My very favorite is Mamu's Stealth (I call it Mini Max) with a Halfling 22 on it. Max is awesome but usually stays on my desk. The only drawback for me on the DNA20 mods is they 7W bottom. This is something that Evolv has heard and I am told are addressing but I dont know when. Only issue with Mamus mods is getting one.

The MVP is a solid mod, very close in size and weight to the Max but of course has a 5V top end which isnt good for some but for many such as myself is no issue at all. It is dead simple on the controls with Puff counter and V+/- being the only thing there. There is a quirk where when the puff counter rolls over from 999 back to 0 it fires for like ten seconds, first time that happened it surprised the hell outta me. After I realized it does that it became a game of trying to catch the free hit. I dont think it hurts anything as long as whatever is on it is wet. I think they did it for a dry burn thing to clean the coil not sure but I dont think it would be effective for anything like that.

Also have a few of my own home brew OKR boxen that I love but they seem to collect dust lately.

I have one of those - it's beautifully made and my long suffering wife has a mini? i think it's about the cutest thing ever and it always works = no nagging!!

But my all-day recommendation is a Reo, and i'll tell you why! They are easy to use, clean, maintain - they hardly fail and if they do - send it back (even one you bought on the classifieds) and it will be returned in about a week as good as new.

This is one of her mods.

Guys - it really is horses for courses, a provari or eVic will be wrecked in a week at my work, i am clumsy and my wood mods stay at home.

Those ^ right there. They're all i will ever run. I don't care if you gave me ANY other type of mod. I won't even open the package before I list it on the classies. But I will definitely be buying more of these end game mods :)

One year cig free today thanks to those and kindest most helpful people on ECF. You can find those people here : http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/

Does This count?? This little guy rocks! I got it a few days ago and can't put it down! I love this Nivel Chip! I have to give props to Fazed!
Of course it counts It's a box :) Thanks for posting so many pictures....wow. Nice things, that I didn't even know I wanted :p Wish I had bought a box sooner. Maybe some of the male smokers in my family would've gained interest sooner. Not all a guys are as secure in their manliness, as the fellows here at ECF. Nope, tube mods aren't for everybody ;)
The Reos and several of the wood mods, are just beautiful. Mmmmmm

I know this one is gonna look lame, but it is a VV box. SmokTek "SmokBox VariCool" - Custom Variable Volt Box Mod - Efficient switching regulator! adjustable 3,4,5,6.5 volt's & everything between.

I've one of these for... 2 years now? It just won't die. My only whine about it is, being a battery box mod, the clippy things on the cover will wear down or break. (The snazziest rubber band you can find takes care of that.) No bells and whistles like a display to break even. I find I really don't miss it. (And yes, I do have APV's with displays...) How it works? High efficiency regulator means no heat and long run times. And if you actually want to push it into the 6 volt range it can actually do it without shutting down. It just... works.

Being what it is: Paint it, dress it up any way you want or just leave it as is. Rip it apart it you want. (Didn't the OP say this was for a tinkerer?)

It sure ain't one of those (blank)Vapes cheap boxes that seem to last 32 days and come with a one month warranty.

Rickajho, 2 years? That is impressive. Smoktech can put out some good product. I bought one of their cheap 900 mah eGos, and it outlasted all of my other eGos. Yeah, what ever it (the box) ends up being.....it's gonna be taken appart. Just no way around it. At least this person knows their way around electronics.

What did I say about boring? I got so bored looking at the black one I bought another one in white with  a multicolor LED instead of the red one! That one too - working, working... If this person is really "one of those types" there's even a [[[third]]] version in a  clear battery box. lol

Seriously, nice stealth vape device with performance backing it up. My favored out and about thing.

If your buddy is crafty enough to get around any hot melt in there (there are household agents that help loosen hot melt from plastic) they can have at it. It's one of the tidiest hot melt jobs I've ever seen.

[edit] These are actually USA made by SmokTek - not SmokTech. (I know that name thing gets confusing.) Rob backs them with a 60 day warranty. If nothing goes wrong within sixty days then it never will.
