Hang in there with us - you can do this! For the first week, I kept my hands and mind as busy as possible. I was on this forum for hours and hours, reading and posting. I looked at e cig blogs, and watched some videos on youtube.
I also am fortunate to have a hobby of crocheting, so I could sit down and fiddle with my yarn and keep my hands occupied. With my trusty ego in reach, of course. I felt very good knowing that the hat I was trying to make wouldn't smell like smoke, lol. Maybe Banana Nut Bread, which was the flavor I was vaping, but not cigarette smoke!
I personally think that smoking cigarettes for a long period of time is such a complicated habit/addiction. Getting the nicotine your body wants is one part of it, but all the other little rituals and things we have done thousands of times when smoking plays into it, too.
Vaping is working for me I believe because it addresses all those parts, not just the nicotine. Having something in my hand that goes to my mouth is a BIG part of it for me. I smoked for 40 plus years, and cannot even begin to calculate how many times I lit a cigarette and put it to my mouth. There are probably deep grooves in my poor brain as a result of those actions. It will take a little time to get some new "habit" grooves there. It's probably not very scientific, but that's how I think about it.
