Just a quick question...what's the best way to remove tobacco smoke smell from...everything in a room?

Lots of Febreeze might help. Other than that, it just takes a few days of not smoking and letting it air out.

You wrote that you're using 24mg and 18mg juice. I suggest that you bump to 24mg across the board. Keep the 18mg for later when you've been off the cigs for a while. If you have to gradually wean yourself off the cigs, then by all means do it. Quite a few people here have done that successfully. The most important thing for you to remember is that we've all been through this and we're all here for you, even if it's just to vent or get advice or find a shoulder to cry on. We're here and we know that you can do this!

Ok Visine...do you see that you have a great support group behind you in every way!! We have ALL BEEN THERE...
Some make a easier break, some do not. But just because it has not been that easy, does not been that it won't work for you. Your just a little different and need to do a few things to adjust to get you thru the hump.

I hope that you take up the offers for a higer nic juice for this bump in the road for you. I truly believe that is part of your problem. In one of your posts, you stated that you are getting ready to order some juice at 18 nic. IMO that just is NOT enough for you at this point. I stayed on 24 to 36 for the first 30 days. I have now tapered off some, but there are STILL DAYS that I need the higer nic!

So take the offers, get some good support buddies behind you and get on the "I'm Not Gonna Give UP Train" !!!

Let us help!

I'm proud of you visine, Start off with high nic juice & vape non stop until you get a nicotine high that makes your head spin & forces you to go lay down. vaping strong stuff that makes you go lay down will definitely keep you off analogs. It won't be long until you can drop down nic levels. If I can quit smoking, anyone can quit smoking. Good luck & we are all here for you.

hey man, hang in there!

for the smell, yes wash everything you can in the washer. i used a ton of soap and ran the rinse cycle twice. also, i have been burning scented candles everywhere for hours. it is nice to be able to smell them again! get the cheap $5 big jar ones from walmart. because theyre in the big jars, i feel pretty safe leaving them in the other rooms unattended - BUT THIS IS JUST ME and MY situation...kids and pets could mess this up....

are you drinking lots of fluids and limiting caffeine? this helps. so does sleep, the more the better.

can you go treat yourself somehow today? like a really good meal, or a dessert, or something new for yourself? make this a celebration!

if agitation is really getting to you, find a health food store and get some kava kava or some valerian to take that edge off.

yeah i was thinking about doing a post about herbal supplements and vitamins to help with the withdrawal of the other crap in analogs. i may do that a little later here today if i can.

basically kava is the big mamma jamma herbal (fully legal in the US, used in "kava bars" in places like austrailia) supplement thats like valium without the benzo side effects. HOWEVER OVER USE WILL HARM YOUR LIVER, SO BE CAREFUL. i used this when i would attempt to quit smoking. never got me there, but it does help a lot.

the combination of valerian and another herb called passion flower is so strong that it is used for ppl getting off of benzo's like valium, clonazepam, and xanax. i highly rec looking into these things.

i also take other supplements. lol yes i should write that piece later!

an excellent place to start looking would be nutritionfocus.org

Boy Kevin, do I get how your feeling. I have just read about, and ordered my e-cigs, so don't have that experience under my belt yet. But I'm a veteran smoker of over 40 years and I've tried everything to stop also. This is a new something and hoping it, along with my strong desire to quit, will do it. I have spine injuries along with full body nerve damage that's killing me off slowly anyway, so some people don't understand why I want to bother. But I believe my body is a temple and without going into my religious beliefs, I really do not wish to die destroying that temple. People don't realize how strong an addiction this is unless they are fighting it themselves. And it really irritates me to run across an ex-smoker who says, "just quit, thats what I did." Makes me feel like a wimp with no will power, and I've been accused of being hardheaded!

I'm rooting for you Kevin! When you start getting down, look up, hold your head high, and say, "I'm on the right road as long as I continue choosing to quit, no matter how long it takes!" Barbara

Good luck Visine! I too started experimenting with cigs while in elementary school (8 years old) and started full time smoking at 12. Now 34, I assumed smoking was a part of me, my one nasty habit that i wouldn't let go of. I quit smoking 3 days after I started vaping, but realized that I needed to eliminate all cig related items from my house to keep me from being "curious" about smoking again. I used to fill my own cig tubes so I had bags of tobacco, cigarette machines, ashtrays, cig cases etc... I had to throw it all out. Also thinking about analogs hasn't gone away yet, but I find the craving is so weak that it's out of my head moments after it pops in there.

Try vaping a lot! Vape through your cravings and anytime that you would normally light up. then vape a little when it's not time for a usual smoke.... you'll soon eliminate the habitual association of smoking at certain times throughout the day. I found that once the habit part was destroyed (having a smoke after a meal, etc.) the cravings are nothing.

when I first started vaping, I tried to use it when I would usually light up, but soon realized that I needed break that pattern and just vape casually through the day... that worked the best for me and honestly, I don't get cravings to vape, I just do it now and sometimes I go hours without vaping. It's still weird to think that I'm a non smoker... but at the same time, it feels weird to think that I used to want to smoke... seems like I was someone else 2 months ago.

when i was an analog smoker, i hated the stinch. After smoking, i would wash my hands thouroughly with soap and try to "air out" my clothes before i walked back indoors. Here's a quick story. Back in 2007, my company sent me to arizona on a business trip. Once i landed in AZ, I made a mad rush to the outside of the terminal just to smoke. At that point it hit me..i thought "what in the hell am i doing? im not claiming my luggage, im not going to get my rental car? no, im going to smoke.." hated that feeling. Got back home and ordered chantix..was smoke free for 7 months and i started smoking cigars. I justified cigars because they smelled better..blah. fast forward to december of 2010. ordered an ecig and havent smoked an analog in a month..well take that back..i TRIED one and it tasted like pooh. its still sitting outside my house in the snow. :)

ps..i suck at story telling.

good luck.
