from. It feels solid in the hand and isn't too light or too heavy. The actual box is smaller than my IPod Touch, see picture below.

Vaping “On the Go”

I usually don't vape on the go but feel it wouldn't be an issue putting this in a loose pocket or purse minus the atty as well as there is a recessed on and off master switch. There have been no leaks anywhere.

Customer Service

Lastly is customer service. I have ordered from probably about 10 or so suppliers and so far everyone has been great but Ryan by far has gone above and beyond with helping me with at least 50 + questions. These questions were not only about this product but also on other devices, juices, options, etc. I think him and his Dad are the only ones working on these and the demand for this device is really high but he always finds the time to respond to any question I have and most of the time it is only within a couple of hours which is remarkable.

Well that's it, and I am no expert by far, these are just my overall opinions and observations on this device so far.

Thanks to Ryan for making my first mod experience an enjoyable one. If anyone has questions I’ll do my best to answer from what information I have.

One difference in my experience - So far I have not removed the feed tube from the bottle when reinstalling. I've just popped the top with feed tube off the bottle, filled the bottle, popped the top with feed tube back on the bottle, an reinstalled the bottle. I just grab the bottle right in the mid section between my fingers and then I guide the feed tube into it's receptacle. The feed tube doesn't get pushed down in the bottle when reinstalling and goes right up into the receptacle just fine. No fuss not muss.

I do that as well sometimes T^2, I usually take mine out just to give it a rinse so it doesn't get gunky, etc. as well as I use compressed air for the cup and atty feed tube. Since it looks like I will only be doing this maybe twice a week (unless I swap juices) I take the extra time to give it a good cleaning, I am OCD like that.

A solid review. I'd love to see an update after a few weeks, to see if the Ali'i holds up as well as I suspect it will. I have been waiting for an opportunity to order one ever since they were first announced, but I've missed out on my chance because they get snapped up so fast. I emailed Ryan and asked to be put in a queue for a future order. Hopefully I'll get an email from him soon, asking me to confirm my wood options.

Thanks for the Review!..

1. where can i buy one?..

Kaji (Ryan) has been opening ordering via his R&R site on Friday's at 5:00 p.m. PST until the weekly quota has been met. This week, for example, the ordering only lasted 13 minutes. I know he has sometimes added people to the list via a PM and an email invoice but not sure if he's doing that anymore. You can go to that other thread I posted to ask as well as get more up to date information and he also posts whether or not the site will open the next Friday for orders.

2. there is any video review?.. maybe grimmgreen?..

There is one quick review that was done by MrSkullfreak:

YouTube - clip 2010 09 11 12;14;14

You can go to his R&R site and see the other video and written reviews on the other device, even though it's different it uses the same feed system and Grimm shows an up close view of the catch cup when using the feed system.

It just looks so fregile to me..

I can say it is pretty solid but of course if you drop it, like anything, it could break. That is one thing I didn't want to test and hopefully don't LOL. There is small play with the wood ends but very very small as both are held on by earth magnets and it actually takes a little wiggling to take them off as they are on there good. He said the reason there is small play in the ends is to compensate for possible wood swelling depending on the climate where a person lives.

Also starting yesterday he released his variable voltage Ali'i which is the new talk of the town. Same device, uses different batteries and at the top of the device near the catch cup there is a dial. He said the battery life doesn't last as long as the 18650's.

Hope I answered your questions and feel free to ask any others as I asked a ton of questions initially and I am happy to share them with everyone to help Kaji (Ryan) out so he can continue to produce these devices.

Take care and Vape On:vapor:

Like I said before ED, this was a great review!!!

Thanks Acey, the only negative feedback I've gotten so far is that I should have called it a First Impressions video vs. a Review video since I haven't been through an entire juice bottle yet and haven't had it that long but oh well, I figured with all the questions I asked and the information I have that it would be a "Review".

I plan to continue to update this thread weekly to keep everyone updated on it's performance.

Not sure, I know his newest product he just released for pre-orders was the Ali'i Variable Voltage version. Same as the Ali'i look wise but has a dial on top near the catch cup and it uses a different battery, 16 something...

It's pretty small, the actual box without the atty and tip fits in my hand and I have kinda small hands. I tried to post a good comparison pic and used my Ipod touch as I figured most people have seen those in person.
