Hi Raidy, how did you discover oxidizing the surface of the mesh in order to make it non-conductive? And when wrapping the coil around mesh, does it sometimes remove the oxidizing coating off the mesh?
This mesh is hard to find indeed. If I remember raidy was lucky enough to just have some from a previous ebay purchase, maybe years ago. It has related uses in goldfish pond filters, silk screening and water/gas filtration. The 'my' is the size of particles in microns are filtered nominally (I hope that is correct) and it is also known as 'wire cloth'. I thought I saw an ebay.de link in raidy's thread with a large selection, but can't find it now.
Typical steps for making a own genisis PV:
mechanical steps:
The IC pins are soldered to the copper wire and then covered with shrink tube.
Making the screen and kanthal:
If you a perfect in mechanics, i prefer using this way, because changeing kanthal and mash goes much faster:
Can you understand my english? Please rate me from "realy poor" to "poor but usable"![]()

Hi CircumspiceI noticed something on your other thread about the Diamond mod. In the photo there is a huge flash of light coming from one of the crystals on the case. Is there an LED behind the crystal or is it just camera flash on the shiny crystal? Lots of people like "bling" on their PVs, that is why I ask. ;-)
