Hey everyone...just woke up (I work graveyards and sleep all day), thanks for all the comments. I'm sitting here typing this with my manual 808 and a 24mg carto, sipping a cup of coffee. Got the slight jitters, but I'm perpetually nervous anyway, and always fidgety. At first I thought it might be the coffee, but realized that I was jittery before I started my coffee.

Oh, and Tizz...you aren't a horrible story teller. :)

I think on Wednesday or Thursday I'll take EVERYTHING to the laundromat, bedding, clothing, pillows, curtains, etc. I've got knotty pine panelling in my apartment, so it's kinda difficult to wash...but I'll probably repaint the ceiling. Thanks again everyone.

thanks for checking in!

my grandma always used .... and span on walls. maybe your landlord would let you paint the paneling? esp if you them it it stinks and you quit smoking =)

Actually, my landlord would probably kick me out if he knew I was smoking inside...I did it out of spite anyway because he's currently living in Ecuador, taking rental money out of this country and living the high life. Yeah, I know...spite is a bad thing.

Just a quick question...what's the best way to remove tobacco smoke smell from...everything in a room?

Take a sponge and bucket of water with some cleaner in it and wash down the walls. The super icky yellow water will give you a great visual to go with your determination to let go of your formers friends, the stinkies.
You can do this.
Also, higher nic (36mg) really helped me thru the first months.

I wouldn't try to go cold turkey. Use both and gradually cut back on the analogs. You have been at it too long to just drop it once and for all in one fell swoop... unless you have a iron will.

I think that was my fail, trying to wean myself off of analogs. I'd do alright to start, then keep reaching for the analogs, instead of my PV. Out of sight, out of mind. When I wouldn't carry a pack of smokes on me at work, I'd do just fine puffing on my PV, but as soon as I got back home, Tada! a pretty little pack of stupidity, and a flame maker to enhance the effect.

Grats on your resolve!!

Some suggestions...

1. Maybe the 808 isn't the right PV for you all the time. Have you tried carts vs cartos? A standard DSE901 atty will screw right on a KR8 battery and you can use 901 carts with that (or if you have a manual battery you can use a drip tip with the atty too). The 901 atty gives (I think) a softer hit than KR8 cartos but can give you a big airy tasty mouthful of vapor. For little cost it would give you some variety. You can get a normal (don't get LR) 901 atty and carts and aluminum drip tip at Litecigusa.net cheap. And with an adapter you could use a 510 atty or maybe some others. One reason I enjoy carts is I can vary my flavor more easily. If a plain tobacco is boring me, I can add a bit of vanilla, or chocolate or some sweet RY4 like FSUSA oRYental. If I need more TH I can add a bit of a juice with more TH. etc.

2. Re juices - I found I craved analogs when I vaped some fruity foody juices. So I stopped using those alone. But now I set up 2 PVs when I'm home - tobacco flavor in one and fruity/dessert flavors in the other. Problem solved.

3. if you are vaping tobacco ejuices try to find some that satisfy your memory of tobacco. One for me is FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship (a Turkish blend, similar to Camel I guess). That stuff sort of smells like a freshly opened pack to me. And sometimes putting a bit of chocolate juice in a tobacco juice helps me because most of the analogs I've ever smoked had cocoa in them.

4. I don't know what nicotine level you're on but is it appropriate to your habit?
Typically
full strength cigs -> 24mg and some need 30+
light cigs -> 16-18mg and some need 24
ultralights -> 10-12mg and some need 16-18

Some people need a higher nicotine, and some just need higher when they first stop smoking, and some are OK on the typical amount

This has been a very good thread, this forum has been keeping me busy and inspired as I wait for my new kit. I got on e-cigs for about 2 months and loved it, but fell back to my analogs partially due to frustration of the device ( I'm pretty sure I just found a crappy brand), and how badly I wanted a analog with my bourbon.

I have faith in you, this forum, and the vapor... we will make it!

For your laundry, I highly recommend picking up some Arm & Hammer + oxyclean detergent:

This is the stuff my Wife and I have been using for over a year. I was a smoker and she was not, and this is the only detergent we found that is reasonably priced as does a very respectable job of removing the cigarette and other smells from my clothing. We can even have our clothing in loads together and the cig smell does now transfer to her clothing at all. It all goes down the drain.

We will continue to use the detergent simply because we like it anyways, but I have been cig free now for 2 weeks. Did a direct conversion to ecigs. The first 3 days are very hard because you are transitioning to a new method of absorption and the fix just isn't the same without all the chemicals. If you can make it past the 3 day mark it's downhill from there. There's still about a carton worth of smokes out in the garage but the ecig keeps the cravings for them at bay very well.

--------------

You might try some premium carts for that 808, I hear they produce thicker vapor which helps satisfy the smoking sensation. Also, you might try some VG based carts. VG seems to be able to produce denser clouds as well, which can further help you get your "fix." It's actually amazing how blowing out a large dense cloud has an effect on the mind. In fact, you can often get a denser cloud with the ecig than you would have with the analog, which can help tilt your preference towards the ecig over the analog.

Best of luck with the transition. Drudge through those first few days and stick with it! It will get better!

You're not alone op.

I am fine with vaping on my ego-t and enjoy it mroe than smoking - until I get drunk.

Even when drinking and whilst not drunk - i prefer the pv.

But once the booze buzz kicks in - I just crave smoke too badly and give in.

I am going to experiment with higher nic strength juices around 24mg (I currntly only vape 11mg) for when out drinking with the boys and see if that helps me not reach for a Dunhill Light.
