i have an MOV Phoenix Rebuildable Atomizer, and every wick / coil i build heats up to fast and glows, yes thats with juice on the wicks.

the hits are harsh and barely any vapor. it was even doing this right out of the mail, and now i just can't even get a good wick/coil in it... is this one busted or am i doing something wrong?

im using 80%cotton 20% hemp wick, and 32awg kanthal. regardless of the wrap, it always sucks

i dont know about that, i made sure there is no metal touching any coil other than the kanthal in the screw holes, which are both trimmed short.

ps: i just made a new wick / coil, its hitting alright, okay amount of vapor, but the throat hit is hard. it started dry burning when i was testing it without the out shell of the phoenix while putting juice on it, and some of the cotton got black in the middle, so that might be the harshness?
not sure, but so far this is the best success. but i know it should be better .. hmm

when using cotton make sure your coil is not to tight. Cotton swells when it soaks up juice. you should be able to move the
(dry) cotton easily back and forth with in the coil. If you coil is to tight it chocks the center of the wick from getting juice. The cotton should not blacken it will change color some but not blacken.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner It has been a busy week.

I'm not familiar with the Phoenix, but I've found when I'm getting really dry harsh hits on my AGA-T its because the air hole isn't lined up properly. I've also vastly changed the vape on my A7 by moving the coil closer to/further from the air inlet.

I'm having a similar issue with my AGA-T currently though. The SS #500 wick is wet and in place, no shorts or anything. But when I fire the coils are glowing almost as if there isn't anything there. Vapor is a touch harsher/more TH but its still got good vapor & flavor. Not sure if my coil is too lose or what is going on.

maybe its just that these things pack a hard TH?

i don't think my coils are to tight, but i can always be wrong.
i just feel as if i should be getting more vapor.

i've also found that if i put over 5 drops in, the atty will make barely any vape and a super scratchy throat hit. so i have to only put in 2-3 drops at a time to avoid this..
