King County in Washington State decided to ban the use of the E-Cigarette where analogs cannot be used. My boss when he saw me on February 17th thought that it was the neatest device. The Hotel that my office is in thought that it was neat. Till that damned ban camed to pass. BUT.... when I saw my boss back in March, he said that he didnt care if I vaped in the office. Hehe! What an awesome boss I have :D

Pierce county is looking to do the same, but having a lot more hearings and a longer process then how king county sprung it on us. More info in the legislation section, if you've been following it.

No, and while we're on the subject of what you do that's offensive, the colors in your avatar photo bother me. And the sigma in your user name - it shouldn't be a capital at the end of the word like that. And your use of the word 'zero'. I've never liked that word.

Of course you could just tell me (and your office neighbor) to go <bleep> myself. ;)

Cool thread.

Well I'm in middle management and work at our corporate office, which is fairly large, about 350 people in our building. Luckily middle management comes with an office, instead of a cubicle farm or out in the "pit" of open desk space as we used to call it when I was a purchasing agent. I stealth vape in my office. My boss is a Sr VP and he knows. In fact he asked me the other day...why do you still go outside? And honestly, I don't want to abuse it. I'm not one to rock the boat. I don't want to piss off the haters and start a ruckus that ends up in HR and ecigs getting them banned in the building. I figure, if there is no policy, and I'm not rubbing it in people's face, then so be it. I'll do it quietly with some discretion so as not to screw it u pfor everyone. So I stealth vape a few hits here and there when nobody is in my office. And when I'm on a conference call, damn right I close the door, and go to town baby. This KBV Cinnamint makes it smell like freshly chewed Big Red in there :) But I still go outside to really toot it up when the urge strikes.

And you know, there is the social element to the "smoke hole" out back. Most of my friends, I've met in the smoke hole, and we generally coordinate our trips out back by email or IM. So I may never stop going out with all the folks hitting their stinkies. But since I've started openly vaping in the smokehole, I've converted at least 8 people in that smokehole. And not by being Mr Pushy Super Advocate, but just by answering thier questions and pointing them to ECF when their curiosity gets the best of them and they finally ask...WTF is that thing? I never push though. Nothing worse than a preachy born-again "non smoker" IMO

Anyway, that's my story

Thumbs up for Stinkies!!!

Before I started working from home (by starting up an app development company with husband), I used to work as a systems network administrator. My boss knew from the beginning when I switched from smoking to vaping and was fine with me doing it in the building. I still went outside on breaks to talk to some of the smoker circle people I was friends with and clear my head from projects that I was working on when i needed to, but I also could happily vape in my office and anywhere in the building.

I posted on this topic about a month and a half ago, and since that time I have been moved to a brand new building, taken off 3rd shift and put onto 2nd shift and now have to deal with other people. I still vape at my desk. My boss approved of the vaping, just so long as there are no huge vapor clouds hanging over me.
Once the first shift leaves for the day, I pretty much vape openly.

I vape at my desk but have never asked. My desk is around a corner so people don't really see unless they were to walk down the hall one direction or come around the corner to talk to me. I never asked and no one has ever seen me that I know of. I do have an assistant that I stelth in front of but she is part time so not really a big deal. I do find that since I don't have to go outside I am more productive but I am also on these forums all the time so it propably evens out :)

My company levied the Vaping Ban on Monday. Not allowed within the building.

I spoke to the person that posted the ban, and made several points in favor of it
1: not smoke
2: by quitting cigs, healthcare is lower
3: no butts on the ground outside
4: not as nasty as the chewing tobacco that is still allowed

the result was that chewing tobacco was also banned.

I work for a very large bank in a customer service call center. A friend of mine emailed the VP of his dept to ask if we could use them indoors and was shot down. The VP likened it to allowing people to drink non-alcoholic beer on the job and bringing in fake guns. Personally i don't agree with any part of that statement and I'm sure you guys don't either. All I can wish for is that I make more or at least as much money as VP someday, considering how stupid the man sounds.
