I have been building my own coils for a while now and usually do pretty good. I purchased some Ni200 wire and am having no luck at all. As I said I do good when using other types of wire, but with this Nickel 200 wire I just can't get a good coil. I am getting "atomizer short" and "resistance too low" errors. I have gone through about 20 feet of a 30 feet spool and I am still getting the same messages. What am I doing wrong? Any feedback will be appreciated!

All the spool has on it is Nickel 200, 28 guage, 30ft, RoHS. I am aware of Ni200 being TC. I have tried temp settings from 200-600 degrees. I have tried adjusting the wattage in TCR and presets. I tried it on my Smok mag 225w, my Wismec RX 2, and my Movkin Disguised 150w. I have tried 6-15 wraps. The only reading that registered was .049 ohms, but second time hitting fire button it read "atomizer short. I got 10ft of wire to figure this out. I use my mods for measuring resistance since it will normally register.

I've never used nickel, but if I recall, it has a super low resistance so it takes a lot of wraps to get up to a usable level. Like, as wide a coil as will fit inside your atomizer w/o shorting. Is there a reason you want to use nickel, specifically? It was the first TC wire, only because it was the easiest to implement with its high TCR value. But now that devices have come out which are capable of using titanium, stainless steel, and custom TCR values, most people have moved on from nickel.

10 wraps with an ID of 3mm should give you a resistance of about 0.14ohms.
Avoid contact coils.
Success at last! 15 wraps at ID 3mm! Thanks guys.
