Allergic to cinnabomb...I think...

Last week I was rushed to the emergency room because my face, tongue, and throat had swollen up to the point where I couldn't swallow. I was at a friend's house and thought it was something there. Well, tonight I was at home and it happened again. I realized that the only thing in common with the two events was that I was vaping cinnabomb.

I am selling my cinnabomb and hoping that is the culprit. It is truly frightening to have your throat close up. I have not had a problem with anything else I vape, and it happened within 15 minutes of vaping cinnabomb, so....

Has any one else ever had anything like this happen?

My daughter has an allergic reaction to cinnamon oil. First time I noticed it was when she was a little girl and I gave her a cinnabear. Her tiny fingers and the area around her mouth was red and swollen. Makes sense that could happen from vaping cinnamon also. Have you ever had an allergic reaction to cinnamon candy? My daughter can have regular cinnamon, but will have a reaction to things with cinnamon oil.
Sorry to hear of your troubles with cinnabomb...that stuff is pretty strong, lol!

I have never had a reaction to cinnamon candy, but it has been years since I had it. I should have stopped vaping when I felt sores starting in my mouth, but I just ignored it. Someone has kindly traded me so my cinnabomb will no longer be in my house to tempt me. It was so good though..........

I recently realized any juice with cinnamon in it also gives me sores all over the inside of my mouth. I am glad I stopped when i did I would have hated to have to go to the Dr. I would never have thought I was allergic to anything but guess cinnamon oil is just not for me and its too bad I have candy apple and it is really good and apple pie too. I am curious Willbee have you tried any thing with clove if so any reaction to it?

I really wonder if it is just the cinnamon you are reacting too. I started out on menthol and if you only vape cinnamon or menthol you will get sores and burnt out taste buds. I have learned to switch back and forth. I vapes nothing but menthol heavily for 2 weeks straight and I had sores in my mouth. My mouth felt burnt. It took another 2 weeks before I could vape any menthol at all. I have talked to many members that have experienced the same thing.

I think it was the cinnabomb because I had been vaping something else and then switched to cinnabomb. The reaction happened shortly after that. Both times I had been vaping other flavors (different ones) previously. The only flavor I ever vape for a long time is BreezEsmoke vanilla.

As for the clove, I did a DIY mix but have not tried it yet. Maybe I shouldn't?

I am trying to get a response from vapor bomb as to what the exact ingrediants in thier cinnabomb are. I do not want to ever experience this again. Seeing SEJ cinnamon gives me mouth sores, but the vapor bomb cinnabomb was so much worse, I am trying to see what ingrediants are in both so I can try to figure out what the exact culprit is.

It was probably the cinnamaldehyde the active ingredient in cinnamon - which Perfumers Apprentice website said is the main ingredient of their 'Cinnamon Red Hot' DIY flavoring (BTW- I spilled a bit of their flavoring on my hand last night while mixing my own version of Cinnabomb - it left a burn that still hurts. I looked on Wickapedia and it is used as an insecticide - the good news is that it is also a antibacterial and a cure for cancer - very strong stuff -

This is an illustrative antidote the I found in Wickapedia under cinnamon:

Cinnamon is the subject of an internet meme, The Cinnamon Challenge, in which one attempts to eat a tablespoon of cinnamon without inhaling the cinnamon or vomiting. Despite thousands of video-documented attempts, few seem able to succeed. One notable challenger was Daniel Tosh, host of the television show Tosh.0, who failed.[38] Most don't seem to realize that, even if breathing through their nose, they usually inhale the cinnamon dust, resulting in a very painful and potentially dangerous experience — cinnamon irritates the airway, which could trigger a bronchospasm and cessation of breathing (apnea).[39] It takes a great deal of liquid to saturate a tablespoon of powder. This dust is easily carried in any air that is shared between the mouth and throat. Often the challengers then panic and gasp for air through their mouth, inhaling a large amount of cinnamon.[40]

BTW: Even after burning my hand - Cinnabomb is still my favorite vape - really gums up cartomizers though

willbeein2003, I hope you are doing ok now. I also have the same reaction to cinnamon candy. A little is ok, but for extended periods, I will get mouth sores, and maybe a lot of them. Cinnamon toothpaste does the same thing.

Cinnamon oil has several compounds that are known skin and lung irritants. I will not vape it ever. Frankly it is one flavor that I think should not be available in premade juices. We do not need people being going to the ER over vaping, as the doctors in general do not know the difference between vaping cinnamon and vaping unflavored. To them it is vaping, period.

Not everyone has a problem with cinnamon, but some most certainly do. And this level of reaction needs to be payed attention to by vendors, IMHO. I have been warning about cinnamon for months.

BTW, cinnamon oil has, among other compounds, cinnamaldehyde (that which makes it hot) and eugenol (which is what clove oil is when pure) and they both are known irritants. Again, some do not have a problem with these, but many do. I wouldn't even call it an allergy. It's more a case of some being more sensitive to irritants than others. And cinnamon is definitely an irritant.
