Really like that driptip, what's it called/where did you get it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC that is an original nickel plated aluminum Tru Flow tip from Innovapor. They have been out of production for quite some time. There are several modders making clones in delrin, teflon, SS and Brass, but they are not quite the same.

Do check out the "Shorty"Contoured Wide Mouth Stainless Steel T-Tip tip by Super T. One of my favorite tips for sure. Also offered in Delrin.

For some reason, I think that's one of the clones.

After a 2nd look, you are probably right.

I have to say... I've been vaping tank after tank on this setup and I can't seem to put it down. A 1.5 ohm coil seems to vape just well enough and long enough to take it out for more than just on-the-go vaping.

I am running a 1.1 ohm coil on my D16/Simplicity and getting surprisingly good battery life. This combo is a winner for sure!

What wire and wrap count you using to get that? I was aiming for 1 ohm, but only have 28 and 32 around and didn't want to use the 28.

Ahhh yes, ribbon kanthal. I need to hop on board that bandwagon and give it a try.

Here's a little chart to help you decide which size of ribbon is right for you. Note that all values are for Kanthal D:

is there really a benefit with ribbon... aside from 'easier' wrapping? and for some reason i always thought that ribbon is more fragile or something that regular wires.

IMO and experience, Ribbon kanthal vaporizes more efficiently due to the larger amount of surface contact with the wick. It also seems to gung up less for me, but others have said the opposite. This might be placebo effect, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. It is easier to wrap, however can be more difficult to trap the wire under the positive connection depending on the atty. It also seems to be easier to work out shorts and hot spots but YMMV. :D

I purchased some flat wire in a group buy once and I still haven't tried it. I think I have been holding on to it since Feb. That chart you posted AJ is very nice, now if I could remember what size I even received would be extremely helpful.

Thanks! I worked hard on it. :)tongue: AJ)

I had the some Tru flow tips from Innovapor....Did have an intersting cut to them, they were made out of alumminim. I also had a white one made from PTFE...Apex vapor(now TET) quit making the Tru flow tips when they dropped the Alpha e-cig line........ SuperT tips are better--Stainless Steel...

WAS THERE A MOD IN THAT POST???:drool:
I am very impressed with the Simplicity. Every other 14500 mod I have owned has had some sort of issue that has caused me to sell it. The Simplicity has the perfect feature set and the switch and lock ring work exactly as I want it to. I love this thing!

In regards to the switch spring: I love the super soft touch it takes to fire this little beasty, but in the end I decided to swap out for a stiffer spring. The default config of the negative post/O-ring with an AW IMR creates a nice short throw, so a stiffer spring is still really easy to fire, but now it can stand up ulocked without firing. I do hope Dave sources an appropriate spring in the future, as the one I used isn't the perfect size, but it works. (I used a spare from my Ikarus for anyone who want's to know).

And to the discussion of "why does it matter when there is a lock ring" I say because when at my desk I like to set the device down without locking, but I still need to lock it when it's in my pocket, backpack, or otherwise not being used. :p

I'll agree with that last statement. While I'm a Trippy fanboy, when I'm not using glass I'm using SS :)

I actually still have one of those Tru-flo tips, the nickel plated ones. I don't use it anymore, though, as nickel apparently doesn't agree with my skin and turns almost black after a couple of days of use.
