Look in this thread, i already described it.
1) Cook it 5 minutes
2) dry it
3) Take a lighter an glow it to the color of cherrys. 3 times and only on the top side, where the kanthal is.
4) Put 1 drop liquid and burn it with the lighter.
It should work well. The first 10-30 times it tastes not so good (dont inhale, blow it out). But then you get the absolutly real armone of the liquid like never taste before. Normaly the oxidation has no problem, when you wrapp the kanthal. So older the atty, so better is the oxidation.

This mesh is hard to find indeed. If I remember raidy was lucky enough to just have some from a previous ebay purchase, maybe years ago. It has related uses in goldfish pond filters, silk screening and water/gas filtration. The 'my' is the size of particles in microns are filtered nominally (I hope that is correct) and it is also known as 'wire cloth'. I thought I saw an ebay.de link in raidy's thread with a large selection, but can't find it now.

I found a "Swatch" for $8.00 but when I got to the checkout they wanted 10.59 for shipping. NO WAY ! 10 bucks to ship an envelope is ridicules.

Raidy - are your mesh sizes quoted as 'holes per linear inch'? That is: '200' = 200 holes per linear inch? I haven't found anything above 250 holes per linear inch woven stainless steel yet in the UK.

CORRECTION: I've found up to 400. But some companies give different grades... for example: "0.41mm Aperture - 0.22mm wire Dia"

Raidy - Don't worry about your English skills, really! You are very understandable. :2cool:

But also, you gotta know that "mechanics" and "electronics" are universal languages!!! :matrix: I believe that I speak for most of the modders on this forum... we understand you!

If you are not careful, you will get about 100 new "best friends". Know what I mean?

So, just keep up the good work and keep the how-to posts and photos coming!!!

Typical steps for making a own genisis PV:

mechanical steps:

The IC pins are soldered to the copper wire and then covered with shrink tube.

Making the screen and kanthal:

If you a perfect in mechanics, i prefer using this way, because changeing kanthal and mash goes much faster:

Can you understand my english? Please rate me from "realy poor" to "poor but usable"

I noticed something on your other thread about the Diamond mod. In the photo there is a huge flash of light coming from one of the crystals on the case. Is there an LED behind the crystal or is it just camera flash on the shiny crystal? Lots of people like "bling" on their PVs, that is why I ask. ;-)

Hey asdaq! My knowledge on this matter is sorely outdated... but! Have you tried checking out the suppliers for fab shops? Specifically for industrial refinery valves and strainers? I was a welder many years ago and we used to make inline strainers for refinery vessels. They look sort of like witches hats. We welded a VERY fine mesh onto the strainer. As I recall, it was along the lines of 308 to 425 stainless, at insanely small mesh sizes... Just a thought... :2c:

Hi Circumspice
No, there is no LED behind the crystal. Its from a halogen light, which i use to make the photo.

Some ask why my mods are so big. It is also small, very small even. This is the fine lady. 10440 battery and less like any pen. But as I like one to two days in a row by smoke without a battery change, So i prefer large mods.

It's so small, you have to click at the photo to see it.

But It is very, very difficult to make such small mods.:(
